Make Your Home More Man-Friendly
Ladies, Consider Paring Down the Frills for a Change You Both Can Love
Ladies, if you've been forcing your man to live in frilly pink ruffled surroundings, perhaps you can take it down a notch and make things a bit more masculine. Pardon any of my stereotypical gender assumptions (men like neutral palettes, pictures of planes, pool tables and leather; women like pink and flowers), but it seems we often relegate "masculine design" to some sports-themed man cave in the basement or the garage. This bedroom's rich palette is gender neutral, yet warm, tailored, and inviting.
This paired down eat-in kitchen's crisp palette is pleasing to everyone.
Rustic touches like warm wood and a pared-down bedscape keeps things gender-neutral.
Reclaimed boards, tufted leather dining chairs, a handsome bar and a flat screen – what more could he ask for?
Here we're stepping into man cave territory. You don't have to go this far, but you may just get The Wife of the Year Award if you do.
Black, white and glass make this contemporary office a place where everyone wants to spend time.
This unique kitchen was clearly inspired by a love of the woods, and the results are stunning.
Graphic artist Maya Drodz and her hubby have found a good palette that pleases them both and allows floral pillows to work in the mix.
Dramatic architecture, shiny herringbone floors, oversized mirrors, a dash of Wegner and a dollop of Mies add up to a very sophisticated room.
The lack of clutter in this small living room gives it a clean look, and its neutral palette, chrome, glass and heavy wood will make him want to spend time in here.
An alcove off a bright white kitchen seems like the man of the house's dedicated area. This is a great way to get him to spend more time with you in the kitchen.
