What? And hang up my Capri's? I guess many Organizations and Clubs don't meet during the Summer Months. Maybe after a Summer of casual wear women are ready to dress up a little.

I've got a feeling next Summer Capri's will be totally out. The new Bermuda/Walking Short is probably going to take over.

I just detest long skirts on short stubby people (like myself). Don't you realize you look like a Float in a Parade, when you can barely see your feet?

What length skirt or dress is in for Fall? I go just below my knee.

I have my jeans with the pocket ripped off, on right now. I hopped out of the tractor and the pocket stayed attached to the door handle - whoops!

No, but I haven't been anywhere very much lately, either. I tell ya what - from the long shorts and capris in length there are a multitude of sins that can be (kind of) hidden on this old body! LOL

DIL and DGDS have gotten me to try on the longer length shorts and I just look awful! Maybe it's because I have just gotten so used to capris (they're not really flattering, either!) that I don't care anymore, but I think I look stupid in the long shorts.

Yes...I've heard that many businesses, especially professional offices, have initiated "recovery" dress suggestions from the "Business casual-deteriorated to grunge" look.

I think many women are getting tired of pants, and welcome an occasional skirt or dress.

Yes, there are alot more dresses and skirts out there these days, especially in the business world. My only problem is that the younger generation often opts out of wearing hoisery with their outfits, which IMHO presents an unprofessional appearance. Maybe I am just old, LOL.

Personally, I wear pantsuits at the office, but will often wear skirts or casual dresses on the weekends or for shopping and errand running.

Sundresses and skirts are always a treat here in the deep south on especially humid days...they're just cooler...no two ways about it!

Yes, I would also like to know what length skirts and dresses are in for the fall. I like just below the knee too.

Oh gosh, I haven't worn pantyhose in the 9+ years I have lived in Florida.... Sticky-icky!

In this heat and humidity, I love my sundresses. I don't care for skirts and blouses. Give me one piece of outer clothing to put on. Come winter I will live in my sweat outfits.

I wear sun dresses all summer long. Way cooler to wear than shorts and top.

But I don't wear dresses or skirts much in the month where you would need hose. I hate wearing hose.

I rather turn back in to a jeans and pocket pants person. LOL

I prefer pants. I have long legs but fat knees, so pants are well suited (no pun intended!) for me. I wish skirts were like men's pants, available unfinished or in different lengths. I like them a little below the knee but they most seem to be above.

But I need to go out and buy a suit with skirt for interviews. Apparently skirts are necessary for interviews (at least in my field, I'm an attorney). And pantyhose too. Drats, I hate pantyhose.

I haven't worn a dress/skirt in probably ten years. I'm short and I feel better in slacks.

I haven't really noticed dresses being worn more, but I do see more dresses in the ads now.

I personally don't like the looks of capris. Growing up in a large family when times were hard, pants for boys or slacks for girls were often handed down, and if you were seen wearing pants/slacks that stopped above your ankles, someone was bound to ask: "Are you expecting high waters?" They seem to be too short to be long, and too long to be short.

What I wish were more available is SKORTS. Not the thigh length, but the knee length and with fullness at the waist. I have two pair that must be 25 years old, but they won't wear out, thank goodness.

I also wish we could get good sweats like we did 10-15 years ago. Hanes made great ones.

I never wear dresses, and usually only wear skirts when I work my very PT retail job. I have not a clue what anyone else wears! However, my DH who works downtown says skirts have been very popular this summer.

Jeans for everyday and pants and jackets for special times.....I think I own two dresses and can't remember when I wore them last.

For all of you who don't like pantyhose, would you rather go back to the silk stockings that were worn before pantyhose were invented? Remember the round garters to hold them up? Or remember the garter belts? Remember the leg paint we used during the second world war? Often we added eyeybrow pencil for a seam down the back. When it was hot and we sweat, the paint would run- or at least some brands did. What memories.

I am one that would love to wear dresses. When I worked at a day care center during the school year and summer, I almost always wore a dress. Most of them were either cotton or denim, I know that they weren't the most flattering, empire waist and just flowed down, but boy were they so much cooler. I would spend most of the afternoon outside watching the kids play and it was also easier to chase after the kids in a dress. I would ususally wear either keds or sandals with them. Now that I stay at home with the kids, I haven't worn a dress in forever, but I just bought a new one at Goodwill yesterday that is so cute and long, just need a reason to wear it, it is a maternity one, but with a tie back in the back that I can wear it after the baby comes. When I taught school,I wore lots of dresses and kind of miss those days, but with 3 under the age of 5 and one more on the way it is easier with shorts or capris and with the messes they wash better.

I was promoted to a management position in April. This summer, in an effort to look dressier, I wore more skirts and dresses. I got many compliments. I didn't wear hose though. I think people around here would have thought that was too formal. I won't see hose on women until this winter, but I'll be looking for it.

Now that it's getting cooler, I'm falling back into my khaki habit. I asked me old boss to go shopping with me to get nicer clothes for cool weather. I want to continue wearing dresses and nice clothes, but I have no idea what to buy.
