The longest neck....and....his eyeball is above the back of his mouth.....that's just not normal. I think there must be a nuclear testing site nearby.....just saying...:0)

Mr Bitey is a Black Ratsnake. He's about 4 feet long. I've seen him a number of time around my house and garage, and have got quite close to take pictures of him. Which is why I think I must have stepped on him when he bit me. I'm actually glad to see that he's Ok after being stepped on. In this picture you can see that he is zig-zaggy (which I think he does when he's scared and trying to avoid detection) the way the light reflected off of his scales makes the zig-zags look like lumps. Hmmm. My photo hosting site seems to be down. Edited to upload image to GardenWeb This post was edited by bob_cville on Sun, Jul 13, 14 at 21:16

So pretty, Casey. You and your sister must be having a wonderful time hiking together. Spring Azure butterfly. Perfectly matches the color and pattern of the tiny flower it is sipping from.

murraysmom, my mother used to parboil them just long enough to soften them up a bit. Then she would cut them in half, scoop out the squash meat and mix it with ground beef or pork, chopped mushroom, onions, bread cubes like the ones used in stuffing, a little garlic powder and salt and pepper. She'd then fill the shells with the mixture and bake (I'm guessing around 350) until cooked all the way through and kind of toasted on the top. They were delicious!
