Busy, busy day.

Dinner for lunch per usual, out!

Niki's by the Farmer's Market. Delicious veal cutlet and of course 7 layer salad.

Ventured to Farmer's Market, and got in line with a few cars, that drive around the produce trucks to eyeball their goods.

Stopped at the first one, rolled the window down and asked how much his cantaloupe were. $1, $2, $4. He hand picked me a $1 one, and it will be good and ripe by the middle of the week, when I need it.

Didn't see any corn or peaches but watermelon and cantaloupe on the trucks today.

Didn't go into the inside stands, where they are open all year, but I'd rather buy off the trucks, which I've been doing forever.

Had to clean today & did some yard work early this morning while it was still cool.
For dinner it was turkey & all the fixings. It was Thanksgiving in June. Dessert was a blueberry pie with vanilla ice cream.

Ah, geez, I can just smell that turkey meal.

I had a cup of beans, homemade chicken salad on Triscuit brown rice, red beans, roasted red pepper crackers. They're okay, but I won't buy them again.

I had to work this afternoon at the Pro Shop since people are on vacation. Used to work a lot, but now down to 1 day a week, just a few hours. I just got home. Had ham and swiss on a Hawaiian roll so guess that was a slider. May have a snack later, but right now it is a Miller Lite. :)

Patti, we have 2 Publix within 1/2 mile of each other and two more not that far. All in The Villages. Our Winn Dixie is a nice one and we have Aldi's just down the street. By the way, wanted to ask you if you eat at Mimi's (I think that was it). We went to Dick's Sporting Goods the other day and saw this. Wondered if the food was good.

Glenda, what a fun day. I love farmer's markets but, like you, I'd rather buy out of the back of a truck. You know they've grown that stuff themselves and also that it's fresh. Wish I could eat cantaloupe. I thought Georgia peaches would be out now, but Harry says next month.

Mary, you did yard work, cleaned house AND fixed a whole turkey dinner? You have my unending admiration :-) And look at all the leftovers for next week. Woo hoo!

Shirley, I was looking at the new flavors of Triscuits but haven't tried any of them yet. Chicken salad sounds good--just the kind with celery, a little onion and a little green pepper and served like you did--on crackers.

Chilton County peaches are starting to come in, but won't be their best until around the 4th. I'm partial to Alabama peaches :o)

Have to drive down there, Durbin Farms, every year or so and have one of their fried peach pies with a scoop of fresh peach ice cream on top.

Now I'm wanting fresh, juicy peaches, along with Mary's Turkey dinner!!! Sometimes I just shouldn't open this thread.

Today I went with our little theater group (7 ladies) to see Chicago. It was very good . I had seen it on Broadway quite a number of years ago but it's always fun to see a show again. Afterwards we went to Bonefish for dinner. I had my usual mussels Josephine. I offered to bring something home for DH but he said not to. I guess he had the spinach quiche again. He did like it last night.

Hellion, we've eaten at Mimi's Cafe for lunch a few times and found the food very good. I like that they have some special things on the menu instead of the usual run-of-the-mill stuff. You can check out their menu on-line. I know everytime we go, I say we need to go there more often. We have a nice Winn-Dixie, too. More often than not we do our shopping there because they are never very crowded. Wish we had an Aldi's near. We have two, but they're both way on the other side of town.

Shirley, me too. Bring on those peaches!!! See what you've done, Glenda? Now we're all craving peaches. :-)

Georgysmom, what a nice way to spend a Saturday afternoon. I'm green with envy!

We're going to grill some beautiful center cut chops and have some fresh corn on the cob. Might make a few zucchini k-bobs, too.

Neither of us are dessert eaters, thank goodness. I am so grateful that I don't have a sweet tooth.

We took my cousins out for dinner tonight. Mike and I had prime rib (was just okay), baked potato, salad and strawberry shortcake for dessert.

Headed for Niagara Falls in the morning.

Left over Tuscan chicken, pasta, sweet potatoes.
Fresh peaches for dessert.
