What Has Everyone Been Doing Today?

Everyone was too tired to go to church so sort of slept in. I got up around 7:30. Emptied up the dishwasher, filled the dishwasher, washed a bunch of stuff that would not fit. Did a couple of loads of laundry. Fixed breakfast, don't normally do that for the two of us. I looked at some of the new cookbooks I bought and then thought I would take a nap. That didn't work, Cheryl and Kevin came by and wanted us to ride with them to my Mother's house that is getting a good remodel. It is looking pretty good, still a lot of work yet to be done. I like the patio door with a view of the river. Drove back and went to McDonald's other's got ice cream, and I just wanted a drink. We stopped by Amber's and Cheryl picked up her cookbook I had given her that she left there yesterday. I came home and fixed hubby and me a ham sandwich and leftover pie. I took that nap finally. I changed the sheets on my bed, rather hard to do with a playful Pomeranian wanting to help? That has pretty much been my day. How was your day? Hope it was a good one!

Nothing much!

Dinner for lunch per usual, out! Yuck, chicken and dressing. Celery and onions were not cooked before adding to the dressing to bake. Ended up picking the onions and celery out. What a shame.

Up at 4 drove to the shop and got my motorcyle. Went for a beautiful ride up the coast almost to Cocoa Beach. Stopped for a Coke. Rode home made corn muffins and a lemon meringue pie. Made DH chocolate chip pancakes and bacon. Did three loads of laundry, changed the sheets. Made dinner to share with our sweet neighbor. I've still got to do my toenails and take a shower.

I was surfing through them today and noticed one member name that came up 3 different times...all spelled the exact same way. I think part of the problem might be with the 2 different search boxes. If one is told to do a search in the box found at the bottom of the page, they will get all posts for that member on ALL forums. Now as most of us veterans know, if one does a search in the search box found just below the list of 'threads' then the search can be narrowed to just searching the Rate and Review Forum. Possibly we should start a Suggestion (and crusade) to have to search box put up at the top of the page and it be just specifically for search results on the Review Forum. There is a search box at the top at the Pond Forum that will yield only the results for that forum. There is also one at the very bottom of the page which will yield posts for the whole site...very confusing. There was a suggestion about this b4 the Suggestion Box was emptied at the old Suggestion and 'comment' Forum. I agree...it is gonna be a real mess in time. Maybe it would help if when any of us see a second thread started for the same member, we post a link to the second one of them and maybe request that future posts be made to the thread that was started first....or you know what I mean...don't ya? I hesitate to do anything myself, as I don't want to appear as any more of a busy body than I already have...lol Sue Here is a link that might be useful: Ponds and Aquatic Plants Forum

Very unproductive day here, I fear. It's been raining for days and days. Thought about running up to the Amish market, but didn't feel like driving an hour in the rain. Nixed that idea. Couldn't work in the garden. DH called and said he has to work overtime tomorrow, so he won't be able to meet me at the country house tonight--so didn't have to make my usual fancy Friday night dinner (after not seeing him for days, I like to give him a really good meal). Mostly just hung around here, playing on the computer. Finished a book I was reading. Did wash the 'treasures' I'm taking to the roadshow tomorrow, and packed them in a couple of baskets so they'll be easy to hold while we stand waiting in line. Just grabbed a quick dinner. According to weather.com, it's supposed to stop raining SOMEtime this evening, but don't know if there's really anyplace I want to head out to. Maybe I'll toss a pan of brownies in the oven for DH. And maybe some muffins for DD and I to munch in the car on the way to Atlantic City. Hope it's nice tomorrow. As great as the rain is for the garden, I'm getting just a bit tired of seeing it. Okay, I'll stop complaining now....

