No inspiration from me!

Still don't have much of an appetite, so Golden Corral, and ate only their country fried fish and 2 pb cookies!

I am having fresh homegrown green beans, Blue Lake cooked with biscuit dumplings on top, a piece of the leftover ham steak, sweet yellow cherry tomatoes and iced tea. I have been snapping green beans all afternoon. Will can tomorrow, have more to snap and more to pick. I hope you feel better soon Patti.

Since DH had such a crummy birthday celebration, we're going out tonight to re-celebrate his birthday at a much nicer restaurant.

We were invited to Luckygardner's and her DH yesterday for a barbecue. I took Ina's roasted veggie and orzo salad and Lucky and I divided it up and I brought some home.

We had that for dinner along with some boiled new potatoes, some carrots and sausage. Watermelon for dessert. We've certainly had good luck with sweet watermelon this summer.

Easy dinner tonight. Grilled cheese for hubby & I had a cube steak sandwich.

On top of everything else my hubby now has a staph infection in his elbow. He is on antibiotics & we hope it does not have to be cut opened. We don't need this right now.

Patti, hope you feel better tomorrow, just try to take it easy.
I don't know how many inches of rain we have had but they did say it was the wettest July on record.

Glenda, I highly recommend the egg drop soup. It was so good and easy for me to eat.

Sue, Blue Lakes are my favorite GB. We used to grow those, too!!

Jasdip, aw you had fun without me :-) Your salad sounds very healthy and Ina sure knows her way around a kitchen.

Had my all time favorite summer meal...for the third day in a row. Fresh picked green beans cooked with fresh dug potatoes and ham. Good crusty bread to sop up all that bean juice. And on the side a dish of tomatoes, cucumbers and onions with a vinegar dressing like my Mom made. Cooked it all up Saturday for dinner, had it for lunch Sunday, and finished it off tonight. Darn, it is all gone.

Patty hope you will be feeling better tomorrow....no wonder that you are tired.

I am frying up some of the fabulous smoked sausage I got in Louisiana with some onions and boiling some fresh red potatoes to go with it.

so sorry patti...our radiation nutria-nurse suggested veggies as a main stay during radiation...just heard tonight that celery is getting cudos in the "c" fight..

but we had our fave summer meal tonight...ceasar salad with a chunk of chicken on top...and our local breakfast place makes a good omelet..baby spinach leaves in the egg, and "stuffed " with crumbled feta cheese...light but intense taste,,,and then what my darling uncle was "allowed"? (after chemo was over) a shot of his fave sipping jack daniels!

had a dr's appt with the gastro colon guy...i'd been upset that something was wrong (they'd made the appt in error) so naturally your mind goes nuts! all is ok just have to go back in a year...

I had a stressful day, if anything could go wrong, it did. Was almost in tears when I left the office. It got worse from there. Had a splitting headache when I got home ... I don't get headaches ... and told hubby he was on his own for supper. He had leftover swiss steak and noodles.
Then I come here and feel so guilty over my "pity party" because I haven't even come close to the obstacles some of you are, or have, faced, just to get through a day. You are each an inspiration to me and I am so grateful for the "perspective" you give me on "how important is this in the grand scheme of things?" Not very!
So I will go to sleep feeling very thankful and grateful for what I have been blessed with tonight.

My wife was out of town for the previous week, and was due home yesterday evening. I went shopping after work, and found Monkfish on sale for $4.99 a pound. So I made oven roasted monkfish remoulade with lightly roasted diced fresh tomatoes and a rice pilaf.

It was the first time that I made Monkfish without overcooking it and turning it to rubber.

Had Pimento Cheese sandwich with a glass of milk. Made with Glenda's wonderful recipe for pimento cheese. Yummmmy!

walnutcreek, so glad you are enjoying the pimento cheese. I'd love a pc sandwich!

We had Lasagna...it won rave reviews...don't know why...lol...
Oh and romaine chopped with a handful of Parm..and Ceasar dressing..simple ceasar..
