I've been wondering about him too and hoping he's not in too much pain. I'm sorry to hear about the bedsores and hope they're able to treat him. I really can't imagine anything more hellish that to watch a family member/close friend linger this way and I hope he finds peace soon.

Well my son just called to tell me that it is for sure a staph infection and because it's still pretty red up towards his back he will be in there for at least 2-3 more days. It's not in his blood stream or bones, so that's good news. And we can go see him! My youngest son just went up there, he'll be happy to see his "gunkle" LOL(uncle)! I have to wait for papa to get home from and these other kids to leave then I get to go see him. My son said he's getting pretty antsy in the room he's in. It's hard to keep a toddler cooped up in a small room. Plus he still has the IV so he can't do a lot of moving around. This is not going to be a fun week for sure. :O( Thank you for asking about him.....I can't wait to go see him! I'm going to get him some little cars and trains to play with while he's in there, I can't imagine what it's going to be like for him stuck in a tiny room for days! Granny to the rescue ...I hope!

Leslie he had a rare bone cancer 5 years ago. He was in the hospital one week a month for a whole year and sick the other three weeks of the month. It was a horrible year for him. He was isolated from so many things for so long and so horrible feeling that he said he would never go through it again. It did save his life and leg, so it was worth it! This doctor is his miracle worker!

Regarding cushioning feet and pads, I've heard you shouldn't use them. The machine should be leveled and then it shouldn't move. If it does, send it back and start over. Don't be surprised if the delivery people don't know anything. I would imagine there is info in the instruction book to install and remove the braces. Will they have a shut off valve easily accessible? They should turn that off when the machine is done for the day. Another water safety procedure that I always use for my basement sets. The upstairs isn't as easy to access so it only gets done when we leave for overnight or longer, though it is somewhat accessible, I just have to unload a shelf to get to it. My modern w3033 Miele has 110v power and does fine. Sanitize is 158f. I think with the voltage it just takes longer to heat the water. I have a couple of older Mieles in my basement that have 240v, and I don't notice a big difference in timing of loads, But they can go to higher temps. One can go to 190f and the other goes to 170. These were used machines that I found for cheap and fixed a few things on them.
