We too had a sunny day here in central Indiana. My supper was an orange sweet pepper, sliced and cooked with sliced onion and smoked sausage with some spaghetti sauce on it. Had a roll on the side and milk to drink.

Another gorgeous day today, sunny all day.

Neither of us particularly hungry, so I made myself some oatmeal.
The pulled pork will wait until tomorrow.

Steaks and sautéed fresh green beans in olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and garlic.

Played golf today and near froze to death. It was suppose to be 70 and Partly cloudy. Well, it never reached 70, mid sixties maybe but it was very cloudy and windy. When you're not dressed for it, it's mighty cold. Our golf was followed by a luncheon. Hot butternut squash soup which was delicious, a tossed salad, a scoop of chicken salad and a fruit kabob. The hot soup was most welcomed. Not feeling hungry tonight, maybe a bowl of hot oatmeal, maybe nothing.

Zipped down to the sand box for Happy Hour after the Dr. this first full day of Fall. Glad to see weight is still going up. Gourmet dining with fresh Lake Perch, the delicacy fish of the Midwest. Coated, and fried of course. Fresh cut fries. Fresh grated cole slaw. A garden tomato. A big mug of cold beer. Apple Pie. Need something to snack on now.

It all sounds good! I'm hungry and mine is still in the oven. I did some grocery shopping and bought some of the longest carrots I've ever seen in my life! wondered if they'd fit in the fridge. lol! I'm working on my first window reglazing project ever, and while priming my storm windows I decided I wanted to roast a chicken and have sides of brown rice and mixed roasted vegetables. :)

Really weird, but it's the first time in my life I've used an oil-based paint!!! :p

Yesterday I cooked some turkey necks backs and giblets. Today I made homemade noodles for the soup. It was so good. I have enough turkey to make DH some fried turkey with onions for tomorrow night and enough soup left over for a couple of meals

We had a family dinner tonight-son, d-in-law, grandsons and my sister. Roast pork with lots of garlic, gravy, mashed and French fries and salad. Homemade pumpkin roll for dessert. Lots of laughter.

dinner was a last minute (we thought we had a cross county meet, but dgd was sick) so finished up our fish sticks...fell for the ads for the Hawaiian rolls but forgot just how sweet they are? so the rest are going to become French toast or bread pudding...

I picked up veggies for stew(enough meat for 2-3 meals), and 2 bakers for cream chip beef...(or as it's known in the navy sos)

Had lunch and a movie with my son, Alex. Hadn't spent time with him in awhile.

Deli salad and cranberry juice. I could drink Paul Newman's olive oil and vinegar straight from the bottle. The best salad dressing I have ever had, and have been addicted to it for years.

Sue: I like the combo you made for your meal. I'll bet it would be good on spaghetti too.

Jasdip: It's nice to be able to change up your menu when needed. I like my oatmeal with fruit and a few walnuts.

Raven: You have my mouth watering just reading what you are having.

Georgysmom: I love butternut squash soup. Your entire lunch would have been my choices too. Supposed to get warmer as the week wears on.

Old Fixer: That sounds like one great meal! Will you have ice cream on that pie?

Party: Chicken, rice, vegetables... bet your house smells good.

Bengardening: Turkey and homemade noodles, a meal fit for royalty. Plus you'll have leftovers.

Pam: Can I join the family so I can join the dinners? It all sounds so lip-smacking good.

Susan: I really would like to have some of your homemade SOS. The Hawaiian rolls were too sweet for me too.

Kathsgrdn: That sounds like a quick, easy and good meal. Glad you got to be with Alex.

Deeby: I've never tried Newmans salad dressings. Might have to check them out. Wish they had trial sizes.

Much cooler here than I'd like. It was only 60 when I left work. Rainy too.

DH is on a business trip. I worked 12 hrs. today. Stopped by Taco Bell on the way home for a quesadilla.

Coming back to say that the house does smell great, Shirley!!! and the food was fab!!! :)

georgysmom, we've played in two golf scrambles where I thought we literally would freeze to death!!! The first time was played at the end of a September up in the hills... it was around 52F at the start of the round and the temp kept dropping. It was snowing and sleeting with high winds when we still had 3 holes to finish! The second time was played in mid May... the forecast high was 70F but they were WAY off... the actual high for that day was 42F and it was windy and raining/drizzling all day and nobody was dressed for it! One of our playing partners was actually turning purple as we tried to finish the last hole. :p

We had breakfast for dinner tonight....I tried Bob's Red Mill Organic 7 Grain pancake mix for the first time. It's not for the faint of heart but we really liked it! I used almond milk instead of cow's milk.

Cooked up some ham sausage and made a bowl of cut fresh fruit and a yogurt/honey dip.

Partymusicâ¦..your golf game sounds dreadful. Today was the third day of a three day tournament. We were up there so continued to play. The format today was a two person Captain's choice. My back starting hurting after the first shot so I pretty much let my partner carry the ball. If her shot was good, I opted not to hit, saving my back for when needed. I pretty much came through when I did have to hit except on the last hole. A par 3 over water. My partner was in the bunker so I hit. I planned on having a hole-in-one (hope springs eternal) but wound up in the water instead. I did have a good shot out of the sand, though. One foursome decided they weren't in contention so they quit and came in for an Irish coffee. Unfortunately,since we were in contention we continued on. Should have stopped for the Irish coffee! LOL

Everyone's dinner sounded good. Now that it's getting cooler, I just might start cooking again.
