I was in Phoenix for the past few days attending a funeral. Yesterday I went clothes shopping which I hate. Then I had the almost 4 hour drive back home. I was glad to get out of the heat in Phoenix and back to our cool climate.

In between cooking food to take to my parents today, I did some quilting. Not eventful, but pleasant...and the weather was beautiful.

Anna had a TaeKwonDo exhibition yesterday at 11am. After that was over I took her to my mother's house. They were going to a fish fry at the church. I called one of Bob's sons to meet me at my friend's house. The tv she had was too large for the smaller house she just moved into, so I bought it from her and had Bob's ds and a friend put it in the truck and then take it upstairs when we got back home so I could replace Anna's tiny little tv with that much larger one. Anna's room is the bonus room over the garage, so it is fairly large. That big, heavy tv fits in there just fine. She is going to be so surprised when she comes home this afternoon.
Yesterday evening I just skimmed through some cook books that I'm giving to my dd. I wanted to see if there were any unique recipes I wanted to copy before getting rid of the books.

I worked on organizing my family room, cleaned the kitchen, did laundry and worked in my flower garden. I also ran some errands.

I had some friends over for a cook out and later after dark my hubby, myself and bestest girlfriend got in the pool...it was heavenly. Girlfriends hubby and our single guy friend would not get in the pool after dark. What a couple of wusses. Our pool is right outside out back door...porch lights blazing and our "skitter" lamps burning. I enjoyed it so much...we also were laughing at the guys on the porch being such chicken livers. I wonder if they thought "bugger eggs" was going to come out of the woods and get them if they got in the pool...LOL

I made a bunch of sandwiches early in the morning, then went to a baby shower. Came home, read on-line and listened to Dave Ramsey's Friday radio program, read the newspaper I had picked up on my way to the shower in the morning, did a load of dishes. Also made a list so I could go grocery shopping today.

Went to town to get some new sweaters as the season has certainly changed! Organized some visual aide cards for work. Got some wood to rebuild some supports downstairs and did some laundry.

Got up yesterday morning and made pancakes for breakfast. (DGD was here.) Loaded in the truck and drove to Jacksonville, AR for a softball tournament. (Older DGD was playing.) Saw the first game - they won 14-1. Second game - they lost 2-1. They weren't going to play again until 9:00 p.m., so we came home. Got Roxie (my dog) out and we walked two miles. Watched tv and then went to bed.

Oh, in the middle we had lunch at a great Chinese buffet! LOL

Hubby wants to ride my horse on a trail ride so we took her to a small show to get her around some other horses. She about bucked him off at first (he bailed off), but he let her stand and stew tied to the trailer a few hours and she behaved when he got back on. He got a 3rd place ribbon in a catalogue race (you ride to the end of the ring to a barrel with a catelogue on it and find the page the announcer tells you to and bring it back). After all the aggravation and work to get her ready and settled down, it was a fun day. Kathy

We went for a bike ride. Then, back home, already hot and sweaty we worked in the shed to built something to hold the bikes upright. Then I did some weeding till the skeeters got really bad.

Inside, some TV and finally puter time and bed.

Oh, lets not forget the meals... :)
breakfast, lunch and supper, with some snacks between.

My Sweetie Pie came up and spent the morning w/ me. We made "Dinosaur Food" and read a stack of books. Right before she left the man from the elec. company showed up to fix my wires that had been hanging down in the back yard for a week. Was I ever glad to see him.
Then DH and I went to Kilgore to see an old gent in a nursing home there. From there we went to the boats and had a wonderful meal at the Horseshoe. They have bread pudding to die for. Didn't win a thing.

DH took his 2 DDs on a father/daughter cruise out of NYC for the weekend. I did 4 loads of laundry, caught up on mail from last week, and took out all the fall decorations for around the house. Watched 2 chick flicks and then ate a whole container of brussel sprouts! (DH hates them!)