It was Monday... I was greeted at work with a squealing computer power source/surge protector. We'd lost power in every electrical outlet one on side (the library side) of the building. I ran extension cords to power the suge protector and my library computer so I could work until my boss decided what to do. 22 kids came to story time. This is the best part of my job! Today we read about imagining what we could be when we grew up then drew our adult selves on the sidewalk with chalk. I'm going to be a cowgirl.... Then some patrons came in to use the computers. These two are regular abusers. I have two computer stations. She uses one of the libraries machine. He parks his butt in the other patron computer station and uses his laptop. And they will stay there forever. Even though I TOLD them we were having electrical problems the guy said 'oh I can plug here' and pulled the power to the library computer. Good thing I back up every day! My library software is corrupted. I can't access books or patrons. As husband would say 'I'm dead in the water' I called tech support. It seems our subscription expired June 30, 2009. Lots of people visited today and checked out books. I wrote down names and barcode numbers (about a hundred books), emailed my boss and put it all in his lap and came home. Now I am editing and uploading photos. Lori

We spent a little over 4 hours on the road today to visit my sister and then return home. It was a beautiful day for traveling, and wonderful spending time with my sis.

I slept in until about 9:00, and then I got up and did some weeding for a while. I came in, played on the computer, and then I started sauce for supper. I called my dad and two brothers. My friend Pat came over, and after supper I went for a walk with my friend Mary. After that, I walked the dogs. My friend Sandra called after that. I guess I was on the phone a lot!

We spent most of the day at a car show held by the a German Singing & Sports Club in a place called Stoksey castle, in Berks county.

We took the street rods. Had 8 cars representing our club.

Lots of German food, beer and music..and the weather was perfect.

Sundays must be 'change the sheets' day ... I did, too. Also did two loads of laundry (including the dirty sheets). Gave the last two yorkies their haircuts and spent quite awhile working on Molly's ear, she's got mites and did *not* appreciate getting it cleaned. I don't know why, but with her it seems to be an ongoing battle.

We had a birthday dinner for one of DS's friends yesterday, DS had smoked ribs and I'd made potato salad and baked beans, so we had that for dinner today too. Right now I'm working on a windchime a dear friend ordered for another friend. It's almost done and sounds soooo nice.

I am home after riding and climbing in and out of a bus for 11 days. It was worth it for the things I saw, we live in a wonderful country. As a young man in Africa said, "God blessed you with your country". Amen to that.

Went to bed 3:30 AM and got up around 9 am. A little slow start to my day but I did achieve to clean under and behind the fridge and stove with some help from DH. After I got finsihed I went and saw DS for a short bit then home so DH and I went out to dinner for some crabs. I came back home, took a 2 hour nap, got a shower and put some clean clothes away. Now, I am watching tv. Waiting to start another day on Monday!

Up fairly early. We made a bakery run, had breakfast.

Then I boiled eggs, made iced tea, emptied/filled the dishwasher. Then DD called and said she was coming to pick me up and go to the 11:50 (AM) show of Harry Potter. So popped some chocolate chip muffins in the oven. Visited with her a while, went to the movies (loved it!).

Came home, made lunch, visited some more with DD. While we were talking I made a chocolate raspberry tart for the guy next door (his birthday). Then, after dd went home, I finally got around to doing the weeding I'd planned to do this morning. It was more fun going to the movies, though!

morning! we are in TrabenÂ´on the mosel river, staying in another youth hostel. lauren and i ate breakfast, boys are still sleeping. we are leaving in a little bit to drive to koln to go to the zoo. this keyboard is driving me nuts...the letters are in different places...well, some of them. so excuse my mistakes.

we are here for three days going to trier tomorrow and then frankfurt on wednesday, fly out on wednesday morning. it will be good to get home. lot of things have changed here, the base i used to work at is completely changed, do not recognize anything about it as they have moved the old gates and the main road has changed outside it.

i also could not find the last house i lived in, used to be a tiny village with one main street and maybe 20 homes, now has 2 streets and no sign of the old house.

cannot wait to get home and catch up on everyone here at the kt.
