I was surprised by the verdict but sort of relieved in a way. Had the state charged her with a lesser crime like involuntary manslaughter then I truly feel she would have been found guilty but they went all out for the death penalty and that's where they messed up. Wishing death upon someone is wrong and malicious and in the end is vengeful not justice. Casey is clearly a troubled young woman that must have had a disturbing child upbringing for her to behave the way she did after her daughter's death. I read all the negative comments out there on the web regarding the case and it just disturbs me by the amount of hate so many have against someone they don't even know personally.

I understand your concerns about getting a fair jury because of the media attentions this has received. Media spin is hyper-pap for the masses and made to keep viewers tuning in to that particular station. Hopefully there are enough intelligent people who can tune out the rumor mongering sensationalism and be part of a fair and impartial jury of peers. The thing about selecting a jury is those folks answers to the questions. Truthfully, knowing about something is very different from having a predisposed judgment without the body of evidence giving proof beyond a shadow of doubt. I do know Casey is accused of killing her daughter. I know there is much debate over the evidence and its handling. I know many people already believe she is guilty. I could not presume to make judgment of innocence or guilt without seeing the evidence giving absolute proof. Even after a trial and I am not a juror I could not make the assumption she is guilty or innocent because I would not have seen all the evidence, heard the testimony, and seen the actions and reactions of the accused. If I were a juror I would make absolute sure I understood everything and would ask for clarifications if I didn't understand. I would hate to send someone to death row over a tidbit of incorrect or misunderstood information. In this type of trial the jurors are very vulnerable people. They have the burden of seeing justice done in a very publicized case of child murder. All the while being denied the comforts of family and friends that would normally be the support and strength to help them thru a rough situation. LIL

Thank you to those who seem to have a good handle and understanding of how the legal system works, and sharing it with us. I think a lot of the posts, from members like me, is mostly personal opinion and wishful thinking of what we would like to see happen to Casey and how we wish things had turned out. In my opinion, there is room on this site for our thoughts, and the expertize of the 'experts' without chastising and belittling. Personally, I wish Casey would take a long walk on a short pier.

There is a petition on change.org about this. Just signed it. Look what Jennifer Kesse's (missing FL woman) Dad had to say- Many of you were outraged that George and Cindy Anthony will be guests on the season opener of "Dr. Phil." One comment, however, stood out: It came from Drew Kesse, the father of missing Jennifer Kesse. Jennifer was 24 when she disappeared in 2006. Orlando police believe she was abducted from her condominium near the Mall at Millenia. Drew Kesse complained that the Anthonys are "a disgrace and an insult to every missing person and their families." Kesse wrote: "Lets make this very clear, Caylee was murdered. She was never missing and should not ever be considered missing at any time during the entire ordeal. Caylee has never been the center of anything since she was killed. Everyone else in her family has, but the true victim -not." Casey Anthony, the daughter of George and Cindy Anthony, was acquitted last month of first-degree murder in the death of 2-year-old Caylee. Kesse was incensed that George and Cindy Anthony asked the "Dr. Phil" show for a contribution to their new foundation named for Caylee. And Kesse blasted Dr. Phil McGraw, who interviews George and Cindy in an episode to air Sept. 12 on WOFL-Channel 35. "Let's get one thing straight right now, Dr. Phil, you are a pimp for this garbage," Kesse wrote. "The Anthonys and this new foundation are the biggest insults to every missing person in America today. Dr. Phil, after the show airs and you make a donation to their new scam, have on real families of the missing." Kesse's message to the Anthonys: "Go away, far away, please."
