It is nice, but I don't do it.

My mother always had her sheets and pillow cases ironed.

Shortly before I was married, I was at friends house and her mother was ironing sheets. I had never heard of that, and thought it was so cool. When I got married, I decided I was going to do that. Well I started to iron a sheet, got a little of the top done, and thought....not my best idea! I had a friend who ironed almost everything, even her husbands jocky shorts.......then again she also cleaned the crumb tray on her toaster after every use.LOL

Yep Iron them every night when I lay down!

When i was a kid everybody told me mom & dad were in the iron and steel business....Later I found out that was not exactly correct........Mom would stay home and iron while Dad went out to steal a chicken for supper.

My mother had an old mangle iron, and she ironed everything. Not only all linens, but also all clothing, including underclothing!

When I was a child, she dressed me in pinafores, and I always had ribbons in my hair to match my dress. If my clothes got soiled, I was immediately cleaned up and in a new dress before I could go back out to play. Consequently, I learned how to be a tomboy and still stay immaculately clean! My shoes were polished every night AND again while I was napping or having lunch. I was always in dresses--got my first pair of slacks when I was 14 or 15! My mother grew up on a farm (her mother died when she was 5), and she had a hard life...she was determined that I would grow up a "proper lady". RIP sweet Mom

I used to iron our sheets.....loved how they looked and felt but as I got older and wiser, I gave up the habit.
My Mom had a mangle and I remember doing my Dad's overall's and his blue shirts.
Soon after DH and I got married I had to have an out patient surgical procedure. I was napping on the couch and when I woke up DH was ironing his jockey shorts and went on to do his socks. I was horrified because I had never ironed them and because it was the early 1960's, I wanted to be the perfect wife. I told him I was sorry I had never ironed those items.....and he confessed the reason he was is because they didn't get completely dry in the coin operated dryer and he was out of quarters. He still does some of the ironing almost 49 years later.

My mother used to add a bit of starch before ironing the pillow cases!

My mother sent our sheets and Dad's shirts out to the laundry weekly. They had pick up and delivery. I loved those freshly ironed sheets, but I don't do it myself.

I iron my pillowcases but not the sheets - they'll only get crushed when we sleep on them. And I do love getting into bed when the sheets have just been changed - it feels really good.

No way! Who would even see them other then DH & I. He wouldn't even care if I ever changed sheets or make the bed at all. I do though.

I was taught to iron on pillowcases! And I remember my gram and great aunt Marie ironing sheets every Tuesday. I do not iron sheets, tho from time to time I will do the pillowcases if they need it.

You are all too funny. Actually, DH is more like Joann's DH. He doesn't even notice I changed the sheets never mind ironing them. I like it. Otherwise I wouldn't do it. It only takes a few minutes and I do it while watching TV. Like your Mom, Glenda, I use a little spray starch. I do remember those mangles....we never had one but a friends GM had one.

I iron nothing! I grew up wearing starched and ironed clothes......and hate the feel of them. I still don't like the feel of clothes that have been ironed!

My Mother ironed everything, including sheets and underwear, but not towels. I grew up in the 60's, learned to do laundry in college and never ironed anything! Now I'm too old to change!

I ironed my grandmother sheets and all her clothes that needed ironing every Sat. Or Fri. afternoons if I were going some place Sat. I think I started ironing for her about the age of 10 or 11. She taught me how to iron. Now that I have a choice I do not iron any sheet..but, I still iron everything my husband and I wear.(except undees) My SIL thinks I am crazy to iron DH and my blue jeans, but I love to have a crisp crease in the front and back of our jeans.

No way....they just get wrinkled laying on them anyway. Waste of my time, IMO, The only items I iron are "some" of our clothing that warrants a press, and curtains before hanging. Everything else gets used wrinkled or gets fluffed in the drying with the steam option, if needed.

If our clothes get wrinkled I take a wet towel and throw it in the dryer with the wrinkled clothes for a few minutes and the come out wrinkle free.

No I do not iron our sheets. What's the use. Don't have time. I feel pretty darn good that I get the sheets changed once a week. I do iron any clothes that need it though. Some people hate to iron and I really don't mind it, but I really only do it when it has to be done.
My mom irons alot. I think she irons just about all of her and dad's clothes, (not underwear though).
