Can you all say a little prayer or send good thoughts

for my brother this morning? My dad just called and my brother, David, is having to put his dog down this morning. His appointment is in a few minutes. Brutis hasn't been eating and drinking so they took him to the vet and found a tumor under his tongue and it's spread to other areas. Can't even remember where my dad said, because I was in shock. This dog is a Brittany Spaniel, one of those ultra hyper, annoying dogs (lol) that jump all over you when you are near. I can't even imagine him sick. Poor dog.

I feel horrible for my brother, his last dog got hit by some guy speeding to church. The impact broke her back and he had to put her down too.

Oh how very sad, so sorry he is going through this. I hope he knows how kind he is being by letting him.

Awww I hate hearing this. Our pets are such a comfort and big part of our lives. Hugs to him.

The funeral was this morning. It was beautiful, & it was the most heartbreaking thing I ever saw. Beautiful church, with beautiful flowers in tiers upon tiers, filling the entire end of the sanctuary where the pulpit was.. & 4 caskets, 1 just about half the size of the others. 3 ministers, 4 eulogies, 1 for a 6-year-old & 1 for a 3-year-old. What can you say in a eulogy for a first-grader? for a toddler? They said Michael was smart as a whip & loved the water & asked pointed questions & never met a stranger. They said little Landon was born in perpetual motion & brought a smile to every face. & Landon, a surprise baby, may have saved his mother's life: Had she not had a sonogram, the cancer that was growing inside her might not have been discovered until too late. Thanks to everyone for your thoughts, prayers, & good wishes. It means a lot to me & to my family.

sorry the pic is fuzzy, she was moving fast! She keeps very busy eating (but still no yogurt; vickie's family must not be the only non-yogurt-eating critters!), playing, & sleeping. & growing: She likes to sit in my lap while I'm at the computer, & she's already so long that I have to sit on one edge so her back end can rest on the other side of the chair!

4 years ago, I lost my dear cousin and her son to a similar accident. They were driving home from a vacation and her husband fell asleep at the wheel and rolled their vehicle. My cousin was 9 months pregnant and had taken her seatbelt off to be comfortable and her 13 year old son had taken his seatbelt off to lay down in the seat and sleep. They were both thrown from the car and killed along with the baby my cousin was carrying. Her other 4 children and their father survived. It is devastating. I tell people all the time...if you are tired....DO NOT DRIVE. The cost of a motel rooom is not worth the risk. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Just got this email: the doctor got the bulk of the tumor and there were some crevices that it started to grow in that he scraped so there are some remaining cancer cells. he said he didn't cut thru anything major so he's hoping that if he has any peralysis that it will be temporary. they are stitching him up right now and they are hoping that he doesn't have to go to icu but that has yet to be determined. so the goal right now is to get him better asap and get the radiation started to kill off the cancer cells that remained. the doctor noted that it did not grow back in the brain. he said it was kind of funny that right where the proton therapy ended the tumor began. he said the proton must have worked! so amazing.

Thanks. My other brother called after David came home from the appointment. He is already looking for another spaniel. He said something about the vet knowing someone who had some. I'm glad he's getting another dog. He lives alone and Brutis was the only other one in the house with him. ) :

Oh, Kath, I hate that so bad for him. It's always so sad to go through that. Hope he gets a new puppy and loves him everyday in honor of Brutis.
