Can you spare a good thought?

If you have an extra good thoughts, can you please send some for my sister?

Some of you older KT'ers may remember I've spoken of her and the life she was living with this druggie loser.

Long,long,awful long story months and months of it.Not enough time to post it all. ANyway, my 2 DB's and both DSisIL's and I went up to get her and load up as much of her belongings as we could a couple nights ago. SHe NEEDS help! Guess what? it isn't easy to get. She NEEDS a place to live!! Guess what? even if you've been living in your car, you can't just get housing ASAP. Her money was taken by loser druggie ex (I hope)BF. She has lost probably 80% of her belongings to loser ex BF taking them or trashing them and I do mean trashing them. She is staying here with her MinPin. (who my Chi doesn't like!) I don't know for how long or what we will do.

Just send a good thought if you will. I hope we can get her on the road to who she was almost 3 years ago.

How terrific it is that her family is helping her. I pray she can get herself straight. Having a family member caught up in drugs and drinking, I know the heart ache. I hope this story will have a happy ending. ((((Hugs)))) to you all. Dottie

Connie, I also know the heartache and the difficulty involved in someone getting turned in the right direction. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Your sister is blessed to have a caring family.

Sorry the doc wasn't what you were hoping for. Sometimes it takes a couple of visits to get comfortable. Other times it takes visits to a few different docs to find one you like. I think the drug I take is the one they usually start with. Then if that doesn't seem to help, they move up the ladder to stronger stuff. I have been fortunate that it helps me and I haven't had to move on to "bigger and better" drugs! Chin up, girl! I don't know if it is even an option but what about the new procedure with Laser. I have rescued animals for years. If I found them a home, fine. If I didn't find them a home they stayed with me. Sassy is a full blooded lab I rescued years ago, now 10. She could not get up where I had to physically get my arms around her the best I could and lift her up. My vet explained about the new laser treatment where they run a laser over the problem area. Sassy had 2 sessions and is much better unless she's on tile or the wood floor. She is also on Deramax. I may not have spelled that right. My vet told me that there have been amazing results. Normally the max is 6 sessions, if needed. I saw the difference almost immediately. Sassy was getting up by herself after the 2nd session. They cost $60 a session. She's not as good as she used to be but neither am I. Getting older does change things. I do hope perhaps this is an option. Saying goodbye does not get easier, it hurts even more now. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. Take care Lynn in Alabama

Oh Lydia I think what you're doing is wonderful. I am not sure the people in my DSIL Steve's life knew what a blessing they were to DD and Steve. Thanks. My other brother called after David came home from the appointment. He is already looking for another spaniel. He said something about the vet knowing someone who had some. I'm glad he's getting another dog. He lives alone and Brutis was the only other one in the house with him. ) :

I'm glad your sister is finally out of that situation and that she has family who care enough to help her get the help she needs. I hope she makes it this time.

I do remember you talking of your sis. I know what you are going through is so hard. Been there. It is horrible. I pray that she stays away from the X, boredom will be her worst enemy. Please keep her busy!

Not going well tonight at all.
I don't even know where to go at this point. She is an adult and I obviously can talk til I am blue in the face and she will do what she wants.
I can't see her live this way!!! I know I can't let her use me as a crutch either.
I am pretty sure she is upset with both DB and I. She left with her dog 5 hours ago. I have her car keys so they are on foot. I don't know if she will come here in the middle of the night or tomorrow or what? We lock our doors when we go to bed, so then what?
My head hurts so bad....its only been 2 days I'm not sure I can live like this for a month which is what it will be until she can find a place to live.

Connie, I am sorry. It is so hard to help someone who won't help themselves. Sounds like she may be on drugs too. If not, she certainly is addicted to a bad relationship. You can do what you can do, but there is a point where you have to stop because you can't enable her. She is fortunate to have someone who loves her and wants to help her, but getting her to accept help....well, it is just a heartbreak. Sending good thoughts to you and I hope she will see this as a chance to make her life better. You can only do what you can do. Bless you for trying.

She didn't come back here. Her and the dog spent the night at the storage place where her things are. Its not heated and darn cold her this morning. DB went and peeked in a window at 7 am this morning. Saw rhe dog and we know she is ok...or well she is not hurt.

Oh, Connie, this breaks my heart. I can't imagine how hard it is for you to watch this.

I know how badly you want to help her. I'll pray that she finds the strength to know that you're doing all you're doing out of love for her, and fear of the lifestyle she's been in.

I know you're in a small town, but isn't there any help available? If your community has a United Way drive, they would know what agencies may be able to help your sister. (Just a thought.)
