Have to catch my friend when she's in town for catchup chat time and today was the day.

Tellini's Italian and she had their fresh tomato and Mozzarella panini with fresh fruit.

I had the small plate: Two Italian sausage links with peppers, marinara and Mozzarella.

Ordered a basket of their Italian rolls. Delicious and served with marinara. Friend and I each ate one and her hubby Jack will enjoy the other 4.

I had my leftover lunch from yesterday from Cracker Barrel, dumplings, pinto beans, fried okra, carrots, coleslaw and a biscuit. I had my own iced tea.

We were out for lunch again today--the restaurant at the Amish market had a special of a little bowl of mac and cheese topped with the best and sweetest stewed tomateos I've ever eaten. It was delicious, just a small serving that was just right on a day we were doing a bunch of errands.

Tonight? Meatball sandwiches (yes, still those frozen meatballs from DH's retirement party in July) on fresh rolls from the Itlaian bakery, and pasta salad from the Amish.

The tarragon chicken salad sounds good--have been meaning to pick up a rotisserie chicken from a local poultry farm that does them. Maybe one day next week.

Just pasta here. I was out raking the leaves and my neighbour who lives below had his barbecue one, with baked potatoes and steaks. Oh my Lord. Pasta isn't too appealing right now. ;-/

I am going to bread and fry Tilapia, also going to flour and fry an eggplant I bought for 79 cents at the Commissary. Will have tossed salad to go with it. Mike will want some steamed rice.

Tired myself out running errands in the rain, and visiting with my special needs sister in the Home. She lifted my spirits. I took her a small tablet with a monkey face on it, and pages were cut in that shape. I told her I'd brought her a picture of one of our other sisters. When she saw it, she got the giggles. Now she can't wait till the other sister comes again so she can tease her with it.

After all of that, I was glad to just put a pizza in the oven for my evening meal. The fact that it was on sale made it my own 'happy meal'.

Glenda, I had a hard time decided which of your two meals I'd rather have. Right now I'm leaning toward the mozzarella/tomato panini. Both sound so good. Glad you got a good visit time. You're poor jaw is going to be very tired by the end of the week! :-)

Azzalea, wish we could get fresh chicken around here, but if it's available, I haven't found it. Also wish we had an Amish community. They have a rather large one in Sarastoa, but that's a little far to travel. Lucky you to have leftover meatballs!!

Nita--eggplant for 79 cents? Wow! We had tilapia--when? Last night? Well, it was one night this week. Isn't it good! No "fishy" taste.

Shirley, you make me smile. Glad your sister liked her notepad. Bet she'll pull that joke on all your sisters. We ordered pizza the other night and Harry had a cold slice for lunch. Declared it pretty good. It was a Hawaiian pizza with ham, bacon and pineapple.

Jasdip, I don't blame you a bit for not wanting the pasta after smelling steak on the grill. My gosh, not a lot that smells better than that.

Pasta Puttanesca and a tossed salad. Today was "Lunch Bunch" day. I had lunch at a very nice restaurant in town with ten other ladies in the group....catfish and stirred fried veggies. It was good and I was not that hungry tonight but had a very small plate of pasta and some salad.

Jody had a ham sandwich and cantaloupe and I had cantaloupe. I have eaten too much today...and forgot to take anything out of the freezer.

We had homemade french bread pizzas. They were good for a change from regular pizza.

Made turkey enchiladas for DH. I'm so tired of turkey right now, I don't care if I never see another one. And there is still plenty left. Maybe one big pot of turkey and dumplings this weekend will take care of it.

Veggie soup.
With Lima, Blue Lake and October beans galore coming out of the garden it's regular fare this time of year. The carrots are from last fall (they freeze well enough for soup). I should say Beef/Veggie soup as I cube up about 1/2 pound of whatever lean beef is on sale at the grocers.

I would brag about the healthiness of my dinner except the truth is there will be a calorie busting gooey grilled cheese sandwich alongside. :(
