Listening to it right now...interesting in so many ways. Also sad to think about all the changes in their lives over these many years. :(

It is amazing to see and think of how young and insecure she was at times. But how strong she was in her own opinions at certain times. I feel she was very manipulated by some outside opinions.

I thought it was quite interesting. I hope they post it on the website - I'd like to watch it again. I was a little surprised how insecure and self-conscious she was. Sure had it in her to be strong, became a superwoman in many ways. I can't imagine what it was like for her being thrust into the limelight, just adjusting to that, basically pretty reliant upon her husband to whom she was undyingly loyal and then having him assassinated so publicly and everything that followed. Sure showed class and strength all her life.

At least after the death of JFK she was able to gain some of the privacy she craved.

It sure brought back memories. How long ago it all was. We were all so young.

I watched all but the last 15 minutes. Fell asleep. Interesting, for sure. I found it interesting in her early years in the White House,she seemed like many young wives in the 50's &60's with the "Stand By Your Man" attitude. She said something about she didn't think women should be in politics. I do believe she changed a lot in her, after the white house and probably Ari, years. I had always thought she was stuck up and aloof, but she was really shy and insecure.

Very interesting show. At the time, I thought she was snooty and snobbish, aloof from the public. This show, including some very candid photographs and interview with daughter Caroline, showed she was immature and shy. It was clear she really really loved Jack. Her life after he died was exemplary (sp?).

I didn't see it, but I heard some clips last night. Her little, breathy voice has always surprised me.......it seems so at odds with the strong person she was.

I agree about the "little breathy voice." I can't seem to get used to it or reconcile it with the woman. I don't know anyone with such a voice. . .and I don't know why it sounds affected to me. It reminds me of Marilyn Monroe, in fact! That said, I watched the interview with considerable interest. I am exactly Caroline Kennedy's age and thus recall, from my childhood, many of these events. I just saw the book at Barnes and Noble this morning hitting the shelves--bound to be a best seller!

An early closeup of her face had me exclaiming to DH how she resembled La Monroe. Then there was that whisper-y voice -- same thing. I'd never made the association before.

How nice to be 'marketable' even after you're long gone! ("Garbo Speaks" wouldn't have been a sales gambit if the public had heard her all along.)
