For dinner hubby wanted a Paul Newman frozen pizza, I had a cube steak with french fries. A easy dinner for a change.

Patti, to answer your question about the surgery. Today most Dr's have you stay in the hospital for 3 days & then to rehab hospital for another 3 days. A long time ago I told him I would not go to the rehab hospital. The last time I went to him he told me if the operation went well & I could do 2 therapy sessions on Tue I could go home late Tue. I hope this works but will not know till then.

Tomorrow is the 2nd cataract surgery.

Just leftovers for me, meatloaf, potatoes and carrots.

I decided NOT to order their senior 3 pc ff and slaw, went for their special $4.99 with two fish and 6 shrimp ff and slaw

Fish was NOTHING like their regular fish. AWFUL and to top if all off I waited for 30 minutes.

Busy busy and people were complaining about their wait.

Papa Murphy's pizza u-bake, I just now picked up a pepperoni and a chicken/garlic. I have DH, a nephew, and a friend replacing the cedar roof on the garden shed today, made a blackberry dessert and thought I'd put on a pot roast if anyone got hungry then couldn't find one. I had prime rib party roasts in the freezer, not one pot roast.

Assumed they'd be close to finished, it's not a large or complicated shed, but what does go as planned and now they are replacing plywood underlayment too :) Appears we've had a family of chipmunks living between the roof and shed ceiling, the roof was pretty mossy, old, and they chewed through and made themselves at home. I'd seen them on that roof a few times since moving in and just assumed they'd been using it as a bridge to a large magnolia.

General Tso Chicken, jasmine rice, stir fried veg..

Well that's the plan..still about 2.5 hours away from dinner..

Right now sitting on the front lawn..listening to the leaves rustle from the breeze, #1 and #3 playing basketball and hubby scraping pitch off the little Jetta's roof.

It's beautiful out....I may not want to go in the kitchen...

We're having something easy - hot dogs with baked beans & fruit salad. I've gotten a lot done at home this weekend. Managed a little pool time yesterday evening. We were out of a lot of things, so I went grocery shopping (Costco, Whole Foods & Trader Joe's) today. I was planning to make a quick trip & get back so I could go to the pool again. Of course, we had a huge storm while I was in Costco, so no pool today. Oh well, glad I was able to get so much done at home over the weekend. And even happier that we haven't eaten out the entire weekend!

Spaghetti and biscuits. We've been to an RV rally all weekend, so I wanted something simple.

A nice day today. Hubby cleaned the headlights with a compound to make them nice and clear again. Plastic lens go yellow. :(
While he was at it, he vacuumed the interior, cleaned the windows and polished the vinyl. The car was looking pretty "unloved" now it's all pretty again.

I cleaned windows in the apartment. Amazing how wind and rain can make windows so dirty. I did some laundry and we did some shopping.

Dinner was sausages in red sauce, boiled new potatoes and green beans and onions steamed with a splash of balsamic vinegar at the end. We love green beans done this way.

Mary, good luck tomorrow. Sorry about the rain. Sure hate driving in it and I don't like anyone else having to either. Both your dinners sound good tonight.

Sue, leftover meatloaf is the best! Isn't it nice not to have to think about dinner some nights?

Glenda, sorry you had an awful lunch. Hope you let the manager know you weren't happy. Fat lot of good it would do, except venting is good for the soul sometimes!!

Morz, those dang chipmunks. We don't have them here but we did in the mountains and they are nasty little things. At first I thought they were so cute, until they found a way in our camper. Not so funny and cute, then. You had great intentions for the roast, but I bet those guys will be plenty happy with the pizza.

Terri, if anyone deserves a day out of the kitchen, it's you. I have your recipe for General Tso chicken but I haven't made it yet. I know it'll be good when I get to it. Enjoy your pretty afternoon as long as possible!

Kittiemom, that's a lot of shopping. I'd need an easy dinner, too. Especially one that sounds so good. I do love eating out, but not especially on weekends anymore when every restaurant is so crowded. Of course, this being a retirement area, most people go eat at 4:30 or 5!! lol!

Jasdip, you are a busy girl! You two sure got a lot done this weekend. My windows are just awful. I clean them but they sure don't stay that way. I'll have to try green beans your way. Sounds good!

Patti, my recipe is actually from Monique..she used to post at the Cooking Forum..It's the best one I've found..and tastes better than any restaurant..

We devour it...well Kellan...no.......I leave a 16 yr old size serving of the crispy chicken unsauced for him..

Well as per usual, the marine layer headed over..so it's a bit cool out now..
So the rice is in the oven, the chicken is cubed..and the sauce is ready for the pan..

Still no decision on the cookie's...I've been wanting molasses...yummy..but then I'd eat way more than I should...soooo...it'll most likely be one I can leave alone..lol...

Roast beef, gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans, homemade bicuits, with chocolate cake for dessert. Still stuffed.

Terri, I never thought my daughter ate much until she went away to college and I actually had leftovers! Good luck with the cookies. I've never found one I could leave alone.

Bobby and Amber came over for dinner today. We had barbeque ribs, steamed rice and salad.

We were still out at the camp.... Our Sunday morning breakfast guests weren't able to make it, so we just ate a bowl of fruit salad and split a carrot cake muffin for breakfast then made the planned breakfast for dinner. It was a baked dish made of refrigerator biscuits, browned sausage (used Jimmy Dean Sage Premium sausage, which was really good in it), and shredded cheese, all layered twice in a cast iron dutch oven, then with eggs (beat with a little milk) poured over the whole thing). This was baked in the camp fire coals for about 36 minutes and was very tasty!!
