Last Sept.-enroute back to FL from PA..and visited my favorite city-Savannah! I always make a point to stop there. I'm headed to PA on the 24th but this year I'm flying so will have to miss my 'annual visit' to this charming city.

In early March of this year I went to Alaska to attend the ceremonial and official starts of the 37th annual Iditarod Sled Dog race, aka "The last great race on earth." Since then, have visited a few local areas as well. Plenty to see and do in Southern CA.

regular away vacation was last dec a caribbean cruise at christmas. we go to palm beach or miami for long weekends every couple of months. since the theme parks are local we go to walt disney world & seaworld w/ passes often. we try to get in a couple of other weekends w/in the state (FL) too.

in a month we are going to Chicago (my hometown), we usually go atleast once a yr since i still have a place up there. during nov we're going to atlanta and after our relaxing first cruise last dec we will be going every holiday season. this dec 31 we're going on a western caribbean cruise for a week again. i'd travel alot more if it weren't for my work schedule and DH's college schedule :-) ~ liz

Last trip was to Birmingham. Had lunch with Glenda and got to see my new Granddaughter, Savannah.

Last real vacation was last October to Disney World. Tons of fun with the whole family.

We're in a rut since we bought a condo on Maui. Every winter we go there for 4-5 weeks. This year we stayed a few nights Waikiki before hopping to Maui. Now we know why we just go straight to Maui!

Two of my favorite trips:

Three weeks self catering in the south of England: Converted oasthouse in Kent, cottage at Stow-On-The-Wold in the Cotswolds, converted coach house in Melksham, The Georgian House on the grounds of Hampton Court, The Old House in Birmingham.

Baltic cruise from London with two nights St. Petersburg only months before the end of the USSR.

Grand Canyon a year ago this month.
Headed for Minnesota this year.

Two summers ago we took Nick to Great Wolf Lodge in the Poconos. Last summer Dan was born so we didn't go anywhere and this year we have two kids in daycare so we aren't going anywhere.

Chicago and before that a bus tour of the Pacific Northwest, starting in Vancouver BC. The latter one is my favorite vacations in the US. I always wanted to see the rugged coastline there. We rode 3,600 some miles on the bus, the driver drove it to Vancouver, so he put 2,000 on before he picked us up.

Branson and Eureka Springs a few weeks ago. It's close enough to drive to for us and we never run out of things to do. It's not just country music shows.

Las Vegas - for business.
We had plane tickets to make it a shorter trip, but had to cancel them at the last minute because the pet/house sitter had a situation come up. So, we packed up the RV with everything we owned, including the pets, and made the long trip there from Bend, Oregon.
Las Vegas is not my favorite "destination".
Too many people there for me to feel comfortable.

To my sisters place in Kelso Washington about this time last year.
I spent time with her while she was at the end of her patience going through chemo for breast cancer.

She just moved not far away from her original house, and I would love to go see her. One day soon I hope.

DH just last week got back from sturgeon fishing on the Oregon coast with his dad. I was so envious. I am so glad though that they got to spend this time together.

last 4th we had a family get-together of sorts in rantoul il, lol...but we all camped in a fairly nice place just outside of town, and fil got to meet up with his grands and ggrands, again...

Last was a Christmas escape cruise: San Juan, St Thomas, I forgot the other :o)

About 7 weeks ago to Ma. We were in Burlington Mall and saw a security guard riding one of those Segways. My son made a comment about Mall Cop - I can't remember exactly what he said but I was bent over laughing.

When we got back home he told me that part of Mall Cop had been filmed at that same mall. I had to look it up before I believed it.

Drove to Framingham one day and saw the most unusual Walmart. It was painted white and looked like a house.

Pennsylvania, 2002 to visit some friends from a watergardening forum. I had a wonderful time, but it is the last trip I will ever make. No way I can ever leave home again....too many animals to take care of now.

Pebble beach/Carmel for Thanksgiving. My first time to see the ocean.

Last traveled to Grand Isle, LA. Last vacation was Tennessee.

Ireland last week. I was mostly in Dublin but also toured some of the towns on the Irish sea--Dun Laoghaire, Dalkey. Beautiful!

Washington, D.C. to see my DSIL and BIL. Well, wait we stayed with them and they live in Arlington, Va. We visited Washington, D.C. and New York City. They escorted us around as they are better drivers on their own turf than we would have been, plus they knew the area and best sites.

Oahu a month ago to meet our granddaughter Mio....she is now 8 months old.
It was great seeing my DS and DDIL but it was heaven seeing Jake and Mio.
The weather was perfect.

We took the whole west coast contingent to New York City a year ago this spring to attend youngest son's graduation from law school. We stayed at the Helmsley hotel across from Central Park (Park Plaza?) and son made reservations for us at some of his favorite high end restaurants. We had a wonderful visit, were treated like royalty, and made a significant celebration of the event for our children and grandchild and us. Toddler grandson slept most of the way back on the plane after helping to polish off the fresh fruits my older son had bought for the return trip. He did well on the trip too, which relieved his mother's anxiety and let her enjoy the trip more than she had anticipated.

Hard to believe 2 weeks ago I was in Cancun with my Cuz Mary at her Condo. One whole week of gorgeous Ocean View. I'm ready to go back.

Last August when we took our last trip to No. Georgia mountains. We sold our 5th wheel over Labor Day weekend and have been home since then.

This is our first summer in FL for about 10 years and I am hot, hot, hot!!!

We went to San Antonio in June and it was the hottest, most humid place I've ever been. I walked on the Riverwalk once and that was to go eat. Don't do S A in the summer.

The last time I traveled was to New York for the Great Rosarians of the World conference. That was a year ago in April.

Last Sept, we went to Sierra Madre (Copper Canyon) in Mexico. We did a 8 day tour then and had hoped to do another tour this year. But will probably have back surgery this year so not planning any trip.

Last October I went to Boston, then on to Hanover New Hampshire; Vermont for dinner (funny but that's what we did) then over to Freeport Maine...and back to Boston. It was my second trip to the New England States. I love it there. I want to go back and do more of Mass, and Conn and Delaware.

Friend of mine and I rode Amtrak to Chicago back in May. We had SUCH a good time!

Since I kicked out DH in February, and because I am woefully underemployed, I haven't been anywhere vacation-y in a very long time. Even with DH we mostly went on river trips, where I would shuttle him on his solo runs. Peaceful and beautiful, but not fun or exciting in any grand way. I plan a quick trip to Las Vegas to visit my cousins should I get a job soon. (Cross fingers, toes -- I have two prospects right now!).

One of the prospects would involve some international travel, so I just renewed my passport. Now I'm thinking a week in Paris and French countryside...but only if DH is reasonable about his divorce demands (grrrr) AND I get a job soon.

Just got back from 5 days in Vegas~~~it is OK very crowded but it was the 4th weekend, just not a kids place and we had two teenagers and a baby:(

Last summer we went to Flagstaff AZ for 6 days. Wonderful weather loved it there, side trip to Grand Canyon a must see, also Sedona~~Jerome was neat also.

Lunchlady, isn't Jerome a complete trip to see??? They are like cliff dwellers up there, perched high above Sedona and Prescott.

I just got home from Halifax-Dartmouth on Tuesday evening. I went to help celebrate my uncle and aunt's 60th anniversary and had a great time with family and friends. I just love Halifax and would move there tomorrow if I could so I take every opportunity I can to visit there.

Gunnison Colorado right now, but almost out of online time. :)
