Its Mosquito Ring tones. I just hard about it.

The Mosquito Ringtone came about after a crafty British man who invented a device called The Mosquito, the Mosquito is a device that emits a very high frequency tone meant to annoy teenagers (adults are unable to hear the tone). Some crafty students decided to convert the same technology into a ring tone that only they (teenagers) could hear! By utilizing this free ringtone, you can get phone calls and receive text messages while in class or school without teachers knowing it.

This also a neat hearing test.

Hmmm interesting. I know my hearing isn't great (mid-40s) but what I am wondering is how loud my "volume" controls are supposed to be. Turned up full I am fine. Otherwise I am deaf!

Umm...that's great for the students, but is there a way to mask their voices when they talk on the phone so the teachers can't hear them talking....LOL?

Anyhow, this is a neat invention. Wonder what they'll think of next?

Just because a particular circumstance is NOT listed as exempt does NOT mean the law applies. "individual who for compensation or gain or in the expectation of compensation or gain" is referring to the loan origination process, not the underlying sale of the property. Relying on the governments attorneys for a legal opinion has no standing in court. It is the same as an Attorney General issuing an opinion. It is not binding, and cannot be used as a defense in court. If you want advice that is useful pay your attorney. Government likes regulation.

I do not think it was a place for a person to hide in because the locks were on the outside. If someone went in and the doors closed and locked, he'd be trapped. I did not see a way to operate the locks from the inside. If the locks could be tripped from the inside, it would be a perfect hiding place. You set the lock, enter the room and slam the door shut. A searcher would not have the combinations and could not open the door, He'd assume that there may be something important inside, but never suspect it was a person. It could have been a wine cellar. The paper money may be collectablies. Those bill may have had nominal value or there could have been a few that were very expensive. Those should be appraised. I sense these held value above the normal because thery were carefully enclosed in sealed mounts. Those items could have been a smuggler's cache. For example, back in the 1980s, it was illegal for US citizens to buy Chinese postage stamps. There existed a small scale smuggling operation. A relative living in Isarel would buy Chinese postage and bring it on his person to the US to give to a family member or partner. In exchange, the partner would give him something that was scarce in Israel. Its all speculation until we find more about the contents and the construction of the locks. It did not seem built right for a storm shelter that doubled for other uses. Not right for a bomb shelter as well. A bomb shelter would have had a supply of food and water and a weapon. 'Tis mysterious indeed.

kkny, a few years ago I was flamed for digging up information on SD's mom, her new BF at the time & communicating with the new BF's exW. Am I obsessed or psycho? I don't think so... obviously. But, I am diligent in having all the information. I did background checks on any guy I even THOUGHT about becoming serious with... I think EVERY man and woman should do that for their own sake, not just checking on your ex's new love interest. But, it should certainly be acceptable if not the law that when there are children involved, both parents should be allowed to investigate who their kids are around. Nobody in their right mind would take kids to a daycare without checking them out... even drop in on them to check from time to time. You can never be careful enough when your kids are involved. So, I'd like to know who you think is going to flame you... I think it's a great idea and I'll sign JNM's petition. and I also agree with you about not needing a man. I lived happily alone for 6 years after leaving my exBF. It was actually hard for me to decide to get into a serious relationship with my DH after being on my own so long... I liked my life & relationships mean sacrifice sometimes. It's also hard for me to understand why some people feel a need to be with someone... and it's not only women. As for the situation in Utah... the fear of not knowing what my DIL is also capable of is what plays over in my mind daily. When children are being raised... desensitized to violence, sex and personal relationships by the world they live in... the internet, cable TV, video games, movies, music, and growing up in dysfunctional broken homes.. kids have much more traumatizing events in their lives than just a generation or two ago. When I took my DIL to childbirth classes and they asked her what she hoped to gain from taking the class, she replied "I just want to get it out of me." and in the 14 months since he was born, I have seen a lack of empathy toward him, lack of bonding, lack of maternal instinct.... and it worries me every time she has him because I can easily imagine her in handcuffs for allowing DGS to be harmed.. or harming him herself. Of course, the courts need proof.. not a gut feeling or an incident or two that don't rise to the level of proof to do anything about it. I mean CPS drug tested DIL, she failed & they still did nothing. That was after it took them a week to even get around to talking to her... and she avoided them for three weeks. So, the system is not going to fix this problem. As I've said before, people need to slow down & make better choices. We all need to spend a lot more time teaching our kids to make the right choice in who to have children with. I think that was a mistake I made, I assumed my son would choose a nice girl... all the girls he liked in high school were quiet & sweet. and even if a mistake is made by choosing the wrong person, people need to be more diligent in standing up for the child. I wouldn't want to lay blame on the father because he will have to live with this the rest of his life... but he sure knew his ex & had some red flag warnings signs that he let go. I'm sure there were other people that saw things that were not right. Unfortunately, people don't want to get involved. It's also one of those situations of "who do I believe?" because there have been many cases of false accusations, especially during divorce & custody cases. I've been accused myself... and I have nothing to hide~ It sorta reminds me of the situation in Arizona with illegal immigrants, which is also a topic that may affect me as I am Mexican... people that are not doing anything wrong, should be willing to do whatever is needed so that the ones that are doing wrong can be caught. We all stop for a DUI checkpoint, airport security, or the guy standing at the door at a warehouse store that wants to check your receipt. Heck, they should hand each bride & groom a background printout of the other when they hand you the marriage license... "here, this is who you are marrying" and yes, a copy should be public... so the other parent, grandparents, or concerned neighbor can check it out too. and yes, I know it will never happen. Just a sad reality.

