Update on The Spilled Diesel In My Jeep

Well it took about 2 weeks to get rid of most of the smell. If the car is closed up you still get whiff of it, but not as bad.

We ended up removing the carpet. Then I scrubbed down the entire car with Dawn Lemon dish soap. I also scattered baking soda in the entire car- we did that every morning and left it all day, cleaning it out in the evenings.

We also bought a couple odor control things at the dollar store. Citrus is what really took most of the odor out. We used some Goo Be Gone again on the dash and hard surfaces. I was able to leave all the windows down and the back up during the work day and just airing it out did wonders.

So there you are- it is not perfect but at least I can drive it without getting a headache. Took a few times of running the air conditioner to get it worked out of that system too!

Trish

PS: Thank you for all of your suggestions- I was so ready to just drive the thing off a cliff if I could find one!
