It's good to see you posting your Good Morning again!

Today is DH's birthday, and I'll be baking a cake for him a little later on. Yesterday DS smoked a turkey, so we'll be having that for dinner ... no cooking for me today! yay! I'm actually working from home today, we get to do that two days a week and I love it. I can get little chores done around the house while my reports are running.

I'm looking forward to seeing a picture of your door. Is it ornate? Are you going to have it painted a color, or keep it wood toned? I really need a new one too, but am putting it off. We never use the front door, so it just isn't a priority for us. Maybe if we ever decide to move, I'll get one.

Temps are supposed to be 97 here today, we just turned the AC back on yesterday after the most lovely week of temps in the high 70s or low 80s (nights were even in the 50s! in JULY!!!).

This week I need to "up" my distance on the treadmill, our local Walk for the Cure to support Susan G. Komen foundation is Sunday morning and I'll be going 5k which I think is in the vicinity of 3 miles. I'm not quite there yet. DS is walking with me, and a dear friend and her husband.

This morning I did a little bit outside, but then I came in and read for a while. I'm going out in a while to start some more plant cuttings... I started some Dwarf Korean Lilacs and hibiscus and citrus a while ago, and since they did well, I started some more yesterday- boxwood and barberry. Today I want to start some blueberry cuttings. I'm going to try to grow some of the lilac cuttings into standards. I just have fun playing with this stuff.

Also, I have to go to the grocery store, and do some real work in the garden. I have some cleaning cloths to make- I make them out of flannel and hem them, weird, I know. I also have to do the dusting and clean all three bathrooms because the cleaning lady took the week off. DH is vacuuming right now, and he is going to wash the floors. If I have time I will bath and trim the dogs after their walk.

Kathleen, I've missed your "Good Morning" posts. You gals are already busy this morning. It takes me a while to warm up to the idea of housework, but today I'm putting some ribs in the crockpot and then cleaning bathrooms and the Florida room. Ick! I need Susan's cleaning lady!!

If time allows, I need to start emptying the bottom cabinets since our new countertops, sink and faucet are being installed Friday. It's a good opportunity to get rid of some stuff in the back that I haven't used since we moved in almost 2 years ago.

I have had breakfast, fed Izzi and the cats, running the dishwasher, and made another batch of liquid laundry soap. I want to start in on my laundry pretty soon. I also have some green beans to wash and get ready for supper. It is a really nice day out, 66 right now and to get up to around 86 later. Also talked with Cheryl and Amber on the phone. Today my new cell phone is to be delivered. Amber's got ruined by moisture getting into hers so she bought a new phone from Verizon and she is getting two more free. Since I am on their plan I will be getting one. Will just put my old one up in case something happens again. Hope everyone has a great day.

I'm 'decompressing" from our week-long all-grade BSC school reunion. I was co-chair of the reunion committee and we have worked hard for over a year to pull it all together. The oldest Spencer "girl" at the reunion is now 92 and the youngest is 46. We all had a great time - how wonderful to see those that I haven't seen since the last reunion in 2000.

This afternoon I am going to a memorial service for one of our teachers who passed away in March. She was much loved and we expect a big crowd of former students to be there.

Tonight I will be doing absolutely nothing except watching the comedies on TV.

not much going on mid-morning...i do have a lot of my clothes to wash but they'll keep...

after my dr's appt on saturday, we'd gone over to ds1's...they took the girl's bunkbeds apart and dh helped shampoo the carpet...after seeing the huge (yes huge) pile of clothes the girls had, plus toys, plus books, it will be college fund and bulletin boards for christmas...it's crazy to buy "stuff" just because...

guess it's never too early though, to plan for christmas, lol...

I've got my second grandson here today. He's trying to make some money to buy a truck. He's 16; 'nuf said!! I'm cooking lunch for him.

Today's my DGD#3's birthday and they're having a family dinner for her tonight at a new restaurant here. I'm going to take her shopping and let her pick out whatever. I'll put $100. in her savings account, but that's not very exciting to a 9 year old!

Good Morning! Kathleen, I'm so happy to see your morning post again. I hope you'll continue!!! Not much happening here in sunny Arizona. The temp. soared up to 110 on the back patio yesterday and we'll have more of the same today. I'm clearing out paperbacks from three bookshelves and that is a chore! I probably should do it more often! I'm cooking a pot roast for dinner. My little George Forman roaster works so well for that and I don't have to heat the house.
I've refilled my med prescriptions this morning so my motor will keep running for another three months. Life is good!

Good morning from "hot again" Oklahoma. We had a few not normal days for this time of the year, with temps in the 80' and low 90's, but for today we have a promise of 101. Yuck.

and, of course, today is the day that they are finally here to install the new windows.

I am taking off blinds, one window at the time, and have 6 left to go.

Then, clean up after them, and re install blinds.

Stoney, happy birthday to your DH! The guy who was working at the store called the door 1950's mediteranian. Which I can see, but it reminds me of old, Medieval German doors. LOL! It's very heavy, solid wood, dark stained. There's a wooden ornamental peice on the inside which is broken off at the top on one side (I don't care), and has a big, heavy door knocker on the outside. The handles remind me of German doors too or older homes. There is a window on top with leaded glass in a diamond pattern. Lauren, I and one friend think it's cool looking, but we are all a little odd. LOL! I'm going to have it restained, either dark again or medium dark...depending on how the wood looks when it's uncovered.

Phyllis, I agree, we've had lots of rain here too and my tomato plants are loading but not riping much.

Susan, I have to go out and work in the garden still. Only thing I did was pick beans.

Sue, I've been picking green beans for the last few days and now have a big bunch and am getting ready to wash, cut and put them in my crockpot with a porkroast.
