Question about bouncing back spam

I once mentioned that I bounced back spam and was told that lets them know if is a good address. How can that be any different than closing my account?

EmmaR - How are you bouncing back spam? Are you declaring the email sender as 'spam' within the email application? Or are you looking for an 'unsubscribe' link in the email and clicking on it?

No it is definitely spam. What I do is copy and paste the address in to the blocked area and at the bottom there is an option to bounce it back. I put a check mark in it. It is not in the junk mail stuff. It is in the safety options. I never get from that place again. Here is a pic of the area in WLM 2010. Sorry it is so big but wanted you to be able to read some of it.

Our bouncer is a wet/dry one with a bounce area and a slide. The only part that burns the grass is the part that holds water (that does not blow up) so literally a lining of plastic. It does not burn the grass under the bounce or slide areas. We have the pirate blaster from blast zone Canada. We also have direct sun all day long. I was wondering if I tarped underneath that part if it would help stop the burning of the grass or if filling it with water would stop this? I don't think it can really be avoided. Just to note: The grass does come back it basically only seems to burn the tips. I can send pictures if necessary.

Bouncing Bet is one form of soapwort. It resembles phlox, white/pastel pink flower, blooms most of the summer. Pretty, but be warned, there is a reason it is called "bouncing" bet. It will be here & there throughout your garden. Not a bad thing really I think, & I've found it pretty easy to pull up if you get too much of it. Easy to winter sow.

Here is what I do with spam that I get. I use Outlook Express, XP home, and Firefox. Without opening the email, right click on the email. Left click on the Properties at the bottom of the box. This will bring up a box with a Details tab at the top. Click on the Details tab. Highlight and copy the Internet headers for this Message. Click OK. Now go back to the offending email and click Forward. Enter the appropriate one or more of the address listed below. Either before or after the spam message, paste the Details you copied above. Send the email I do this to most of the spam I get, although I don't get a lot. There is no feedback from most of the addresses below, but it seems that after awhile the email of a similar type stops coming. Hope this help some. Also hope I have typed all the addresses correctly. When I previewed this message, the spaces I had between the type of spam and the address disapeared, so don't include these words as part of the address: child porn, Investment & security, Prescriptions, Spam For child porm (thankfully I have never received any of this) c3@customs.treas.gov Investment & security enforcement@sec.gov Prescriptions webcomplaints@ora.fda.gov Spam knujon@coldrain.net Spam uce.gov Any comments, pro or con?

Ah! Now I understand :) I'm on a Mac most of the time and tend to forget about WLM and Outlook... Nice picture!

I would uncheck that box that says 'bounce the blocked message...' You don't want the sender to know that it is a valid email address that just sent his 'prince wants to send you 1000 US' junk. And if you do open an email that you don't know about, never click the 'unsubscribe' link, it validates your email address the same way.

I know all of the rules, my question is: What is the difference in the email being bounce back to the sender or an account being closed. Wouldn't the email be returned as undeliverable. How does the sender know the difference. It wouldn't exactly say bounced back by sender!
