Jannie, may I be your thyroid sister?

I hope your neck is feeling better than mine. After months of neck pain, coughing (not related), inner ear pain (not infection) and several other issues my doctor finally sent me to three specialists. A podiatrist, a dermatologist, and an Ears/Nose/Throat specialist.

I've been poked and prodded and tested and pulled this-way-and-that for the past three months or so.

The ENT is the one that has me on edge. They keep coming up with what I don't have, but no solutions for what I do have.

Finally they did an Cat Scan on my neck (found out I have TMJ?). One of the doctors wanted a better look and asked for an ultrasound on the thyroid. I have two "nodules" that he wanted to biopsy.

They did the biopsy Friday. I insisted they give me some sort of sedation. Finally, they gave in and gave me a drop of something; I can't remember what. It made me fuzzy enough that I could relax and let them start poking.

They said I may get the results Tuesday, but I'm not holding my breath.

My neck is sore, but not painful. It has a black bruise about the size of a half-dollar and a nasty red hole where they kept putting the needle in. He said he took three samples from each nodule.

What really hurts is the IV site. They did not use the baby-size butterfly needle, and I'm paying for it now. IVs, or even the needles for taking blood, will not stay in my veins. I have to re-educate each person to use the smallest needle possible with the butterfly connector. I don't know why that simply be part of my medical info so when I can't speak they know what to do.

Every time my neck has throbbed, I've remembered you're experiencing this too and I'm wishing you the best.
