Anthony Jurors........

How long do you think it will be before some of the names of the jurors gets out? People in their home towns and work places know. Someone will let it out. I would not want to be any of them.

IMO, the would be smart to keep CASEY off the street - someone will harm her if they recognize her!

I had been waiting to see "Hot Coffee" for quite a while,so watched it and recorded it the first night it came on. Oliver Diaz, the former Supreme Court Justice from Mississippi that is featured in it is one of my very good friends from childhood and he was very excited about the film. It's definitely time for some changes in our system, I'm just not sure we'll ever get those in charge to agree on the proper changes.

Just watched the ABC World News' update on this case. The anchor commented on how the Anthony's support of their daughter has waned significantly since Casey's accusation of molestation at the hands of her father and brother. Seems as tho Casey is willing to put her parents/family through whatever hell she deems necessary in her own twisted mind in order to avoid prosecution. Did I hear correctly that she wanted her parents to use the reward money to post her bail? What a sick, sick, sick girl. Her daughter was still missing at that point and all she wanted was to be set free. Speaks volumes of her character or lack thereof IMHO. I feel terrible for her parents. They seem to have made a very nice home for their unwed daughter and grandchild. How awful it must be for them, especially Mrs. Anthony. IRC, she originally placed the call to the police about the vehicle having been missing, and the subsequent "odor" in the car being similar to that of a dead body. From what I've seen, I believe Mrs. Anthony is/was a nurse? Sadly, the tapes of the parents visiting their daughter in jail were played. That girl was treating her parents terribly from the moment she was arrested. I can only imagine that this was not new behavior. With regard to the death penalty, it was reported that unless/until the prosecution can prove that Casey in fact murdered little Kaylee, she will not be subject to the death penalty. I do think it would be a shame if the prosecution offers Casey a plea. Especially if the plea is in exchange for a confession or details of what happened to her daughter. At this point I don't think it matters, the child is gone. As far as I can tell, Casey will say/do anything, notwithstanding whether her testimony is truthful. Kaylee's mother definitely played some role in at the very least, the coverup as to the where, when and how's of her young daughter's demise.

The Defenses opening statement was Caylee died on June 16th due to drowning in the family's backyard pool. Casey suffered years of abuse (sexual) from her Father and also her Brother. Because of that she lived in denial and learned to act if everything was normal and she lied about everything to make it so. They claim Casey's Father found her in the pool and disposed of the body because Casey's Mother would never forgive her. He then tried to 'frame' Casey to make it look like murder. Somehow they are tying the meter reader who found the body into this as well. Her lawyer repeated a few times 'follow the duct tape trail'. We shall see. Imagine if they can find a link between George (Casey's Father) and the meter reader! This case would be turned upside down!!!! Say George did hide the body, told the meter reader where it was and asked him to report it and keep the reward!!???!!! That would explain the 3 calls he made over a period of months. He called but the police didn't find the body. One cop was fired over not taking the call seriously. Remember Dominic Casey (the Parents lawyer) was seen walking around that area with a cell phone prior to the body being discovered. She cries during the testimony when the jurors are present, but laughs and jokes when they leave the room at times. This case has so many twists and turns I can't help but watch and speculate.

Thank you to those who seem to have a good handle and understanding of how the legal system works, and sharing it with us. I think a lot of the posts, from members like me, is mostly personal opinion and wishful thinking of what we would like to see happen to Casey and how we wish things had turned out. In my opinion, there is room on this site for our thoughts, and the expertize of the 'experts' without chastising and belittling. Personally, I wish Casey would take a long walk on a short pier.

Aren't these high profile case jurors, always interviewed on talk shows, like 60 minutes, Dateline, etc.? I wonder if these will consent to be interviewed, sometime down the road.

You know, you can believe in your heart of hearts that someone is guilty, but when you serve on a jury, it must be proven to you beyond a reasonable doubt. The defense did a great job placing that seed of doubt. When you think back to the Scott Peterson case, there was tons and tons of evidence. There simply wasn't in this case. When you're trying a case on circumstantial evidence, and asking a jury to give the death penalty, you just need more evidence than the prosecution came up with. JMO

The jury did a good job and came to the same conclusion that I would have as I would want to uphold the law and the law states beyond a reasonable doubt. Since we have no idea what happened to the child, there's reasonable doubt. I'm not happy about it but they did their job.

I don't recall "tons and tons of evidence" in the Scott Peterson case.

There was actually 'less' evidence in the Petersen case but as one person has said .. Petersen had a 'Creep' factor going against him!

Peterson was a man. The average person does not believe a woman could kill her own child. (curious with our abortion laws when you think of it.) Being female was all most needed to say there is "reasonable doubt" The fact that she said nothing for a month, and only then when grandma came looking was all the "proof" I needed to convict. Any doubts are UN-reasonable doubts. Reasonable thinking says she is guilty. If I see a shooting and deny it, I can be tried as an accessory, convicted and put in jail. Cases like this is why people need to understand we have a LEGAL system, not a JUSTICE system.

I don't blame the jury - they made the decision they had to make based on the letter of the law. What we need is a new law in this country that says that if your small child disappears and you say nothing and they end up dead, you are guilty of murder whether you committed it or not. In my mind, that makes her an accessory whether she actually killed Caylee, whether someone else did, whether it was an accident, whether Caylee just wandered off. She was Caylee's guardian and protector. I don't need to know the details of Caylee's death - I still blame Casey Anthony.

Sure there was a "reasonable doubt". These jurors were given the evidence, the testimony. Plus two days of summation by the prosection and defense. And the judge's instructions. I heard the jurors, all from another county, would be kept in "protective custody" for a few days to a week. Once they are released, they will be free to talk to the press, go home and resume their lives, whatever they want. Casey will probably find a way to cash in on her fame- thru stories to the tabloids, a book deal, etc. As far as I am concerned she is what my parents used to call "White Trash." And she will answer to God one of these days-she can't fool HIm.

The jurors have already been sent home. An alternate juror spoke today on GMA. I do think they will eventually speak out on some show like Dateline or 60 minutes but for now, they need to get back to their lives, jobs and families. It couldn't be easy for them to make this decision - but they had to go on what was presented.

Ask 300 people if they are willing to be sequestered for at least a month, on a high-profile case and 299 people with lives will try to find a way to get out of it.

The one juror you have left is unreasonable. How? The Anthony jury was looking for the CSI moment. The DNA that would (in their minds) nailed the case. The prosecution didn't have that to help the jury make up thier minds.

Add to that the confusion, ineptness, delays, motions to mistrials, smokescreens, etc., etc., etc., thrown to them by Baez, and you have a jury that no longer knows the difference between reasonable doubt and any doubt.
