Do your ears hurt?

Reading the post about pierced earrings, I'm curious to see if anyone can't wear "cheap" earrings, when they used to.

I got my ears pierced in my early 20's and I could wear anything. I got my second hole later, and can only wear 14 kt gold. I wear gold studs/with a small diamond in them 24/7.

Lately, my ears burn and sting when I put earrings in my older hole. Even nickel-free earrings hurt. Has anyone else gotten sensitive?

Mine have always been sensitive. I deal with it by coating the posts (or hooks) with either Neosporin or Vitamin E before wearing them.

My ears don't hurt.

They don't work as well as they used to, either: attending plays is frustrating, as I miss so much that it's hard to keep in touch.

So I have an idea. Big Lots carries outdoor containers/pots that have no drainage holes. That always bugged me... until today! I'm wondering if they would be perfect? From what I am reading, colocasia like it very wet - in fact you can submerge them in pots in water/pond. I would like to stick these in the ground, but I do not want to deal with runners and an invasive plant. I think I am going to pick up a couple of those very cheap pots at Big Lots and sink those in the ground with my new bulbs. Help me - is there anything bad about this idea? Carol

trudymom do a search on the "valsalva maneuver". I use it when I fly and it keeps my ears clear. I get terrible pressure build up in my ears - particularly when pilots descend too quickly. have someone who uses the maneuver show you how to do it since it is a little weird - but it does work.

Hugs to all of you who are suffering. My knee that I broke is hurting because I am not walking like I used to because of the weather. I broke it slipping on ice and am not about to do that again just to get exercise. Going up and down the basement stairs to do laundry just about did me in because of the knee pain. I have swollen glands under my arms right now too that are a litte painful. Lydia, I know about that ovary pain and I am 51! I guess I will take it because all my friends are going through Menopause and are suffering more than I am. LOL Carol, let me tell you a little story about what happens when you swallow those raisins whole. LOLOL When my little niece Jennifer (now 34) was a toddler she ate some raisins. I had her on the change table the next day changing her diaper and she passed a little gas and out came a really plump looking golden grape. I was kind of shocked because she hadn't eaten any grapes then I remembered the bowl or raisins. LOL That little tiny raisin rehydrated itelf and came out as a grape. LOL I make sure I alway chew my raisins now. Poor Jenny will never live that story down. Anne

tomatofreak, are you selling your vase or is the ebay one like yours? newhomebuilder, It shows blue on my monitor. I would have taken it in a heart beat! I'd be happy to store it for you ;-) From what I see behind it I would be happy to shop your department store......... I need another chair. The two that came with the set are not living room chairs in my opinion. I like the craigslist chair but I don't like the price at all. I also found a couple of rugs but they are just barely too small. The room evolves. The carpet I have now is on the replace list. Debating what to do on that floor. I think the floor under the carpet is just the wide planks and I think they are painted gray in the middle and brown around the edge. Been a long time since I've seen them. I could wear aluminum foil earings with no ill effects. So, no problems here, at least not yet !

My ears were always sensitive, though I used to wear almost anything, at least for a couple hours at a time. Then, could only wear 14K gold. Now, if I wear any kind of earrings at all for more than a couple hours, my ears get inflamed.

I have tons of beautiful earrings, and I miss wearing them.

I use to be able to wear any kind, but now I am allergic to nickel, I can wear anything except that. I have on a pair of pedal pushers right now that irritates my skin where the back of the metal button rubs on my stomach. It is probably nickel also. When I was younger I had no allergies, but now I have a lot. Mostly minor ones to a lot of things. Seems to be an aging thing.

I once developed a rash near my belly button. I then realized it was the metal snap on the waist of my jeans. I wear only 14KT gold earrings in my pierced ears.