Yep, in July when I was with all of my sisters and their kids, my nephew showed it to me, he has it on his phone. At first I thought it was a joke (he is a budding magician) but it's amazing!! Joe and I have since researched it a bit on the internet and he downloaded a lot and got our friends and family to listen to them. Turns out I can hear one that most other adults cannot hear. But there are a few that I can't hear that kids can.

I had some fun with that... drove my kids nuts. LOL!! I found the point where it went just high enough I could not hear it but my kids could and did it over and over and over... Brought them running with hands over their ears. "MOM! What is that noise? It's driving me crazy!"

Mom asked innocently, "What noise? I don't hear anything."

So for keeping kids away from an area, I guess it would work! LOL!

ROFLMBO!!! A mom's gotta have some fun.

I did show the kids what I had done, which I'm sure I'll regret. DS 15 y/o did tell me a couple weeks ago about a kid in class who could make a strange sound with his phone that would make the teacher crazy trying to figure out where it came from. When he heard the different pitches, he said that's what the kid was doing.

I surprised the kids would want that. It was obviously very uncomfortable for my 15 and 12 y/o to listen to for very long.

Forget the kids getting away with stuff. I'm thinking I could set my ring tone to that and use that instead of silencing it when I'm in a classroom. Then when it rings, every kid in the room will wince, but I won't hear a thing.

I'm not mean enough to do that, just mean enough to think of it. ;o)

I can only hear the ones age 50 and up....I'm 63 and I've got pretty good hearing...I always have. What bothers me is noisey rooms.

I didn't hear a ringtone until the 12 khz. :( Back in the day, I was a disc jockey for a small school radio station and I listened to lots of loud music. Guess I'm paying for it now. My hearing isn't as great as I thought it was. :( I'm only 49 for crying out loud.

The kids have been utilizing that for quite a while now - My kids told me about it a long time ago. I heard about the Brits using it to chase kids off, LOL!

I don't think cell phones should be allowed in the school building at all -but that is my opinion. Not shared by many.

Like Rose I didn't hear the ringtone until 12 khz. Never been a dj like her, but do love to listen to loud music with headphones. To me my hearing is bad for being 51. I know I should stop it.

I guess it was too much hard rock when I was younger. I would turn up the recorder player to full volume. I couldn't hear a ringtone until the 12 khz (50 and younger). No wonder our 24 YO is always saying we have the TV too loud. And that's why all those actors with accents sound muffled. I hate to be losing my hearing at only 56.

I can hear the one that says 39 and younger, but barely. I'm 46. I played these for the kids the other day when you first posted them. They acted like they were in misery. LOL!

I can hear up to the 49 and younger I have never heard of this going to show it to my kids and see if they have? Stacy

Sweet Mother of Pearl!

I am in my mid 40's and the only one I couldn't hear was the very last one - the 22.4 khz. I could start hearing them at the next one - 21.1 khz.

I am really surprised. I guess I can hear fine, I just don't pay attention :)

I have the ears of a 12 year old and the attention span of a 2 year old...but the body of a 44 year old....sigh.....it just isn't fair.

Well I could hear up to the 14khz and DH could only hear the 8khz. but part of his problem is hearing loss from 6 years on a nuclear sub, the constant noise has really affected his hearing. DH is a teacher and computer coordinator and has played these for the students. I told him that he should put it as his ringtone, but also on vibrate so that when I call him it can drive the kids nuts.

I was just talking with a high school teacher tonight. She said the kids are not allowed to have their cell phones on in class. If a cell phone is on, the teacher may confiscate it and a parent has to come to school to retrieve the phone. My friend has only confiscated one this year (in study hall).

I can hear the one for everyone but not the next one.....and then I can hear the 12 megahertz one. Nothing after that.
I know I have moderate to severe hearing loss and will have to get hearing aids soon. (But they are so-ooooo expensive.)
