Gotta say, I'm utterly shocked to read this and very sad for you, as it seemed like you were doing quite well and recovering from your family troubles. I'm so very sorry to hear about your Mom; I know you were close and she knew that you loved her very much. Are you doing any better now? Will you continue to have help? I sure do hope so and am glad to hear that your dh is supportive and helpful. Gee, I'm so sorry again, Mepeg for your difficulties. I'll pray for you.

The tough times in life are hard...but, we all do the best we can, and somehow muddle through.

Sorry for the loss of your mom...and so happy you recognize the need to take care of yourself. So many times we just keep on until it's too late for us. My DH is good about reminding me. Hope your doing better in no time.

Sorry to hear of the loss of your mother... and if I am reading your post correctly, I am happy that you are still here with us. Please seek the extra help you may need to get you through this extra hard time. I hope you know there are many people here that care about and are praying for you.

Really sorry to hear about your mother. Take good care of yourself and get well so you can come back and tell us stories again. I miss reading them!

I'm thinking others may not have understood the first part. We are indeed happy that you are still with us! Though I'm sorry you were low enough to get to that point. Very much hoping you have a good doctor(s).

Peg, please keep talking to those doctors. I know how hard it is to lose your mom especially after making the plans for her. Don't let yourself go to that place, it is permanent, there is help. I tell myself that everyday. I know that you were already in the hospital when this happened, please hold on.

My heart hurts for you. I am so sorry. Some things we just cannot change.

I, too, feel sad that you have lost your Mom ... but, as you say, she was questioning whether it was best for her to contnue to be here.

May God grant you courage and strength to go through this difficult time.

Yes ... life teaches hard lessons ... and we are so stubborn, so self-willed, so slow to learn!

I'm thinking about what dotmom said the other day about her having fussed about one of her family having eaten her food over a long term, without showing a speck of appreciation ...

... then her son died.

It helped her to understand how trivial had been her earlier dissatisfaction!

At the same time - she had a point ... it is rather unbecoming for people to take gifts from others for granted, over a long term, without showing any appreciation.

When we find ourselves digging ourselves into a hole ...

... it sure makes sense to ...

... stop digging!

Maybe even ask someone to drop a ladder down ... so that we can climb out.

It seems there has been a lot on KT this year with people losing dear ones and in pain. I am in pain right now. Each and every word above means so much to me. Thank you for being my friends. For those of you who are hurting as well you have my hand too. I am reading a very good book right now by Echo Bodine about souls and God. I ordered a used copy for myself because it is now out of print. I am ready to accept God at last, it has been years. I am not a church goer but I have found a very special spiritual friend who I believe is guiding me right now.
I know this pain will pass, I am worried I will not be strong enough for my youngest nephew. I don't want to let my Mom down.
I promise to keep in touch. This promise I know I can keep.
To all of my other friends hurting, I love you too.

Peggy, I don't post often, but your posts are always heart-felt. I am very sorry for your loss of your Mom.

But your post this AM brought to my mind the quote "With God all things are possible. Joyful wrote mighty fine words and your ladder has been brought to you by your spiritual friend and you have already started climbing it. I am confident you will find strength to help your family through these difficult time.

He gave you talents to share with others and you do that. I have to remind myself that often. I like to remember that the more we "empty the cup, God fills it more".

Oh Peggy! I'm so sorry... My mother was on her way to my house (15 years ago May 14th) when she had a stroke or heart attack - we don't know which - and hit a telephone pole and died instantly. Thank God you have few regrets, being such a good daughter... Bless you and your family. This will get better, I promise. I had the same feelings and thoughts that you're having and they do end. And they made me a better person. Bless your little heart, you've had such a hard time with everything lately, being depressed would be a given to ANY of us... Peggy, so sorry to hear of your mom's passing.

(((Oh Peggy!))) You are a good and kind person. I know you know that I felt terribly neglectful when I had to put my Brother in Hospice and my Mom in a Nursing Home. The hardest thing I ever did. When my Brother finally past away I had tremulous guilty feelings.

I think a Grievance Counselor would be good for you now. You did everything you could for your Mom and she loved you for it.

She is at peace!
