question about some mail in the spam

Recently I have received some mail in my spam stating that I receive it because I have either signed up or subscribed. Example: Today got announcement from Bostonpops==but I know I have never given out any information.

They say to unsubscribe, click here. I just delete but this is getting worst. Anyone else have this problem?

I hate to unsubscribe, as this acknowledges they have reached a active site.

Since you are using Hotmail, you can just add their address and the address of other spammers to your blocked sender list.

When at your Inbox, click on Options in the upper right hand corner, and then choose More Options.
Then choose Safe and Blocked Senders, and lastly choose Blocked Senders.

Fill in their email address and hit Add to List.

" Always happy to have a discussion. Conventional medicine practiced by physicians is science applied with art. The key word is science, that's why the NIH and med schools spend billions each year for research to understand and treat diseases and conditions. Chiropractic practices fail scientific scrutiny, and no research is done. Reach your own conclusion. Benefits are explained by the placebo effect - which is can be real. It's otherwise hocus-pocus, quackery, use whatever words you like . Schools - while most people that apply to med schools aren't accepted, almost all people going to chiropractic schools are. It's about as hard to get in to them as the trade schools that teach auto mechanics. Insurance companies are happy to cover chiropractors because the charges are lower than from physicians. The danger with chiropractors is when they try to treat conditions they don't understand and make the patient think it's unnecessary to see a physician. Most stay away from that because they realize that a backrub does nothing for diabetes, for instance. Backs don't have alignment, and can't be adjusted. If it helps your pain and you feel better, so be it. A native American shaman has about as much to offer you (or more) in medical treatment than a chiropractor.

There is a very effective program that you can download for free called "Spam-Aid", it will block ALL messages that are from anyone that is not listed in your address book.It is installed on your computer as a separate program and you can use it, or bypass it to check your email the usual way without anything being blocked. Just keep in mind when using Spam-Aid to check you mail, EVERYTHING is blocked and deleted at the server except for messages from those that are listed in your address book. It is very effective at what it does, I use it and am well pleased with it. I might add that the program does have a way for those whom you know that are not listed in your address book to get a messsage delivered to you by way of a "password" which they can obtain from a clue you give them in setting up the program. I haven't noticed any such "SPAM" here. Yet. Hometalk also has professionals that reply to questions. All the ones I know of are very helpful to whatever question is being asked and there's no link, other than to their profile, for more information on their services/business. I'll be curious to see how this works here on Houzz.

Never ever ever ever click on anything in one of these mails, especially to "unsubscribe". And it's impossible to b;lock sender because these things really originate from many many sources.

It's best to not even open these things since they can have little "trips" in there to report back that you opened the email and they'll know it's valid and you're looking at it without you even knowing.

If you're on Yahoo and click on "Sender" box at the top of the message list, it'll select all 25 on that list, and when you press "Delete", they'll all disappear at once (after you click to confirm).

If you leave what they used to call "Bulk" and recently changed to "Spam" without any action, after 30 days they'll be deleted by Yahoo automatically.

Some even claim that they're sending from my email address and it's coming to my email address.

Many show the addressee as "Undisclosed recipients".

Sometimes when I'm feeling mischievous (or frustrated) I forward them to one of my screnners, then reply, after deleting indications of the original addressee, with some rude comments.

I've been receiving many claiming that they were sent on the same date of 2036 ... or 2038 ... and I've been known to send a message asking how I'm to know whether I'll be owing any money, need a credit card, etc. then ...

... or even that they ... or I ... will be alive by then.

Many of which get a reply from the claimed sender's ISP reporting that there ain't any such address/person.

Hmph. I got an email yesterday, from Yahoo supposedly.
They were manually verifying my account. If I didn't respond within so many days, my account would be deleted.

They were requiring my username, and PASSWORD. That was the signal that it was a fraudulent email. Delete!
