Here's a toy I made for my grandson

I knit this for my 1-year old grandson. The pattern calls for button eyes and a red tongue which would have been much cuter, but I didn't think it was a good idea to add loose things for him to put in his mouth.

Sherry, Excellent pictures. I thought I went through a lot of cameras in my active years, but not as many as you have lately. I'm still getting by on that one model up from the Canon you recommended way back when. But then I have had nothing flying here the last two years to take pictures of anyway. Gave all the other digitals to my son, including that Canon S3 IS and a drawer full of accessories I never did use. The SLR's with lenses in tow are too heavy to lug around anymore. Please call the bugs and plants whatever you want - common names, acronyms/initialisms, etc. I've given up on the folks here using taxonomy, correct taxonomic grammar or entomolgical terms even though some here do have enough experiance to be doing so and teaching others. I'll still use them just like I have for 47 years (HC)... so I guess we can all be confused together. LOL Larry

sameboat..wow I'm so greatful for your kind words..Thank you. luvs.. he's loved crafts, ever since he was a little guy, and with creativity on both sides of the family, also has a natural talent for drawing. minnie...I know what you mean about the weaving, and was impressed that he picked up the technique very quickly. barb...I think 'he' made great memories for me too!! They grow up so fast, and then - on to other things. cheri..thanks I will let him know...isn't it great fun to work w/your grandkids..seems you always can make the time for them to do it. Funny,for the longest time, he's been wanting to make those reindeers logs...Now, I've got to show him what you made w/the angels...He'll be real impressed!! craftylady...I will pass on the 'WOW' to him..and I'm sure he will be somewhat embarrassed that I put them on here..LOL I taught Arts & Crafts for 22 yrs..to kids from 3 - 12 yrs. Those were the happiest times working with young children, and enjoying their creativity as well..

My 9-month-old grandson enjoys this Laugh & Learn Musical Table. It has different settings to make the various activities musical or educational in other areas--including learning a little Spanish. My grandson pulls himself up to stand next to it, and "cruises" around, trying the different activities. I recently ordered this Hide & Squeak Egg Game for him, but as it hasn't arrived yet I can't comment on it. The reviews are good, though.

Thanks for looking, and for all of the nice comments! Luke's team is quite incredible. The coaches are amazing. Every child plays every game, there is no showboating allowed. Many youth sports coaches could learn a thing or two from them. The result? They're undefeated! Trust me, they aren't the most talented kids in the league, either. Eric is doing fine with his casts. That is cute. Yes it is easy to crochet one as well. I used to put some jingle bells in a small medicine container that had a child proof cap and put that inside near the end of the tail.

Thank you, everyone! I definitely am not talented; as a matter of fact, I think I should be a much more skilled knitter than I am after knitting so many years. I go on Ravelry and look at some of the work there and am humbled beyond belief!

Susan, right, it is like a giant sock with no heel, except it tapers to a point for the tail.

Okay, that is just too cute AND a perfect way to use up all the left over yarn! I like Heather's idea for a rattler, too.

I will have to try crocheting one. Knitting needles and I do not get along so well.

aaahhh that is so cute!! I had a little frog from material when I was little, it had beans in it i think...was my favorite toy, i think my aunt made it.
