Update on DGS Nathan

He's started his 2nd month of the higher dose of chemo pills. He has blood work done every couple of weeks. He's lost a few pounds, but will remedy that with a daily smoothie made with ice cream. He said "Oh, well that's no problem." He's on the pills this week, which make him nauseous with certain smells, so he'll do his anti-nauseous morning and evening, instead of just evening (when he also takes his chemo pills). Then next week, he'll feel somewhat better, and improve each week, until time for the next round.

He got his drivers license last week, so he's getting to drive himself to school. He's so proud of that.

Leslie...This is good news....I hope it never gets active again and he will be able to live a happy normal productive life, as any handsome young man shoudl be able to.....Hope he grows old and gives you some handsome little great grandsons to hug. Nate's such a great kid. I'm glad he's doing well. I hope he will soon be able to get off the steroids completely. I'm going to the web site to leave a donation Leslie. Back in the 1970s my sister used to be an entertainer over there. She did some of the traditional dances and she did some with a baton that had fire at both ends.

Thanks everyone. Eva, isn't Care Pages great? I've been following a couple of others there. They are 6 or so years younger than Nate. It's been very sad lately. Nathan has such a good outlook, and lots of faith. He bounced back real quick after being on antibiotics for a week. And yes, his mom is a dear daughter. And a great mom. Leslie

So happy to hear how's he's doing. He's such a handsome young man with a sparkle in his eyes, a big smile and looks like the picture of health.

He's an absolute doll Leslie. Glad he's tolerating the treatment with minimal side effects. He does have a great attitude and that will serve him well.

Gee, I'm not sure about the girls falling all over him. He doesn't share that kind of news with this ol gramma. LOL Of course, I'm sure they are.
He does have a great attitude. His brother, and his brothers friend, and he were all riding on a jet ski this weekend. His brothers friend bought it off e-Bay and was testing it out. Kind of a last hurrah for the summer water sports. Not that he'll quit if something is available to do, he'll do it. He was a varsity freshman wrestler for his school last year, but didn't go out this year, due to the fact his stamina isn't so great right now. Also his immune system is compromised being on the chemo, and he has to take an antibiotic. He's a good sport about it though and goes to all the sports activities and cheers on his buddies. Maybe next year he'll be able to do it again.

Aw, grandma's pride and joy! I hope he can get through this course of chemo pills with the same smile he started with. He sounds like a good guy with lots of spirit!
