Mystery...I'm willing to import talent...and I'm not kidding :) LOL

My contractor is a bit bogged up with other projects (I expected that) so I guess we'll go a bit slower, but frankly..tile is number one since that's holding up the entire job. I suppose I should finish the lighting restoration and get some plaster on the walls...e gads I have some work to do! And we're adopting at the same time LOL I think I need to drink more!!!

Can someone catch me up (and maybe some other readers, who like me, are a bit hesitant to ask for fear of appearing nosey?) Igloo are you in Alaska or Minnesota now? I recall bits and pieces of posts...but missed a step along the way!!

I am so excited for you. I am actually sitting up straight feeling good. Up until reading your post I was slumped over feeling blue about everything. To start with it is -11 this morning and going to -13 tonight. I can't imagine what it is in Duluth. Alaska has to be warmer.
Looking forward to pictures and I would hope that DS might show up in one or two.
Adoption!! What are you adopting? I just adopted a great little cat that I found frostbitten trying to get to the other cats' food. Are you talking two legs or four?

LOL I guess I posted the adoption thing elsewhere...I thought it was here. Yes we're adopting a contr...I mean a future contract...umm ok well a kiddo :) We're expecting to be expecting soon LOL Which means I have to get a house or two finished pronto!

SLC We're in Alaska where our first remodel from hell began and might finish prior to 2010 :oP At which time I can then start number two which we purchased because number one went so badly and we needed somewhere to live (it will be a corporate rental). So did that catch anyone up?

My poor contractor called us in a panic because the cabinets were in and they wanted to deliver :) I still have to plaster so that would have been a bad thing...since I don't want to plaster round boxes and boxes of cabinets!

You know...I highly recommend taking three months off in the middle of your remodel (don't take a vacation in a hospital though). We came back with clear heads, a slightly revised design, and determination to finish the danged thing right. I'm firing the plumbers and using the rediculously expensive company instead (because at $150 an hour for the current guys...it still costs me more because they take twice as long to accomplish NOTHING!). So I know the "wierd" plumbing (vessel sinks, high tank toilet) will actually get installed finally. They were still whining about the waterfall faucet when last we talked, which is why I decided to fire them before we got to the stuff that shows.

I'm now willing to sell my soul for a tile guy...a good one...maybe I could adopt one of those...is Little Billy available? Or maybe Little Mongo heh heh

I was so worried about the countertops I paid a suprise visit to the manufacturer to make sure they still had them LOL (Too many bad stories here). It's been two years TWO YEARS since I purchased them so I did think I should worry. They're VERY dusty!

I'm not going to try to paint anything myself..screw it, I'm getting real painters. I have too much to do to save that little cost. (Although I just purchased most of our paint at a going out of business sale at 50% off WOO HOO which should cover most of the painting cost). And, we hired the best guy in town for the floors so they will be nice, not funky (the finish was peeling off when we left).

This three months off could be more expensive, but at least it will get done. Now if I'd just quit dreaming of copper countertops...who posted that stupid question? I've been thinking of them and thinking....arghhhh

niineta...a bab kitty :) You sweetie! Thank you for saving it. I have two big monster kitties and we just adore them and their four cats worth of fur. I'm glad you saved that darling!

Duluth hasn't gone on the market yet, so we'll see about that place. If she lists half a mill over the price we talked about (it's most recent appraised value) well we just won't pay that. We'll see what happens. I can hold off on another couple of kitchens for a bit!

Wow, Igloo!! You've been busy! and, Welcome Home. DS looks adorable, and much bigger than previous pictures! Was the hospital stay helpful? Adopting - Heartfelt Congratulations!! A boy or a girl... or does it matter? A close friend just adopted a beautiful boy from overseas - she can't stop smiling.

Your DS is beautiful. The many of us who are following his saga thank you for the picture.

Two of our nephews were adopted when DivaD1 was little. She wrote the story of their arrival for her class. And it ended, "...and everybody's hearts grew bigger and bigger with love!"

Wow, you certainly have been busy lady! Buying up homes, planning not only all your kitchens, but mysterymachines window treatments as well, and adopting another little one as well...wow! Do you ever sleep??? LOL! Seriously, I'm very happy and excited for you!

Sorry to hear DS has not been feeling well, hope he's better now. He's such a cutie. You are such a patient, kind mother, and he reflects the love and security he feels. (My DGS has been sick with rotavirus - finally getting better, but it's been hard on his mom, she's 9 months pregnant.)

You are certainly keeping busy, now with the adoption, too. I was adopted 61 years ago, and I've had a wonderful life. DS will make a wonderful big brother.
