Can you all say a little prayer or send good thoughts

for my brother this morning? My dad just called and my brother, David, is having to put his dog down this morning. His appointment is in a few minutes. Brutis hasn't been eating and drinking so they took him to the vet and found a tumor under his tongue and it's spread to other areas. Can't even remember where my dad said, because I was in shock. This dog is a Brittany Spaniel, one of those ultra hyper, annoying dogs (lol) that jump all over you when you are near. I can't even imagine him sick. Poor dog.

I feel horrible for my brother, his last dog got hit by some guy speeding to church. The impact broke her back and he had to put her down too.

Oh how very sad, so sorry he is going through this. I hope he knows how kind he is being by letting him.

Awww I hate hearing this. Our pets are such a comfort and big part of our lives. Hugs to him.

Poor babies, that is an adorable face. Hope she's continuing to fight. More prayers coming their way. Can't we consider that animal cruelty ? to keep on having puppies knowing that Parvo is in the soil ? Doesn't it stay viable for years ? I have little patience or respect for folks like them. Used to you could buy the puppy shots at places like Gebos for about $3. a vial, don't know what the price is now but it's something everyone thinking about having puppies should look into & learn how to give. GRRRR I'm like Sally, somebody slap some sense into them. Barb, you're a hoot but I can understand how you feel. Missy our Lab had an appt for Spaying but jumped the fence went to the neighbor's jumped his fence to play with his Great Dane. Later with 9 puppies we were both a wreck. I cried when each one got a new home & then cried when they were all gone cause it was so nice & quiet without them. Missy never liked small dogs after that, thought they might want to nurse I guess. I'm checking in, and wanted to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone for all your support. We got the news on the road, while on the way to a windpower conference and the last fews days have felt pretty dark. I won't see Luna until Saturday, which feels weird since she's always gone with us when we traveled. It's truly a Mercury Retrograde moment, since this is old ground I have covered once before with our last golden. I'm trying to focus like a laser on the fact that she's feeling better for this day, and remind myself that the present is just that...a gift. Peppi, I'll check my mail as soon as I get home. David, I saw your post about Lucy and wanted so much to respond, but your story flooded me with my own memories of my last golden who had lung cancer, and I couldn't see the keyboard to let you know that. Please know you were (and still are) in my thoughts, even though I couldn't say so at the time. I'm so appreciative for all of you. I'm taking my girl swimming as soon as she can go; it's one of her favorite things to do and we're going to do it as much as we can while she feels like it. I keep looking for the blessings, and count all of you as mine.

4 years ago, I lost my dear cousin and her son to a similar accident. They were driving home from a vacation and her husband fell asleep at the wheel and rolled their vehicle. My cousin was 9 months pregnant and had taken her seatbelt off to be comfortable and her 13 year old son had taken his seatbelt off to lay down in the seat and sleep. They were both thrown from the car and killed along with the baby my cousin was carrying. Her other 4 children and their father survived. It is devastating. I tell people all the time...if you are tired....DO NOT DRIVE. The cost of a motel rooom is not worth the risk. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

That's just too sad. Sending good thoughts for your brother, I know how hard it is to say goodbye to a furbaby.

Thanks. My other brother called after David came home from the appointment. He is already looking for another spaniel. He said something about the vet knowing someone who had some. I'm glad he's getting another dog. He lives alone and Brutis was the only other one in the house with him. ) :

Oh, Kath, I hate that so bad for him. It's always so sad to go through that. Hope he gets a new puppy and loves him everyday in honor of Brutis.
