Update on my heart dr app

Yesterday I went back to my Cardiology[I think is the word for heart dr] and He was upset when he looked at my feet.They were BLACK.He said Judy I am not still satified that there is not a blockage some where in your legs.So back to testing.He put my feet in his lap and start rubbing them to see if he could get them back to normal.But they were just really cold he said.

Greg ,Ashley and I are going to leave on vacation going to Tenn Aquarium and we really need this vacation.I asked if we could wait till we get back before starting the several test I am going to go thur.He said only thing.How will you do the walking.Because the trip does involve alot of walking.Another problem.I could take the wheel Chair.So we are talking about this.Something will work out.

Dr McBrayer my heart dr asked me to take his number in case I have problems.I thought was really sweet of him.Not only is he very nice looking I love him to pieces.A great bedside manners.Greg bought me a good pair of tennis shoes but I can not wear tennis shoes.I wear house shoes because of the pain in my feet and legs.

Even though my family dr called it raynaud disease Dr mc Brayer said he was not disagreeing with my family dr But for them being so black he wanted to double check again making sure he does his part.Dr McBrayer said Judy I know you have to be in pain.But pain meds does no good.Mortin helps more.

I just wanted to post this for the ones who have wrote and asked for a update.

The tests I am having is ABI and a CTA---The first test I can not eat nor drink for 4 hrs before I leave.But the day before I have to drink 64 oz of water.I have not drunk water in many years.When I try I get very sick.This will be very hard.They said I could drank gatorade along with water.

Some involve needles.Ouch!!!!

I'd put the trip off Judy. Get yourself fixed up so you can walk around and enjoy it too. Black feet doesn't sound like anything to wait on. You could end up losing them.

Black legs are a very bad symptom, as grammahony said...your cardiologist is right, tests should be run as soon as possible. You could have a bad blood clot that could travel to your heart or brain.

Please get the tests done.

Luvs, my DDIL is absolutely the best. I am so lucky Jason married her. By the way, hope your DH had a nice birthday. My oldest son turned 44 yesterday. (shaking my head over this, hard to believe). DH finally felt pretty good today and hopefully the worst is over. Think positive, everything is going to go smoothly and your sister will have a short recovery time. Thank you, everyone, for all the kind thoughts, prayer and support and emails. I am sorry for not getting back sooner. It has been a long week, but my mom is settling down just a little bit but so very unhappy to be where she is. As it stands now, she will be going into assisted living right here in my town. It didn't take long for my sister and I to realize that it would not be wise to try and take her to my sisters home. Like jannie's DH, my mom doesn't think there is anything wrong enough to warrant medication, etc. Yesterday they tweaked her anxiety meds just a little bit. This could explain why she was a little better today. I think she only cussed a half dozen times and wished the place would burn down only once or twice. I have to smile just a little bit because there is a smidgen of humor to her behavior. I'm hoping the weekend will go as smoothly as today did because at the moment she believes she is going home next week. The staff tried to talk with her about going into assisted living but she wouldn't hear about it. Next week, making the move to AL is going to be the worst for her, I think. The AL administrator asked that we not visit for 5 to 7 days. That is going to be hard on all of us and I'm not sure that's the right thing to do. How do we know what kind of care my mother will get? Yes, this is in my town and I do know people that have been in there but we have no firsthand experiences. In the long run, I just hope that she will find some kind of joy in life again and maybe even make some friends in there.

I agree with both of the above. The trip is not as important as your health. What would your family do without you or what would you do without feet or legs?
Forget the trip you can always go when your health is better and then you would enjoy it more.

Those black feet sound like a dangerous symptom. Hope you don't have to use the cardiologist's number; actually, I think you should put the trip off and put your feet up.

Judy, I have severe Raynaud's, and others at the KT have it, too. Your cardiologist might be reluctant to disagree with your family doctor, but I don't mind doing it: What you have does not sound anything like Raynaud's. First of all, Raynaud's involves the capillaries, usually in the toes. Secondly, it's an abnormal response to cold. Someone experiencing Raynaud's symptoms in Alabama in July seems highly unlikely.

Definitely postpone the trip.

Sorry Judy, but have to agree with everyone above, put the trip off and see about your health ASAP. Can you postpone the trip until after your tests? If so, that's what I would do so you could enjoy it more and get on the road to better health quickly.
So glad you have such understanding doctors, that's something to be thankful for nowadays. (((Judy)))

I too would love so so much to know what is really going on.I have battle with this for two years and I am so so sick of this.I started forget drs all togethers bacause not knowing really what is this.when they are the blackest I can work with them and get them to look better but my little toe and the side of my foot stays black.I know this is odd.IT is to me.My heart dr has already tested me for blockages but since they were bad yesterday he wanted to re-test me.He said I was ok for the trip other than walking will be painful.We want be gone other than a few days but anything can happen we did not go.I really really need to get away.Thanks for the advise and I will take it in consideration in deciding.I will if I can post before we leave if I am able.My computer is barely working.IT takes so long to post.I hate to even sign on.Thanks again for caring.Do not worry.If I can not get on my computer the library is across the road from me and I will go there to post before I leave.I have a dr app with my neurology wed and I want to see what he saids when I tell him what the heart said.

There is only one of you and your life is the result of the choices you make. PLEASE listen to the doctor. My husband has severe coronary disease with very bad circulation. He is not diabetic. However due to poor circulation, an ingrown toe nail he wouldn't see about was the start of his demise. The infection would not clear up due to poor circulation where not enough blood below the knee. After the infection, gangrene, and 5 surgeries, he only has a stump for a right leg.
You are dealing with a serious problem. It will not go a way by itself. Have a pulmonologist do tests and find the problem now.
How much can you enjoy your trip when you can't walk? Is it worth it? Why not get the tests, bypass surgery or medicine to help correct the problem, and then the trip? Life is too short as it is, don't give it up as my husband did. Can't go back and change the past.

One of my legs hurt so bad that I couldn't walk. After one doctor told me he couldn't find anything wrong with it I went to another doctor and he sent me to to see a Cardiovascular surgeon who found I had a blockage in my groin. One week later he put a stink in and I haven't any problems since. My feet or legs didn't turn black. I got every 6 months for a check to see if the stint is still good. I will say a prayer for you. I feel so worried for you, catmom. Are you afraid to find out what's wrong? When I read that your lower portions were black(!), I just couldn't believe the doctor wouldn't get to the bottom of it right there and then. If you feel you must go on the vacation, please use a wheelchair as much as possible and drink plenty of water. Something's not right and the sooner they find out what that is, the better. Take good care!

Judy...I hope you have cancelled your trip, and are getting the tests done today.

If not, I hope you have a cell phone, to call 911 if necessary. From what you described, you are in serious trouble.

for what it's worth, I agree with the others.....PLEASE get those tests done ASAP if not 'yesterday'. Black, cold (no circulation) is nothing to mess with. I'm surprised your dr didn't put you right into the hospital! Please take care of yourself...no one else can.

I agree with what all the others have said about cancelling the trip.Your health is more important than any trip.

A few months ago i had extreme swelling in my legs feet and ankles.My dr ran all sorts of tests,did cat scans of my stomach to see if i had a blockage somewhere,that wasn't allowing me to excrete bodily fluids,blood work up the wazoo etc.Nothing was found.
I was scheduled for a total knee replacement and they ok'd it for me to go thru with it.
Come to find out the swelling was being caused by all the stress i was putting on the good leg because the bad one hurt so much.
They did the surgery,all the swelling went away and has not returned.Thank goodness

Our bodies have a way of showing us something isn't right and yours is SCREAMING!! Please listen to it.