I drove for 6.5 hours from Savannah to home here in Largo, after a 4 week stay in PA. Friday was a blast. I had driven 7 hours that day to Savannah from Raleigh area and upon arriving, we spent a lazy afternoon on River St in Savannah, on a 2nd floor balcony terrace restaurant...eating oysters, enjoying cocktails & watching the ships on the river, shoppers and an incredible man who played sax for tips.
I have done NOTHING today..as I'm exhausted! But...when I saw the big smile on my granddaughter's face when I completed her 'Princess room', it was worth all of the time, effort & money!!

Don't yell at me! It's DH's fault LOL!

We went and bought a 10 week chocolate lab puppy. The past 29 years we have always had rescue dogs, and some were NOT great pets, but we took them anyway.

Two years ago our last dog and cat both passed away. We both said no more pets ever.. we were tired of getting our hearts broken.( famous last words)

We were talking for the past few months about another dog. But, we really wanted a dog that was ours from the start and we could enjoy it, instead of trying to retrain a old dog from bad habits, and behaviors.

We are in love this morning with this little brown dog...Kathy

I did housework in the a.m... went to bank, dropped stepdaughter off at soccer, went to Kohl's to do some clothes shopping, stopped at TJ Maxx, came home and mowed the lawn, took my daughter to work, showered, then we had a party to go to at 6:00 pm.. got home around 10:00 and went to bed..

Just can't find what I'm looking for!

So many things, mostly work. Took everything off the deck, sprayed it, scrubbed it some. Rinsed it off. Went shopping for a while. Put fly repellent on both horses. Mowed about an acre of grass. Pulled weeds.
Pulled everything out of the ceiling fan box so my dh could get a hint that HE could put it up in the bedroom. (it looks nice up there today :)
Made a couple meals, swept the kitchen/dining room. Folded loads of clothes. I forget what else. I'm losing my mind.

Well... I spent 2 hours of the day at the "Bridal Village" dress shop being fitted for a dress for DD wedding next Sat..
I ordered a 2 piece dress 3 months ago. After measuring me, they ordered the dress. When it arrived, the skirt fit perfectly but the top was so tight I could not raise my arms. They reordered it 2 sizes larger and put a rush on it to arrive Sept. 5. When it came, it was so large that the beading on the dress made it droop and the neck was so large that my straps were showing. After several trips back to try it on with different alterations, I was told to come Sat. afternoon. It is now too small and there is nothing more that can be done to it.
So...we looked at other dresses in the shop and I tried on several till I found one that fit better but still too large. While I waited, she took the sleeves out and re-set them higher and cut them off to make it a short sleeve dress. I don't like this dress nearly as well I the orginal but at least I THINK I will have a dress to wear Saturday. I go in after work tomorrow and hope it will fit.
We are leaving Tuesday to drove down to where the wedding will be held... so this is it. My only back-up is the dress I wore to DS's wedding last year. I'm taking it along just incase DD hates the new dress.

Vannie, What is "Dinosaur Food?" It sounds like way too much to eat, so I would most likely like it!

We had all our kids and grandkids over for dinner (noon) and afternoon fun. One of our 3 kids (batcheller son) couldn't come.

I made a simple meal (I'm getting smarter in my old age.) We had meatloaf, twice baked potatoes, steamed green beans, tossed salad, jello/fruit for the kids, and cantalope bread. Almost all was made earlier in the week. Desert later was apple crisp and cinnamon ice cream.

After dinner the "guys" went out back to play a small game of baseball. Our 5 year DGS LOVES baseball! He is getting to be quite a slugger! We 3 girls stayed inside and tried out the new expresso machine I bought at a garage sale the day before. It proved to be quite a bargin for $6. Later we walked to the park for a short time. After one family had to leave, the rest of us went to check out our city's new Library, because it was Grand Opening Day. DH was very empressed as usual, he said it was just a place with a bunch of books! The best part about it was that they had a nice big parkinglot instead of the on street parking downtown.

It was a good day!
