What Has Everyone Been Doing Today?

I emptied the dishwasher, loaded the dishwasher and ran it. Washed up the things that didn't fit. Did a load of laundry, put clean bed clothes on my bed. Went with Amber to pick up food at McDonald's for Randy and Mike who are working on the koi pond at their house. Rode with Amber to Pendleton to take her doxie, Angel to the vet. Has an infection on her foot between her toes. She got a shot, got the place scrubbed, and got antibiotics for 10 days. The vet also saw Harley, her Jack Russell. He got a spinal manipulation. Poor Baby has recently fallen out of the back of their Trail Blazer (while we were unloading our groceries) , fallen down my stairs and fallen out of bed 3 times! Izzi just went along for the fun of it. I did pick her up another round of flea stuff and heartworm medicine since we were there. We stopped by Captain D's on the way home and I picked up Norm his favorite greasy fish dinner. I got the baked Tilapia and some good iced tea. So, I don't have to cook tonight. I have been trying to write some letters and get some cards ready to mail tomorrow. So, really I haven't gotten a lot done around here, but have had a busy day. How about the rest of you out there?

I don't feel like I've gotten anything done except sitting here ... but really, I've made a few thank-you cards for things that have been done for me since my surgery. And I actually got the personal message written in one of them. I'd intended to have it all done before the mailman came so they'd go out today, but I kept turning back to the computer and playing a game or checking in here at the KT so a lot of wasted time.

Maybe I'll get finished this evening ....

I hung a wash this morning, got a new retractable clothesline for the back porch, it's cool! Took DS back and forth to his counselor, replanted some beans, took a nap, and fixed supper, fried potatoes, kulbasi, and scrambled eggs. Now it's raining, hope it continues for a while.

I took a DVD called "Days of The One Room Schoolhouse" to a local nursing home to share with the residents as one of their activities for this week. Had lunch first with a friend who resides there and had a long visit. Everyone seemed to enjoy the documentary even tho several fell asleep. ;) On the way there I happened to look down and see the "Check Engine" light was on. Oh crap. I was hoping I'd at least make it to the home and then when I came back out the car would start. It did start but the light was still on so I drove it on into the dealership where I know the hourly rate of service is high but. Anyhow, a young guy got in the car with a diagnostic tool and hooked that up to my car's computer under the steering wheel (who knew?) and then asked if I had recently gotten gas. I had. He said the car's computer was showing the code for "Loose gas tank cap". He checked it, tightened it, and the light went off. Plus there was no charge - what a relief. Esp. about the no charge, that doesn't happen very much now days. Came home, made a cup of coffee and then went out and finished mowing parts of the yard I didn't get to yesterday. Now I can relax.

I know you are having a ball!!! I have been so busy today. I have been in town 3 times today. Our town fair is coming so I went into the store to get fair tickets for the grandkids.. They are almost half the cost if you get them ahead of time. I bought a hundred bucks worth. They can go and ride until their hearts are content. Some of the rides the parents have to go on with them so it takes more. It sure brings back wonderful memories of when our kids were little. I have been getting extra things ready for Larry to take south. It is so much cheaper buying it here and sending it down. Our son, son-in-law and another guy are going down tomorrow for the weekend, too. They are taking their 3 young daughters, too. I made up some cool goodie bags for the girls. They will make a fire and make somemores, too. They will have a ball. I sure wish I was a mouse... I am looking for a quiet evening when Larry leaves..

Hi Marilyn Sue! I've worked a few days..working one more, tomorrow. Tuesday we sent our exchange student to Washington D.C. and then he went home to Turkey. I still haven't cleaned his room up. I was up nearly 30 hours the day before and that day because I had to work an weird evening shift the day before he left for the airport. I took a short nap in the afternoon because I couldn't stay awake any longer. Oh, no...people are shooting off fireworks. D@mn, I thought they would know by now they weren't supposed to do that in town anymore. Lauren is in Chicago till tomorrow with a friend. She got to go to China town today. I'm so jealous. So, had the house to myself for the last few days. So, now going to hope they quit with the fireworks so I don't have to call the police and can sleep.

I am new to this site and scrapbooking. I have really enjoyed reading all of your comments and ideas. I look forward to hearing more. My friends are always calling me for ideas, because they say I am the "crafty" one and I tend to get my pages completed quicker. I think its just because my kids are older and stay out of the way while I work (LOL) Thanks ladies for your comments and ideas. We "newbies" look forward to more info!

Sitting in doctor's waiting rooms!!! I had my annual ck up this morning at regular drs. And my temporary crown came out end of last week, so off to dentist this afternoon. Honestly, I wish drs offices would stop 'overbooking'. Waiting exhausts me.

Went to therapy, then lunch, then to the bone doctor and shopped at the Buy Back store where I bought 8 used movie DVDs.

Spent the whole morning in the waiting room at the hospital,while DH got his back taken care of.He said they tried to find his veins to put the IV in 4 different times and he finally told them no more!!His dr came in and he told her,as did the nurses.So the dr did it and got it in the first time.His one hand is all swollen from them trying.He's sleeping now,so i'm playing on the putor.LOL

Went over to Nordstrom to look at a dress for the wedding. Checked out other stores...no luck.
Spent the afternoon at the mall and...nothing I like at all.

It was quite a nice day today, so we went walking this morning for a couple of hours. Then it got hot so we decided to just putter around in the gardens. We ended up getting everything weeded and weed whipped and looking pretty good around this ol house.

Now we are just hanging out and playing, me on the computer, him with his books. He loves to read.

That's about it.

Not too much.

Spent the morning visiting my aunt at the assisted living facility. Then came home and polished the upstairs floors with Old English Scratch Cover--does a GREAT job on floors.

Then spent some time organizing and paying bills.

DH came home late--they've been working overtime every day--and I reached into the freezer to get some bacon for BLT's.... Ooops, knew I had bacon, but I realized it's at the other house, so we ran out for Chick Fila.

Then, when we got home, the little gal next door was out, she got interested when she saw my husband changing the batteries in my metal detector, so I tossed a handful of change into the back yard when she wasn't looking and let her have fun finding it.

I worked all day and then came home and we had hot dogs. After supper I repotted and orange tree and a banana plant and played in the yard. I made cookies to take to work tomorrow. And I talked on the phone with a relative (by marriage) for a while. I also frustrated myself trying to load pics from my Mac to photobucket and posted on a couple of forums. I had a lot of trouble disengaging the camera from the puter, DH had to rescue me. I'm hopeless!
