More prayers needed.

First it was my favorite 86 YO Uncle who fell and broke his hip. Then it was my 90 YO Mom who had chest pains and was diagnosed with a 50% decrease in heart use. Then I got an email from my oldest brother telling me he is getting a divorce.

Now I received this email from my closest cousin about her 14 YO grandson. I think this is the worse yet. Please include him in your prayers.

To all my prayerful friends and family,

I just got a call from my daugher, Renee, asking for prayers. Her 14-year-old son, Travis, and some friends were (foolishly) messing around with gasoline. She says he's being brought to Boston, has 2nd degree burns over 40% of his body (including his face).

PLEASE pray, pray, pray. I'm heading in there now. I'll update you later.

We just had to contend with closed roads around here due to flash floods. But elsewhere in Wisconsin, there are some wild water works going on. In Wisconsin Dells, a big tourist town in Wisconsin, a manmade lake drained completely! The lake was 245 acres in size. It drained into the Wisconsin River in about 2 hours. I wish my bathtub drained that fast! It took out a highway to get to the river and pulled along some sizable houses. Below is a video of some of the houses going into the water. Another town of 625 people in Wisconsin - Gay Mills - is seriously thinking of calling it quits. They just rebuilt from flooding that occurred last year and now they are up to their armpits in water again. Hello, WE are still hanging in there. DH has had 33 Radiology treatments. He is still having trouble swollowing and cannot taste his food. Which does not encourage him to eat-but he is trying. His radiologist said 33 treatments out of 38 was pretty good. So, we will see how good. I am going to start my 5th Chemo treatment this morning. It has got to be better than the last one. My hands and feet and tongue were swollen for almost 2 weeks. I'm sorry it has taken me so long to get back with you all. Happy smiles to you all. JLILY

Thank you so much for your prayers. I am not sure if Mike will be in rehab or not. I want so much to be there for him,but Jim will probably be starting radiation next week.We saw the Radiologist this afternoon and she says that it is good that Jim is not having pain in his hip.A lot of people wait until they are in pain and by that time the tumor is eating into the bone and he could have a broken hip or leg.Luckily they have been monitoring him all this time,so she thinks that things will go well. Mike doesn't have a tumor,it is several discs and a lot of nerve damage.Again, thank you for your prayers.They mean a lot to me.

What a terrible terrible thing. Prayers for all of you. One of my cousins was badly burned in an explosion, years ago and recovered very well. He wasn't burned to this extent but it was still a terrible ordeal.

Thanks for all the prayers. He is not out of the woods yet. Here is the latest and thanks from my cousin.

Travis is at the Shriners Burns Hospital. He's getting the best care.

We were told they won't know the full extent of his burns for at least 48 to 72 hours. It takes that long for burns "to declare themselves".

He's having surgery Friday just to clean out 3rd degree burns on his right shoulder and upper back. Most of the burns seem to be 2nd and should heal by themselves. The only skin grafting would be in the area of those 3rd degree burns. All of the burns are in his upper body, neck and face. There's nothing below his chest.

The good news is that Travis is very healthy and is in "stable" condition.

What a mess of troubles and problems our family members have suffered recently.

Good thoughts and hopes going your way for uneventful healing that's as complete as possible.
