When I read the subject of your thread, I thought, "Don't tell me that any muffins made from one of Glenda's recipes would still have a few left floating around ... after 6 weeks!".

But when I read your message about your large amount of raisin bran on hand, the frugal part of me kicked in ... which has been referred to here, but is well known over on the "Money Saving Tips" forum, where I've instigated a discussion on reusing (which I mis-titled as "recycling") toilet paper ... and on a way to get further use from regular underwear briefs when the elastic has got so old and tired that it lets them slip down around my knees ... which I thought to be a problem, until I remembered that if I were female and wearing a dress while out and about in the city and ran into such a difficulty ... now that, I'd call a "problem" ... so it seemed me that my issue was merely a "dilemma".

So my thought was that I've been known to buy regular bran flakes, usually at a somewhat lower price per 100 grams, due to having less value added, and add my own few raisins, bought in bulk, for lower net final cost per 100 grams.

Or, maybe some dates that I'd cut into small pieces - I enjoy them (or, less so, raisins) in several varieties of cooked porridge, as well.

I use Hayjud's recipe, and it calls for a 15 oz box. But, I usually use a LARGE box, and mine here says 20 oz.

It also says 567 grams. :)

This leads me to the conclusion, if you use about a third of your box, it should be about right. :)

I have looked for the cookie recipe...can not find it....can someone direct me to it...thank you...mary

I could not find the 15 ounce box when I made the recipe the first time. So I ended up just using up most of the 20 ounce box. I made it a second time and used up some left over in the cupboard as well as a 15 ounce box. So I am writing this message to let you know that you can use a few cups more than the recipe calls for, and you cannot tell any difference.

Thanks everybody. I'm going to use about 6 cups of bran flakes and see how that turns out. I was thinking I could make one batch and if I think it needs more I can always add extra.
