Ahhhh, who cares? Once the Yankees were out of it, I don't really care who wins. Sorry for showing my bias. I'm not a real big sports fan of any sport. I mostly like watching old movies and old TV shows on my television. Oh, tonight I'm going to a free concert at the Middle School. Entertainers will be a grown up chorus, including some neighbors. And free snacks-woohoo! Baseball is so over for me.

That comment by Jannie is one of my "pet peeves" of this forum. Michelle obviously DOES CARE, and the comment just negates her excitement and happiness that the Cards were able to pull one out. I have commented before about making a post about a certain TV show and having people post "never watch it, it's stupid". It really gets me down, no disrespect meant to Jannie. And I know this post will get the usual response of "it's a public forum and we can comment on anything" and that's true. But my point is, if you don't have anything to contribute to the conversation, scroll on by.

She showed that she is not rooting for EITHER team, like most of us.

So, unless she roots for the Cards, she shouldn't post? Is that the only way to "contribute to the conversation"???

Re-read what I posted, Luann. I don't care if a poster likes Texas or SL, but at least contribute to the original discussion, which is a baseball game. Not a middle school concert. "Baseball is so over for me". Well, obviously not for everyone.

Sleeperblues, have you ever seen Debbie Downer on Saturday Night Live? When ever someone comes on with a downer post when all the OP wants is some excitment about their subject, I'll think of Debbie Downer for a chuckle. Like you, it's kind of a pet peeve of mine BUT it's going to happen, well it happens more often than not and there isn't much I can do but SOB or change the direction of the post. Sometimes I'll reread the post because I may not get the tone of the poster the first time. Sometimes it's just a missing word or comma that throws me off. (Jannie, I enjoy your posts, still thought of DD today)

I have a few friends that loved watching the latest series games. My Dh bought us a Cardnals cap at the field when they won the series years ago. Should wear it this week. Go Cards!

I for one am a big Cards fan too! GO CARDS!! I watched the game last night until they tied in the 9th inning.. it so looked like they were going to lose... then WOW! I don't get too excited about baseball in general... but this has been a exciting series to watch.

That was an amazing game in my book! The errors from both teams made it look like either one could win. Then the Rangers were ahead by what 3 runs??? I thought it was over for the Cardinals. I was so tired I finally went to bed. Reading the paper this morning I thought, hey there was nothing on the front page about the Rangers winning the series....hmmm turned to the sports section and whooooo wished I'd have stayed up somehow!

I was busy texting with my kids during the game: The son and his wife who live near StL and were losing their minds; the youngest son who is a baseball coach and was losing his mind over the errors and LaRussa's decisions; the dtr who lives in Australia who, because she has no tv of her own, spent several hours on a treadmill at her gym watching the game, cheering and agonizing to the astonishment and delight of people she doesn't even know at the gym; another dtr who said, "Oh, is there a game tonight?" to howls from her three big brothers and daddy, who has hated and admired LaRussa since LaRussa's days with the White Sox and was ready to wring his neck several times during this series.

It was a blast. I hope we get more of the same tonight! GO CARDS!!!

I switched over a few times and was hoping the Cards would lose by one. Yes it's still sour grapes with me. The Phillies should have been there and the Cards only squeaked by in the playoffs in the last second THANKS to the Phillies beating Atlanta. If the Phillies would not have swept the Braves, THEY both would have been in the playoffs. The PHils were the best team in baseball wrapping up their win weeks ago. So I hope the Rangers win by one..not because I like Texas, I don't, but to show the Cards how it feels.

What an amazing game last night.....I thought the Cardinals would lose because of all the early inning errors but was happy they won....especially when the local guy did so well.
Go Cards......but it is difficult for me to root for a National League team.

I'm for the Rangers but I couldn't watch the game. Just peeked in every once in a while. I wish we had our original commentators I dont like the one.

Hope the last game is a winner for them There is more history for the Cards I think Home Field has to feel good for them

MAN! that was a hard game to watch. Geez! How many times did the Rangers have to win it! AT times both teams looked like t ball teams. errors. Walks will kill ya all the time. I am rooting for the RANGERS all the way because my M's aren't in it, and the Rangers have never won. Go RANGERS! (Plus, me like Beltre! lol)
