Jammer, If you are aiming at me with your reply, no, I`m not bent out of shape at all, I just disagree with your interpretation of what you`ve read. You and I do agree that a richer oil/gas ratio offers better protection, we also agree that under many circumstances a richer ratio will produce more power, but there are caveats to that statement. My book clearly states that some castor bean based oils, not generically vegetable oils, are as good for wear protection as SOME synthetics, not all. Furthermore, castor bean oils are notorious for gummy deposits. If you are constantly tearing the engine down as you would with a racing engine you would also be cleaning it on a regular basis. A daily driver type engine that doesn`t get regular cleaning is going to eventually suffer from the gumming. Synthetics like the now discontinued Mobil MX2T are excellent at decarbonizing and degumming those nasty engines run regularly on castor oil, maybe some of the other synthetics will be as well. I haven`t had need yet to find out but I guess I`ll have to try something new now, maybe the Castrol synthetic when my 2T supply runs out.

I got my seeds December 13 but I was in a self-imposed exile from the boards at the time (mandated extra hours of work, and GardenWeb forum browsing is a real time-sponge for me :-]), so although I did email Sue that I received them, now that I am done with work I wanted to post my heartfelt thanks to all who checked my list and their stashes for matches, and particularly shimla, poisondartfrog, remy, etravia, flowergardenlady, linda0210, and kandituft who have reduced my wish list, and especially susiek who not only helped reduce my wish list but hosted this great swap and restored my faith in big swaps :-). Getting that package in the mail was a big mood-lifter! I have ramped up milk jug collecting (planning a trip to the recycling center to swipe some from there) and bought 200 pounds of soil from Wal-Mart. Thanks again to everybody. I called and at least got them to move the appt. from the 26th to the 14th. I guess if you not dying, then there is no big rush. I know I should be relieved, but I just want to know what is going on. I got the results in an email and it was not normal, but the explanation was medical gibberish to me. I did lots of web searches but it more confusing than helpful. I need the doctor to explain it. I want to move on with my life and not have this hanging over my head. Clare
