What Has Everyone Been Doing Today, Thursday?

I ran the dishwasher, did a couple loads of laundry, made some tomato salad, and now have a chocolate zucchini cake in the oven. Amber came over and we went to the club house and she loaded up the dehumidifier to take to their home. Their central air has quit working and his work has been really bad so fixing it is on hold for now. They recently got the air conditioner we had out there, but it is rather small to cool their living room. I sent home half of my tomato salad for her. I also gave her a new spray bottle with some of the homemade window cleaner I made this morning. I have some for each of the girls to try. I haven't tried it yet, hope it is good.

What have the rest of you been doing today? I imagine you all have been keeping busy.

Cleaning...

Things I don't do everyday...

I'm having the Bible study here tomorrow and lunch.

Taking a back hurting break right now...have to do that every now and then. After a few mins I can get going again.

I really need to wash some throw rugs...but won't have a dryer until about 6:00. Our broke again...nothing big but Denny said he just not going to work on it anymore.

The dogs drag in more dirt than all of my kids and grandkids together could have drug in ,in a life time. Arrrrgggh...so ready for them to all find a new home.

Not a whole lot. I baked a couple of batches of muffins, have them cooling right now, will freeze most of them. Paid my 20th of the month bills, took to post office. Have some lean stew meat thawing to pressure cook, make gravy, for my evening meal. Cleaned the bathroom. Did my Bible reading. One more day and I will have read the entire Bible all the way through....a goal of mine. Then I'll start over, using Flylady way of 15 minutes at a time.

I took a DVD called "Days of The One Room Schoolhouse" to a local nursing home to share with the residents as one of their activities for this week. Had lunch first with a friend who resides there and had a long visit. Everyone seemed to enjoy the documentary even tho several fell asleep. ;) On the way there I happened to look down and see the "Check Engine" light was on. Oh crap. I was hoping I'd at least make it to the home and then when I came back out the car would start. It did start but the light was still on so I drove it on into the dealership where I know the hourly rate of service is high but. Anyhow, a young guy got in the car with a diagnostic tool and hooked that up to my car's computer under the steering wheel (who knew?) and then asked if I had recently gotten gas. I had. He said the car's computer was showing the code for "Loose gas tank cap". He checked it, tightened it, and the light went off. Plus there was no charge - what a relief. Esp. about the no charge, that doesn't happen very much now days. Came home, made a cup of coffee and then went out and finished mowing parts of the yard I didn't get to yesterday. Now I can relax.

I am new to this site and scrapbooking. I have really enjoyed reading all of your comments and ideas. I look forward to hearing more. My friends are always calling me for ideas, because they say I am the "crafty" one and I tend to get my pages completed quicker. I think its just because my kids are older and stay out of the way while I work (LOL) Thanks ladies for your comments and ideas. We "newbies" look forward to more info!

Haha, Velleen, I thought about just moving in with Sue until she mentioned yard work!!! Glad to see you back. I learned something new today--how to change fluorescent bulbs--the long kind that go in ceiling lights. Ours went out a few days ago so I finally remembered to buy some new ones. DH has always done that and tried today, but his PAD seems to be getting worse and he was struggling. He did get the cover off, though. It was really easy and now I know!! Getting the cover back on was the hard part. Since I'd brought the ladder in the house I decided to paint the kitchen. I got most of it done before I wore out. Just have behind the frig and around the pass-through, but that's another day. I don't mind painting once I get started, it's the prep and clean up I hate!!

Very unproductive day here, I fear. It's been raining for days and days. Thought about running up to the Amish market, but didn't feel like driving an hour in the rain. Nixed that idea. Couldn't work in the garden. DH called and said he has to work overtime tomorrow, so he won't be able to meet me at the country house tonight--so didn't have to make my usual fancy Friday night dinner (after not seeing him for days, I like to give him a really good meal). Mostly just hung around here, playing on the computer. Finished a book I was reading. Did wash the 'treasures' I'm taking to the roadshow tomorrow, and packed them in a couple of baskets so they'll be easy to hold while we stand waiting in line. Just grabbed a quick dinner. According to weather.com, it's supposed to stop raining SOMEtime this evening, but don't know if there's really anyplace I want to head out to. Maybe I'll toss a pan of brownies in the oven for DH. And maybe some muffins for DD and I to munch in the car on the way to Atlantic City. Hope it's nice tomorrow. As great as the rain is for the garden, I'm getting just a bit tired of seeing it. Okay, I'll stop complaining now....

I just spent a couple of days on Cape Cod with my girl friends. We went out for breakfast, then helped Nancy clean the cottage and I drove home. Currently I am catching up on my email and computer stuff. Think I will make home made pizza for dinner.

Finshed up cleaning except for the main bath. Getting so excited about DGD's visit. Took off the sheets, cleaned them and put them back on. Vacuumed and dusted the bedrooms and hall. Put the roomba out fin the living room because I'm taking a break like Pattico. Patti, what are you serving for lunch tomorrow?

I'd love a few days on the Cape. Hope it was as fun and relaxing as I'm imagining it.

Hang out with hubby and his friend...had a nice visit....came home got cleaned up for nothign cuz I was not driving in the storms.....so got everyhing ready to take to the red cross tomorrow and to swing by the hospital to check aabout volunteering there also...Stacy
