Your Favorite Trick or Treat Candy???

I remember vividly when my 6 kids would be out trick or treating, when they came in the door they would proclaim 'Mom I have you favorite treat "....that would be Reeses peanut butter cups..

What is your favorite halloween treat ?

I like to give out full-size chocolate bars, not those runty "fun" size. This year I'm giving out bags of pretzels. Won't rot the kids teeth. I saw them on sale two bags for $6. And what kid doesn't eat pretzels?

Oh Goody! I'm so glad the packages are getting there and all of you are able to join in on my fun. We had a lot of wonderful participants for this swap and some interesting seeds coming through. It was truly all of you that made this swap a success. I hope the rest of players get their packages quickly so they too, can enjoy the spirit of halloween and the sharing of our beautiful gardens. I'll definately be back next year IF all of you promise to be back too! Until then, Im sure I'll be hanging around this thread until all of the packages have been delivered.... and of course to bless you with a few more of these! Why do vampires need mouthwash? I buy my seed envelopes at Staples - they're not cheap, but I find the plastic baggies hard to work with. The upside of the plastic bags is that you can see the seeds right away - the downside is that if seeds go into them that are the slightest bit moist, the mold probability is much higher than in the paper envelopes. When I was at Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum in London this summer, there were at least as many people (okay, women LOL) getting their picture taken with JD as there were people of both sexes getting their snapshot with the Queen. It's good to be gorgeous.

Amanda, you can hang with bud any time, he's much more of a "Meow" kind of lion than he is a "Grrrr" kind of a lion. :-) I still say he needs a bow. If you like sweet and salty together, try Peppermint Bark Popcorn. I don't add the chocolate drizzle at the end. Peppermint Bark Popcorn Recipe by Our Best Bites Ingredients 16 C popped popcorn* (fresh, or about 2 bags microwave popcorn) 1 lb almond bark 1 6 ounce box candy canes, crushed (about 1 generous cups, Bob's brand are best!) 1/4 teaspoon peppermint oil or 2 teaspoons peppermint extract** 3/4 cup semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips *if you're using microwave popcorn, try to find an unbuttered or "natural" kind because this looks much prettier if the popcorn isn't bright yellow! Lightly salted is fine, I actually like a little salt in there, but avoid heavy buttered. ** If you can find flavored oils, like you would use for candy making, use them as they will best combine with the almond bark. If using extract, it's not unusual for it to cause the almond bark to seize, but just stir quickly and pour immediately on popcorn. Once distributed it will be just fine. Instructions Place popcorn in a very large mixing bowl. Melt almond bark according to package instructions. When completely melted, add extract or peppermint oil. If using extract, it's normal for the almond bark to seize (get lumpy) which is okay, just stir very quickly, the more you wait the more it will seize. Pour melted almond bark mixture over popcorn and pour crushed candy canes on top. Stir to evenly coat. Pour popcorn out onto waxed paper, parchment, or foil and spread out. Place chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl and heat in 30 second intervals, stirring in between, until melted and smooth. Drizzle over popcorn mixture. Let mixture dry completely until chocolate and almond bark are hardened. You may place in the fridge to speed process along. When chocolate is hardened, use your hands to break up popcorn into chunks. Toss in a bowl, a jar, a cute package, or in your mouth :) Here is a link that might be useful: Peppermint Bark Popcorn

We bought Snickers in case of leftovers.....for us.
Also bought M&M's peanuts but decided not to hand it out,
in case of peanut allergies (just realized after I bought
it there may be a problem).....

Chocolate of course. Hershey's Dark, milk chocolate, Dove bars, you name it. I really do NOT like those little SweetTart-type candies, so I usually get mostly those for trick-or-treaters. That way, I won't be able to pig out on all that chocolate. I'm very short and every pound shows!

Snickers.

We 'go dark' over Halloween now. The number of kids going door to door here is so small. (Too far between doors!) Meanwhile, in the city, DS & DIL ran through 300 pieces of candy last year and had to run out for more!

Potato Chips!!!! A bag of chips *anytime* is my favourite treat.

As kids my brother and I used to trade and give my mom and grandparents what we didn't want.

I used to even like the real Halloween candies...the ones in the orange and black wrapper. Not only do they not sell them anymore, I'll bet nobody would eat them.

Do you remember getting homemade baking? My neighbour handed out homemade maple candy. Popcorn balls was another one.

Reeses peanut butter cups (which seem very popular with the kids) and Twizzlers. The snack size Twizzlers are much better than the full size (softer).

OHHH GOSH!! I must go get some of those orange and black wrapped things before their gone Sunday!...their like taffee but taste like honey/peanut butter...sort of like a soft Mary Jane candy...

A neighbor used to make popcorn balls as an inexpensive solution to what to give eons ago. I loved them, and still do!

My favorite candy, if I were still tricks & treating, would be a toffee-type bar, such as a Heath Bar, We usually give out Snickers, a couple of small bars,to each T&Treater.
