Nathan Update

Right after they came back from the MRS test in California, week before last, Nathan came down with the flu. They said it was Influenza A, but took swabs and sent them off to be tested anyway. He had the Swine Flu. I'm sure glad DD stays on top of his symptoms, and he shares with her any changes. I knew he had had a very high temp. when he got to the ER, and they put him on antibiotics right away. He's having treatment today.

You mentioned the MRI's Does your Dr or medical center use Pet Scan? They do here as it is not as hard on some of the organs,like liver etc. and it shows more cancer. DH is getting ready to do his third one. But he also gets checked for bladder cancer. His other cancer seems to be in remission at this time. He just had a Ritouxin treatment, again not as hard as some of the other drugs he has had. I do wish you the best and the water therapy is great. They use it here also, I think. Marie

Leslie, Nate is in my thoughts alot lately. I hope his newest treatment can help shrink the tumor very soon. This was Jan. 9th of course. Your work on this benefit brought happy tears to my eyes. Your whole family did an amazing job. Nate had sooo many friends there. Watching Nate's friends lining up to talk with him and I could see their love for him as they each took a turn. Thanks for taking the time to mug with us. I have some others I thought were nice but wasn't sure I should share them on a forum. Some of us....Leslie a wonderful grandma! Leslie...This is good news....I hope it never gets active again and he will be able to live a happy normal productive life, as any handsome young man shoudl be able to.....Hope he grows old and gives you some handsome little great grandsons to hug. Oh geez, he sure didn't need that, did he? Neither did your DD (who really is dear). Bless her for taking such good care of him.

Good grief, can't that boy ever get a break??? He's just had such a tough time of it ...

I sure hope he gets better soon.

Thanks everyone. Eva, isn't Care Pages great? I've been following a couple of others there. They are 6 or so years younger than Nate. It's been very sad lately. Nathan has such a good outlook, and lots of faith. He bounced back real quick after being on antibiotics for a week. And yes, his mom is a dear daughter. And a great mom.

Thinking good thoughts for Nathan. The WHO says that this flu tends to hit young people.
