What's for dinner Friday?

I found curried meatballs in the freezer so we're having those over rice with some sliced beets. I'm really too tired to eat. All packed to leave tomorrow, but still have some last minute stuff to do (like mop the kitchen floor). I like to come home to a clean house.

Hamburger steak with grilled onions
squash croquette
green bean casserole

Leftover chili soup, crackers and a nectarine. Gonna miss you, have a great trip.

Sue, glad you were able to get out and about. I see Indpls. weather in our newspaper. Like to look since DB lives in Greensburg. We only got up to 49 today--or so the paper said. Just heard we should have 70 on Monday, though. Glenda--haha! Hope you enjoyed that tamale. I had a pork tamale a couple of years ago at a little bakery that sells other things on the side. It was homemade and pretty good. Raven, happy birthday to your DH and have a wonderful dinner. I think yours sounds delicious! Shirley, isn't it fun to read restaurant menus? Sure is hard to make up one's mind sometimes! Especially if I'm hungry!! You must be having meatless Friday tonight. We used to do Monday's. (But not every Monday.) Rhizo, I will be right there! Oh, I do love sausage gravy. Now I'll be dreaming about it!! Jasdip, a turkey breast really goes a long way, doesn't it? Okay by me, I love it. Nice dinner--does your cabbage soup have a lot of different veggies in it? Mine does. I use the recipe from the cabbage soup diet. Very yummy!

Kayjones: I'll take one of each. Haven't had either one in a long time. Sue: You do eating right by not eating a full meal when you're only hungry for a banana. I'd have to add it to a bowl of oatmeal. lol The bananas haven't looked good in my area lately so haven't bought any for about a month. Jasdip: Your entire meal sounds like something I'd like to try. I'll take a small amount of each. Mary: What did you put in your shells? Ravencajun: I like your kind of soup. I often do that myself. Toasted bread to go with it ... that should really make you feel better. Old Fixer: Hold the ketchup and I'll join you at your table. That's one of my favorite comfort meals. Shirley

I also wish more restaurants would offer half portions or something similar. I'm not sure about dinner yet. It's 8pm & DH is working an hour & a half away. He'll probably end up grabbing something on the way home. In that case, I'll just make myself a sandwich & have some fruit & yogurt. I have enough stuffed pepper mix to make a batch tonight, but I've had a headache for several hours & don't really feel like doing that. It's actually supposed to be sunny here tomorrow. I'm trying to get some household things done in spite of the headache so I can spend some time at the pool tomorrow.

Glenda, he liked it a lot. But he would've loved those fried chicken thighs. Georgysmom, I won't have to cook tomorrow either. My potatoes was huge and Harry's dinner serves 2 (or in his case 3). Joann, I've never made or eaten potato pancakes that I remember but people sure do love them. I would like the veggies in teriyaki--how did you do that? Lindalou, just be glad Jim's getting rid of something in the frig. But your dinner sounds better. Sue, you really are working way too hard. Hope you can get a break from all that hot canning for a few days this weekend. Really, you need a break, my dear!! Shirley, that sounds so good. Thanks for the milk tip. Wish I 'd read it before dinner. I will do that on the leftover potato tomorrow. I had quite a bad time of it so drank a Kellogg's Special K drink and ate some Kozy Shack tapicoa. Jasdip--wow, what a great price on Napa. That's probably my favorite cabbage. And it's so pretty!! That's a good way to package the peaches because people think you squeeze them to see if they're ripe--wrong--just smell them. I hope there were vents in them. Raven, all good things must come to an end--sigh! At least you know your DH is going to be a happy guy tonight (happy to see you even more than the home-cooked meal).

Stovetop meatloaf "muffin", fresh green beans, and potatoes cooked in w/them.

We are having Mahi Mahi fish, steamed rice and a vegetable.

Patti you and Harry have a wonderful time on your trip. I too always like to come home to a clean house. My cleaning lady will have cleaned house the day I come back from my trip to Ohio. LOL

Been busy today. Did all the grocery shopping for Wednesday's dinner except for the lettuce and tomatoes. Cleaned the pantry, dusted the cobwebs from the ceiling in great room and kitchen. GR is two stories so it required climbing to the top step of the ladder and using an extension pole (an old ball retriever) with lots of rags tied around it. I hate ladders but I did it. Also made the margaritas and froze them and potted some new plants for the front porch. DH heated up the leftover Chinese. Now that that's gone, I guess I'll have to cook again. LOL

Thank you gals, I'll really miss all of you, too. Nita, you're a stinker :-) I'm excited about going, but gotta go to bed soon!

DD#5 was here, and I just fixed egg salad sandwiches and sliced tomatoes. Was just so hungry for that.
