Now all I have to do is check in with the airlines, Friday, and get my monies, for the GREAT ADVENTURE.

LOL, your ready Glenda. I've gotta shave mine tomorrow before going to the cabin, or I won't be able to put on shorts/swimsuit. It's going to be 98Â° both Friday and Saturday, and low 90's Sunday. I'll be in the pool.

Pool for me, at 9:30, then Gym, and that is it.

How exciting, on all counts. Hopefully, the kitchen will come together soon and you can enjoy your home. Sorry to hear DS has not been feeling well, hope he's better now. He's such a cutie. You are such a patient, kind mother, and he reflects the love and security he feels. (My DGS has been sick with rotavirus - finally getting better, but it's been hard on his mom, she's 9 months pregnant.) You are certainly keeping busy, now with the adoption, too. ** The fridge is on the wall opposite the sink.The sink won't be moved, but I was thinking of switching the stove and fridge positions.** I would vote for that option. I think the little baking area with the Kitchenaid mixer will be more useful if you have more elbow room--having the fridge there would cramp your style a bit, I think. It would make you feel hemmed in. Also, not to mention, what you make in the Kitchenaid mixer probably goes straight from there into some sort of baking dish and then into the oven, right? It makes way more sense to have the oven right next to you, and store your baking pans above or below the mixer, than to have a fridge there. This is where you think about things in terms of what you do in X area of the kitchen... it makes sense to keep related activities together.

When we were building, we put our house on the market and sold it the first week. The buyers needed to close within 90 days or lose their quoted mortgage rate so we closed in September although our house wasn’t going to be ready until January. We rented our house back from them but here’s the deal with that. Unlike a normal renter/tenant agreement, we would have been responsible if anything broke, such as furnace, stove, etc. When January came, our new house was not even close to being ready but the owners wanted their house. It was hard to find housing for less than a year lease but we were lucky our builder had another development of apartments that we rented for five months until our house was ready. The stress was incredible, moving twice during that time and we had to put most of our furniture in storage. This time, we just bought a condo and now have to list our home. I’m not sure which is more stressful. I wish you luck on your move.

The assessment of trades above by @User is correct. You’ll need a HVAC person, an electrician, and someone to do drywall. You’ll also need a new dedicated electrical outlet for where you moved your MW. I’m not sure why there isn’t an outlet above the range, where you moved it from, but it wouldn’t be in the right place for a chimney hood if it were. That’s why you have to decide on the hood, and design everything around the exact hood’s specs. The location and shape of the duct and the electrical location is NOT universal. It’s normal to have to move or adjust everything, or do new. You need the specs and the hood on hand when talking to contractors. Don’t forget an exterior damper to keep cold air from infiltrating your home! You will get a better job, done faster, if you hire a General Contractor, rather than trying to hire the trades individually. They have their subs that they give lots of work to, and who will return phone calls and show up. And pull the permits that this will require. A homeowner doesn’t get the same price or response from the trades, and it takes weeks longer. I’d suggest posting on your local NextDoor or Facebook neighborhood or city group to look for a licensed and insured (check this!) contractor who can do a small job. But, it isn’t as small as you think!

About the only time I shave my legs is when I have a gynecology appointment.....
But I don't wear a bathing suit or shorts or capris.
Have an excellent vacation. Take lots of pictures and keep a journal to share.
