Minus my large suitcase, lost.

Been up way too long. It's now4:00 am in Ireland, and almost 11 pm here, and I'm headed to slumber land.

Been up since 6 am Ireland time, Saturday am.

Nite.

Mark, Thats a tough one. There are many insects that provide pollination for our home gardens. I think the 30% reference is because of migratory beekeepers providing pollination for hundreds of acres of single crop production. In other words the California almond production would not be possible on a large scale without bringing in bees. As far as my home garden, I always see honeybees in the blooms along with other native bees. I have 5 hives in my backyard, but I would assume on a small scale, with or without the honeybees, my garden would do well. I think as the scale of your food production increases, the honey bees play a more important role in supplementing the native pollinators.

That's great news. I am happy for you especially since your son is military. No matter how any of us feel about the war, we appreciate our military people. We spent many holidays alone. Because of the parents and step parents issue, I decided what ever day my children could be with us was "the" holiday. The Christmas my oldest granddaughter was four, they were stationed in Abeline. We lived in San Antonio and my son's father lived in Kingsvile and my DIL's mother lived in Robstown. The kids had their Christmas at home and then drove to SA. The next day we had our Christmas. The day after they drove to Robstown and had Christmans at my DIL's mother's house. They went to my ex's on Christmas morning and had Christmas. Soooooo,my granddaughter got up the day after Christmas expecting it all to happen again. She was a tad disappointed.

I'm 2/3 set....well, sort of. I'm still working on the hand made item, but I found the cookbook yesterday. Like many of you, I had to get 2 of them, one for myself and one for my partner. I'm still puzzling over the local item. I've found a nice locally produce item, but I'm not sure about shipping it. I'm going to do some more research. I've thought of other things, but Texas is a big state, and I'm not sure if the other side of Texas counts as local. Unfortunately, where I live the primary locally produced products are McMansions. I know I can spend as much as I want, but I'm NOT spending THAT much! LOL. Besides, that would definately be hard to ship! Sally

Thanks, everyone, for the welcome home. It's good to be back, but I'm itching already to go back, I was just going thru some of the pics. I'll make a separate post of those, just a few so I don't bore you. Yes, we're quite tan, not burned because we pre-tanned here to avoid that. We laid out on our deck in the sissy AR sun to gear up for the FL heat. Good thing, too, because the FL sun has a lot more bite in it, especially when you add sand and water. I even went swimming 2 days in a row, even after they caught a huge bull shark not too far away, how's that for brave? lol OK, I didn't stay in long, and the water was really clear, but still! Jodi, your name kept coming up in our conversations- I made your artichoke pasta for dinner (first time, I might add) and it was a huge hit. We added sauteed shrimp to it and had it for 2 nights, making more sauce, hearts and shrimp the next day, and you're right, it's the best, easiest dinner I've ever taken bows over. Man, we'll be making that again and again. I can't wait to see your photos and if you posted about your trip, what page is it on now? I hope you had a great time! Kath, I'll go read about your trip right now. I'm glad I'm back, I missed all you nuts!

Oh what a bummer. A lost bag and the big one at that. Get some good sleep and be ready to tell us all about it when you get up. I hope your bag shows up soon. It's always something.
