Transnational Moving, Co- Dallas Texas areas- has anyone used the

Has anyone used 'Transnational Moving Co', out of Dallas Texas area? They have given me a quote, but I would like to check them out first. If you know how to check out a company (BBB is not any help), I would appreciate knowing how to do it. Thank you

I found out some info - Transnational Moving Services Dot# is 2095766. I both talked to Texas Dot and found a website that has the info. On 8/01/2011 they had their license revoked for refusal to audit and not contacting Dot/whomever requested info. At this time they do not even have the authority to move anyone! Yet they initiated the call to me, I did not call them! It pays to search for info....

I will tell you the very best movers we used were when we moved from Dallas to Houston and that was Nice Moves. With out a doubt the very best and they were the best price quote too. I have had several big moves from state to state and they topped them all.

this company originally did work moving extremely valuable antiques and art work for museums and such and had just started to do home moving. A friend that had used them for his showroom gave me their info. What a great find that was.

I have since recommended them to 2 friends that also used them and had the same pleasant move.

ps not one single thing was broken!

I don't have time to read all the other messages but just a quick word of advice - Colorado Natives are not real fond of transplants, as in people who immigrate here. Their top two disliked transplants are Texans and Californians. Change your license plates ASAP as a matter of top priority. And I have learned to stay very quiet about being from out of state. When we first moved here (7 years ago) there were often write ups in the paper about eggings of cars that were from Texas or California and people being harrassed, kids at school, etc. It is fairly openly discussed in social situations, as well. I had family here who helped me transition fast, they were concerned for our family. People like being here and it's getting body to body over-crowded and the growth and expense is staggering. It's on the minds of many - like at the top of their minds - and sometimes it's just better not to say you are a transplant, especially don't be passing the word around that you are from Southern California. The transplant to native ratio is evening up fast so this may not be an issue for too much longer. Good luck! And I am not saying this to put anyone down or cause fear or anything like that. Just friendly advice from someone who went through it. Like I said - it's getting better but we have had a ton of construction again lately, you will see that in the Springs - and people are antsy again.

skeered me too! Amy, the swap last year really was fun, but Bobbie is prez of the Ovilla Garden Club this year, so she's too "scheduled" to have one at her home this year. BUT We're having a swap in Ft Worth April 7 (see the thread on this forum). This is the Texas Forum's annual Spring Swap, & it's lots of fun. There're always lots of people & tons of plants & garden things, & the Botanic Gardens are just across the street if you still have the strength to visit them after our "Spring Break" garden frenzy! & the Ovilla Garden Club has one in Ovilla June 2,(there's a thread about it, too) at the City Park. We can trade or sell, as long as we buy the $4 box lunch that they sell to fund their projects. & I know she'd love for you to come take a tour thru her gardens. She gave me permission to post her phone # (it's on the Ovilla thread.) email me at sylviaboardwalk@aol.com if you want more info. I do have some irises, some named, some mysteries, that I'd be happy to bring you. Just let me know.

I just found out some info- Transnational Moving Services Dot # is 2095766. "The weather is hot, but not super humid. So long as you have a big tree, a swimming pool and working A/C, you'll be fine." Oh, my gosh, I so disagree with this comment. I think Texas is unbearably hot and humid in the summers. I live in Iowa, where we typically experience very hot and humid summers, and Texas, IMHO, is 10 times worst. I made the mistake one summer of visiting my brother--who used to live in Grapevine and is now in Bedford with plans to move to Fort Worth shortly--in July. It was terrible! I vowed never to go back to TX in July and I never have. We went from A/C'ed house to A/C'ed car to A/C'ed store. We were only ever briefly out of the A/C. Of course...all this said...I LOVE going to Texas during an Iowa winter. Nothing like being able to go outside in nothing but shorts and a T-shirt in the middle of December when everyone else back home is shivering in their heavy coats!

They had just started doing bigger moves when we used them. I am not sure at this point how far they travel.
The owner is Marty is a great guy if you want to ask for him.
Tell him his friends in Houston sent you LOL

he may be able to suggest someone in the biz if he does not go that far.

Other than them the best long distance movers we used were

the absolute worst that we would never use again was Atlas.
