Good news about my cousin!!!!!

I just this minute got a call from her daughter Karen. The happiness in her voice was wonderful to hear. Terry came through the surgery well. They're watching her very closely, but everyone is optimistic.

I'm so relieved.

My heartfelt thanks to everyone who was pulling and praying for her.

Thank you, everyone, and Yayagal, it's nice of you to put it that way. Barbara and I are one month apart in age and have always had a good relationship even though we've almost always lived in different states. Our contact got more frequent after we were both widowed--and more frequent still after we got phone plans that allowed some free calling! It even survived the Presidential election, about which we heartily disagreed. Trish, I have one stinky boy cousin. He doesn't paint; nor does he knit. I never hear from him. :-)

Hi Trin, I will certainly keep you, and your friend and her family in my thoughts any prayers. This very thing happened to a very close friend. He actually had a seizure in my front yard - I just held him in my arms and it was over just as quickly as it started. The lung cancer was just a very small piece of it. He had surgery and all seemed to be OK. Shortly thereafter, the brain tumor returned - it was a very aggressive form of cancer that he could not overcome. It was almost exactly a year after the initial seizure. He was such a strong person - physically, mentally and emotionally. It was such a shock to see that happen. I can imagine how you must feel. Update. My cousin is out of intensive care and in a regular room as of a few days ago. He hasn't talked yet, is on feeding tube. He did motion for his sister to come over to him and he gave her a kiss. It sounds like this is going to be a long recover for him. My uncle lost his other son 9 years ago or more to a undiagnosed nerve degenerative disease. He didn't have regular insurance and was treated through the VA. I have heard of horrible things about the VA's care so I just don't think they gave him proper care. He was such a strong, vibrate, good looking man. It was really sad.
