Shaved my legs, so guess that means I'm ready

Now all I have to do is check in with the airlines, Friday, and get my monies, for the GREAT ADVENTURE.

LOL, your ready Glenda. I've gotta shave mine tomorrow before going to the cabin, or I won't be able to put on shorts/swimsuit. It's going to be 98Â° both Friday and Saturday, and low 90's Sunday. I'll be in the pool.

Pool for me, at 9:30, then Gym, and that is it.

Lynne, even tho this Christmas was emotional for you going thru your Mom's things, I'm sure there were so many special memories to be relived. You are so lucky to have these family pieces to share with your siblings. Till I joined this Forum, I didn't do a lot of decorating and didn't think much about Christmas' past and heirlooms. But I've heard so many wonderful stories of special things passed on from parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, etc. That just sounds so heartwarming. I would really love to have been part of something like that in my family. Unfortunately it wasn't meant to be, but I am so lucky that many of you share your stories and pictures here. Lynn, LOL, I don't know of a picture-perfect Christmas around my house. I looked forward to seeing your photos when you have a moment to catch your breath. Thanks, Judith. It sure makes me happy seeing you here again. Kathleen, if you are facing a long brown winter, how can you be glad to see Christmas stuff put away? LOL, I'd be hanging on to all the color I could. Do you leave any winter type decor out? That's going to be a subject for my next post by the way, later tonight or tomorrow. Thank you, Yacht. It makes me feel so good to hear others say something I've done is beautiful. I was surprised to hear a lot of folks say they'd cut back on decorating this year. Not sure what that is all about. My DD and DDIL have just been far busier than usual, and Christmas stressed them some as far as trying to decorate. And my DDIL and Jason take things down the day after Christmas!! Want their house back "in order". I don't get that, LOL. "But I have a whole new year to work on things for next year right? (We'll see how that goes!)"...I hear ya, Luvs. I'll probably still be procrastinating right up till next Christmas on some of the things I want to make. sigh. Nancyjean, what a wonderful gift your boys got. That made Christmas extra special, and I am sure you make it that way for that dear gentleman. I really don't want to be a whiner! I went out to mine 3 times today just to see WHAT was getting done. To GC's credit, he's busting his hump finishing all HIS stuff. The marble guy was there all day long and all he got done was the tub surround. Not sure if he OD'd on turkey, or what, but he's moving a little slow. Okay, so kel, on the bright side, I think I mentioned this before--we must believe that WHEN all the subs do as they should, that things will happen very quickly. Honestly, if you think about it, most subs like plumbers, electricians, really only need a few days to do their thing. SO, if all the stars align and the planets are in their houses...OR WHATEVER!!!!!!!! HAHA! I told DH I think the thing that really upsets me is I don't like being lied to. I don't appreciate subs making up excuses for why they didn't do their job when they were supposed to do it. If you ain't coming, just say, "I ain't coming". Don't make up some lame excuse why! UGH. I also have slowly, but surely, figured out that if a sub should be at your house and he's not, he sure enough isn't going to answer the phone! My build really has been okay up until now. I have found the whole process pretty gratifying, actually. But now that we're down to the wire, we just don't have the luxury of take our sweet time to do things and I'm exhausted. Living in chaos is such a drain and I'm ready for things to calm down and get back to boring ol' family life! I will say a prayer for all of us and hopefully sleep tonight, knowing that tomorrow is another day...full of promises.

What is this winter you speak of? LOL, in Miami we're just starting what many folks think of as our best season. I don't mind a little nip in the air; it's getting below 70 at night now so that's officially autumn/winter level. Humidity slightly lower as well and that's also nice. What I really love is the *light* in the winter subtropic season. Hard to describe but it is almost crystalline and everything is in such sharp relief. That along with the intensity of the blue skies...paradise. I've never lived north of the Mason-Dixon line but I do recall those short, gray, sad winter days in Georgia and Virginia. Yuck. Then again I don't really mind summers here either. That's boating/swimming/diving season which is also lots of fun. Nothing like sliding over the side of the boat when the water is the same temperature as the air and you're about to swim along a gorgeous coral reef with that sunshine sparkling through the water. Guess I just wouldn't want to live anywhere else which is good cuz I'm not planning on relocating!

I don't have much hair on my legs anymore either...must be an age thing... But no one ever see's my legs since I wear compression stockings. (from the first thing after my shower till I go to bed at night...) I don't shave them until the hair makes it feel itchy.. And since I've had all those rashes I've been afraid to. So it is itch time..lol patti

Have a great time!! I'll be on vacation too-at the beach. I shave my legs every day in FL-ugh. I think I'll hit the water class too. Hope you post lots of pics when you come back!

About the only time I shave my legs is when I have a gynecology appointment.....
But I don't wear a bathing suit or shorts or capris.
Have an excellent vacation. Take lots of pictures and keep a journal to share.
