Lollapalooza report

No pics (yet). They are on hubs camera and he hasn't put them in his pics yet since he is helping the kids move into their apartments. Hard to believe summer is almost over and they are returning to school already!

We had a great time, and would go again. Definitely not the oldest there, but it was a predominantly young crowd. Some families with little kids, but mostly young adults.

Friday was the least crowded day, wish I would have known to appreciate the breathing room, lol. Sat and Sun were packed!! Saw Gaga friday night-she was only OK. I really wanted to say it was the best show ever, but can't. I read a review that said she used the first 30 minutes as a therapy session, and that was so true. She was at Lolla in 07 and wasn't very good, so she had to bring that up over and over. Also talked a lot about gay equality which I don't need to hear about during a show. Sat headliner was Phoenix-good enough but don't know their music so we left early. Sun headliner was Arcade Fire-awesome show but wish they had played more older stuff instead of new music. I had just bought the new CD so didn't really know the songs.

I would have to say the best show I saw was a Scottish (I think) band called Frightened Rabbits. They were on a smaller side stage and drew a huge crowd and the show was so good. My kids were way up front and said during one song the lead singer was crying, the song was emotional. Their music is quite emotional, but rocking too. Loved them.

Here's the other shows I saw:

New Pornongraphers-great!

Jukebox the Ghost-great

Drive-by-truckers=good

Hot chip-ok

The Kissaway trail-great

Stars-great

Rogue Wave-so so

Temper Trap-good

The National-great but depressing music

Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic zeros-we liked but they got a bad review (guess I don't know what to like, lol).

Weather was hot, hotter on Sat, and hottest on Sunday. Let's just say I have heat rash in some uncomfortable spots, but it was well worth it!
