I was thinking there was another show that had a fanboat but it must be Everglades. I do seem to recall a flashing light on top of the fan so it would fit the description. Never watched it much. Were there a couple teen kids in that show? I seem to remember a father and a couple boys on that fanboat often. Maybe the boys got around in a canoe or something at other times. Don't remember for sure. Never watched it too often though.

Oh how sweet of you!!!! It was a great time. 30 people, all visiting and eating and remembering. My brother welcomed everyone and mentioned how strong she was, and non-complaining through her ordeal. He got emotional near the end. He's been so stoic with all this, but he's not one to show his feelings (like Mom). So this got to him. After dinner, I stood up and welcomed them as well, and said how much she would have loved this, and how she loved the family holidays. I mentioned things she said and did and got everybody laughing, and of course at the end, I cried a bit as well. It was a great time, and her friends told me they were honoured to be invited to it. We had family and just a couple of her close friends. Their was a slideshow and the Eagles playing, just as she wanted.

My mother was a big Piaf fan and she had several records played until worn out that I heard when growing up. My favorite song was (and is) Milord. Memory is funny, it is selective, and I'm not sure that how it works is yet well understood. I don't remember "everything" and I don't think I ever did, A long term marriage and many long term friendships provide instances for me to be in discussions about past experiences and events and often things come up that I've forgotten about. What I do or don't remember doesn't seem to fit any particular pattern and I'd say the same is true for those others too.

When I grow up, I want to look like Marilyn. Very pretty lady. My condolences to Marilyn. Hugs. Back on track, and thanks to Lars for the memory trigger regarding olfactory; when I smell guava or day old white bread or leftover spaghetti, it brings right back to my beloved nursery school. We must of had lots of those things to eat there. It's like being snapped up into a time machine.
