Can't really say there was a highlight. I had some fun though. Went whale watching,got to spend the final day at Bay Meadows Raceway before they tear it down for condos,made some new friends at the Hollister Bike Rally and ran unexpectedly into some old ones from elsewhere, visited a couple of county fairs (saw Weird Al Yankovic at one),saw a couple plays and did some things with the Red Hatters.

Anna and I went to Disney World. We met Glenda on the way to Florida. Once there Anna spent a couple of days with her half sister at WDW and Sea Word. I spent a whole day with some very dear friends while there. They are Anna's half sister's adoptive family and former co-workers. We had such a good time.

spending the fourth of July plus some more days with my daughter and son in law in Durango, on a mini vacation. But, spending as much time as I could with my other daughter prior to, and including the move was really special too, specially since she moved to Iowa City.

The two-week driving trip from Oklahoma to Maine. That was one I'll never forget...

Being able to go to Montana several times. We just love going there.

Expanding my flower garden and growing some vegetables I haven't grown in years.

My daughter and her husband and family coming from California for 10 days in the beginning of August.
Also, getting my trailer up on the cement pad, and the septic barrel down.

Our annual 2 weeks at the beach in FL. We had a ball and got great tans (which have faded now) and enjoyed the peace, quiet, salt spray and sunshine, not to mention the good food and fun friends!

Having a mini family reunion with all of my brothers and sisters, the first time we have all been together in 17 years!

It was an emotional summer for me and my family, but DH and I managed to take 2 lovely cruises this summer. Love that guy to pieces!

DH & I, our kids and their spouses plus 4 grandchildren went on a 7 night cruise in June. It was wonderful having all 10 of us together.

Seeing as DH has been hospitalized twice for depression,moving across the country,and buying and selling houses mostly on my own,my summer has not had many highlights.
However I did manage to get in a couple of family outings when my daughter and grandaughter came for a visit,and enjoyed them very much.

I had a wonderful summer. I got to go to Hawaii in June and met Dorothy from the Kt. A month later I took Bobby to MN to visit his friends that used to live down the street. While he was with them I traveled around and met Nodakgal, Caroline and Pixistix. Spent almost a week with Hayjud and enjoyed the get together she had at her house and met several KTers that I hadn't met before.

Now I am getting ready to go to MA for almost 2 weeks. My son, Shannon, is going to fly in and meet me there to spend a week with me. I am so looking forward to this trip.

Well, it wasn't the ambulance ride after I fell and cut my arm. My trip to CA in June was definitely a highlight. In another 3 weeks or so I will be off to South Dakota on a tour with my cousin. The Demo convention last week will also be something I will always remember.

Attracting one pair of Purple Martins; they successfully nested, layed five eggs, and fledged five chicks.

It wasn't the normal, crowded, high-energy colony I usually have, but it was the start of my new colony at the new house.

FEED ME!!!! For the last week the male had to feed the chicks alone. The female died. The little guys weren't liking the lack of rations.

This is the papa Purple Martin during the last week; he managed to fledge the chicks alone. He was so busy. He was flying with, and still feeding, the 3 and 4 that got brave enough to leave the gourd, while still constantly feeding #5. He would not fledge no matter how hard Papa, and the visiting SY males, tried to persaude him.

Instead of fledging on Day 28, he finally jumped out on day 34. He flew off, and then came right back to the gourd for three more days! LOL

Haven't had one!

Having our daughter, "other daughter" as I call him (her husband), and our youngest (16 yr. old) granddaughter home with us for a weekend.

I had not seen her for 2 years and it was very hard to come back home.

Today was my 72nd birthday..

Flying to Oregon for my only GD's wedding. Got to help with the prep, gave her a couple of keepsakes from MY mother, spent time with my 7-year-old GS, saw some old (in all senses of the word) friends. The weather was perfect, the wedding went without a hitch, DH and the cats were glad to see me when I got home.
