Never heard of it, but my interest is surely peaked! I love PB&J sandwiches and am always looking for ways to cut calories. Where would I find it?

I find it at our Hy-Vee store in the health food section. They did have it with the regular peanut butter, but now it's in the health food. When I get back and if you want...I'll give you the brand name...you could probably order it online if you can't find it in your local store...it is definitely worth getting!

Interesting. I never heard of it before. wonder what t texture is like? I could see it sprinkled on pasta, veggies or yogurt if there is some crunch to it. If it has more the texture of flour, then the recipe options are much more limited.

So basically it's just peanut dust with the oil pressed out. I think I'll pass. I don't see how they get away with the word butter in the name. Butter implies spread. This stuff isn't spreadable.

wildchild...you can "reconstitute" it...then it's a spread...I mixed it with jelly and it was a spread. Yes, it is like a heavy flour and delicious. I so love peanut butter and so have to watch my weight, and this was the answer for me...it has 85% less calories than regular peanut butter....if it isn't just "like" regular peanut butter, it is well worth the "sacrifice" It would be great mixed with yogurt, although I haven't done that....I use it with jelly and with milk smoothies.

Peanut butter is a healthy fat. A healthy weight loss program includes fat. Fat is what fills you up. The calories are less than real peanut butter in this powdered product but the grams of protein per serving are also half that of real peanut butter. Essential fats are needed to absorb nutrients.

A tablespoon of regular peanut butter and a tablespoon of jam on two slices of regular bread gives you a balanced sandwich that will keep you full for some time for under 300 calories. Use fruit spread instead of jam and you cut more calories without losing nutritional value. Use light bread and you save a bit more. But peanut butter is a nutritional food with few empty calories and staying power.

To call this stuff peanut butter is like taking powdered cocoa with water and and calling it a candy bar.

But if you enjoy it go ahead and use it. I choose real food.

I'm a long-time Weight Watcher and I've been at goal for almost eight years...I know all those answers you are stating...I get my healthy fats in, but I love this peanut butter/jelly thing and use it for my dessert often.

There is some bread called, "Arnold's Rounds" and they are one WW point. It is like a dense, flat bun...that and my peanut butter/jelly is only three WW points.

I cut calories and add flavor where I can...I know all about what you are saying...this sandwich would be less than two hundred calories...

If you enjoy "real" food, go for it, I'm not stopping you. I'm just telling about a wonderful product that I found and enjoy.....you can enjoy what you like

I'm confused--if it's dried, that means it's concentrated, right? Every other dried food I've ever run across was much HIGHER in calories than the fresh version. This just isn't making sense to me.

And you know, if you don't take in enough energy foods--carbohydrates and fats--to fuel your body, your body begins consuming muscle mass for energy. That's a very, very bad thing. You can't run your car effectively without a good source of fuel--your body will break down, too, if not supplied with enough of the 'right octane' fuel.

maybee, I'd read about PB2 on a diet forum and have seriously considered ordering it! None of my grocery stores carry it, or I would've already tried it. Thanks for the positive feedback!

I also try to cut calories anywhere I can. I love PB, but one serving equals roughly 1/6th of my daily caloric allowance when I'm dieting. Like you, I also know all about good fats vs. bad fats but I still choose to eat what is right for ME! Some PB after a few days of really watching what I eat will seem like quite the treat. Sometimes that's all the motivation needed to continue on with my dieting efforts!

I'm not making any sense of this. How does one 'get healthy fat in a less fattening way'??

Vegetable fats are good for you. The fat in a legume like peanuts is a good healthy fat and your body needs fat in the diet. It is animal fats that should be avoided in a healthy diet.

Peanut butter is a near perfect food as a part of a diet containing fruits and veggies. If you love peanut butter as you say, then you would be better off putting it on celery and eating it, or using it making a granola that contains dried fruits.

The only thing I can see this dried peanut powder good for is adding flavor to baked items without having to adjust the recipe to allow for the extra oil in the peanut butter. I am wondering if it could be mixed with breading for coating fried foods to add taste? Hmmm. I might experiment with that one. There are some intriguing recipe ideas with this product in cases where one does not want to add extra oil that would affect the outcome of a dish or cooking process, but as a substitute for regular plain peanut butter I don't see the reasoning behind it.

For breakfast I had a banana with the powder sprinkled over it and a glass of fat free milk...yummy

I didn't intend to start an argument about this. I just posted about a product that I found that is good and will go along with my maintaining a healthy body weight....nothing to argue about it's just something that is yummy. I love peanut butter and this fills the bill for me

Actually, I forgot to thank you for the information about the peanut dust. I never heard of it before, and had never seen it in the stores and now I am going to look for it. I might try adding it to breads I make, or using it in a Thai noodle dish along with regular peanut butter with the dried cayenne. It sound like it might be a good product for sneaking in a little extra protein or flavor to a dish without affecting the consistency and requiring reworking the whole recipe. Thanks for the heads-up about this product. I'm going to do more research on it and it might become a staple in my pantry just like ground flax has become.
