Geese can be very possesive and messy. Is she near lakes or rivers? Only thing I can think of is to try to cover the pool for day or so. Hope others have better ideas. Marilyn C who use to post here would have some ideas.

Inflatable pool toys like alligators, etc will deter ducks and geese from pools.

Ducks fly into my inground pool quite often. Just last month I had a mama duck and her 2 babies make their home in my yard and pool. Of course they are cute to look at, but I did not want them taking over my yard and pool, plus I have a labrador puppy. I put a ramp in the pool for babies to get out and then once that happened, I had to direct them to a safe location as Mama duck watched from a distance.

Any goose that figures that it has taken over ownership of the place, and chases off an this "intruder" (whom it may not recognize as the former, uncompensated, owner) ...

... is going to have to deal with an armed robber ...

... in the near future!

I'd prefer to have something like a whip, which would cause the interloper, claiming to be the newly hatched owner, to think twice about staying, without causing damage.

But probably take a weapon, as well, that could cause damage, if I felt myself to be endangered.

Probably try to enlist an ally, to present the goose with multiple troublemakers - to bring on trouble from (at least) two sides. To make the staying appear to be worth less than the effort needed to exert one's newly hatched claim to ownership ... well, "occupancy": "unmolested" occupancy, that is. Since "molestation" carries a differnt meaning, I guess I should use the more accurate term of "unchallenged".

My friend had geese come to her pond, with waterfall, they really created a problem... they plugged up her filtration system....

Yep..we have a river here and it isn't too far from her house. It's also close to one of our hospitals, There are geese everywhere hospital. I think they did relocated those because they were a traffic hazzard and some of them were getting hit and killed. They are so tamed, they'll come right up to you!

My friend has a Wire-Haired Fox Terrier that loves that pool! In fact, HE was the main reason they got the pool!lol She said Jack wasn't too thrilled that the goose was in HIS pool this morning!

Canadian Geese, I presume!

We are overrun with those critters. Lots of times I get held up by them crossing the road.

They don't give a hoot. No fear of humans!

geese ducks and any other water fowl in a pool is bad news, they not only make a mess in the water and get feathers all over but since they come from algae laden lakes and ponds they infect the pools with all that bad algae, and usually it is the dreaded yellow or black algae that are very hard to get rid of in a pool. My sister lives on a lake and her pool is very close to the lake she has this problem regularly.
When we were in Oklahoma we had herons nest in an empty tree fill acreage right beside us and we had them in our pool all the time it was awful, even finding dead ones in there. Not to mention they have a lot of bugs including fleas!
Messy stuff for a pool owner to deal with.

You can get floaters that look like animals that might help but it is doubtful, nothing helped with the herons not even my Great Danes barking at them from the sides.

Decoys. Decoys can be surprisingly effective as a deterrent of Canadian geese.
�Predator decoys. If buying a dog is out of the option, you can always buy a decoy dog or coyote to keep in your yard. By moving it around every other day, you can possibly keep Canadian geese off of your property

LOL...yep that's a life jacket and it's FOR a dog! Even has a carry handle on top of it! He also has GOGGLES and FLOAT!! This is the most spoiled dog I have ever seen! He has almost as many clothes as I do and he LOVES to get dressed up! I swear if he didn't belong to a friend...I'd steal him!

That dog is a cutie. A friend had a pug and bought it a leather (real stuff) bomber jacket. Her DH about had a fit.

To keep water foul out, use a pool cover. Keep the cover in place at all times except when you are using the pool.

Geese, ducks, and herons will contaminate the pool with feces and water borne infections. If your chlorine concetration is not great enough, the pool will not be safe to use.

Our neighbours had a pair of Canada Geese nest and have babies in their inground pool one Spring. They eventually left when the babies were old enough but tried coming back the following year. The pool owners had purchased one of those firm pool covers you can walk on. The Geese were very confused. They hung around several days before they gave up on that nesting site and moved on.

I am amazed the presence of a dog doesn't take care of the fowl issue.

I had 2 Great Danes and another large dog and those herons and egrets were not in the least bit scared they would fly from the trees right into the pool and the dogs were chasing around the pool and barking. None of my Great Danes have ever been swimmers in fact if they fall in they go straight down I nearly lost a couple of them because of that. If it were a water dog that would get in the pool that would probably deter them.

They could try putting up a coyote looking decoy. My nephew did this in K.C. to keep geese off the school grounds where the kids play. It worked!
