Gwanny2three--How's Your DH??

Know you've been worried about your nephew, but I was thinking about the surgery your DH was having Oct. 1. Did he get the pain control stent put in? Has he noticed any difference? Maybe you've posted it and I missed it. Hope everything is looking better all the way around!!

Oh thanks for asking Patti....he did get a trial one put in on Wednesday and loves it! He went back to work today and can't believe the difference it makes! We are so excited. He was so afraid to get his hopes up again but this is doing it's job. This was the trial one and he was supposed to know within 7 days if will work for him, then he can get the implanted one. He is getting this one removed on Monday and then we wait for the incision to heal. After that, in a few weeks he can get it all done. It's wonderful...we can start walking again!! Yippeee!!

Enjoy it while you can, Oakley, mine used to be exactly like that--but then he retired. Now he has waaaay too much time on his hands and not only wants to go everywhere with me (I like to shop on my own so I'm not rushed) but he will even sit down and count things--like my bunnies, or my rose plates--then proceed to tell me how I have too many and don't need anymore! LOL Betty, I know exactly what you mean about the DH showing something I've made or done with that tone of pride. I've been lucky enough to have him do that through the years with my painted items. What do you do 'extra' for your DH

It is difficult for DH to get out because of his emphysema. I get him out for a Dr's appointment or on a real nice day, er will go for a car ride, although it's quite a production to get him out to the car. When I do have an errand, shopping, my own Dr's appt ,ect. I try to pay attention to what I see along the way, so I can have something interesting to tell him about. I have to admit that sometimes I embellish the story sometimes. He seems to enjoy these tales and if I forget to tell him something, he asks if I saw anything interesting. Dottie

Thanks....it is nice to see his spirits lifted! He was so down for so long and didn't get his hopes up to high for this, but it is a wonderful thing. I was amazed at how fast he knew he wanted it. they are taking this tester out on Monday and then in a few weeks he can have the permanent one implanted. This is really a life changing little device, simply amazing! He thanks you all for the encouragement and testamonials about this!
