Todays Trial,How Does Casey Anthony Act in Prison????

*Is she happy,polite WHATTTTT?????I thought trial was about a little girl that was murdered?Shes eating that up,yes casey youre special..uugh

Doesn't matter--the jury didn't hear (and won't hear) that testimony. The judge considered it as irrelevant as you and I do, thank goodness!

It's so obvious that the defense is grabbing at straws, they've got nothing, nothing, nothing. And what little they do have is quickly turned around by the state to benefit the prosecution.

They are spending so much time on the meter reader. What do you think about him? The thought is that he had the body from August to December or something like that/

Casey is locked up now, right? I'm coming to this whole thing a little late.

I am of the same opinion as Terriks, that this time the cholorform was too much and she returned from partying that night to find Caylee dead. She then disposed of the body in a manner consistent with what they'd done with pets that had died (wrapped in plastic & duct tape). I have heard that the duct tape was not necessarily on the babies mouth. As to the verdict, I knew all along they'd never convict on 1st degree murder, but I thought they might convict on manslaughter. The primary difference being that 1st degree is premeditated, thus eligible for a capital offense, while manslaughter is accidental (with a degree of malice) and not a capital offense. I was once a juror on a rape/murder trial. It was horrific and it made me sick serving on that trial. The defendant was as guilty as could be...you just KNEW he did the crime, but when it came time to deliberate, we initially found him not guilty. Why? Because the prosecution did not prove beyond REASONABLE doubt he did the murder. We were all just sick about it, we wanted so badly to find him guilty, but there was a small amount of reasonable doubt. The case was all circumstantial (this was before DNA), and relied heavily on blood spots found in the car. But the blood type was that of the victim, and the defendants brother, also. Reasonable doubt. A witness for the prosecution was an inmate who was promised a shortened sentence for testifying. Again, reasonable doubt was raised. It wasn't until I remembered something in the testimony that didn't make sense to me, so we reviewed the transcripts and when that was compiled with the rest of the circumstantial evidence, we found him guilty of 1st degree murder. He had choked the victim, then slit her throat...had he just choked her it would have been 2nd degree, but by cutting her throat, it made it pre-meditated in our minds. In this case they did not seek the death penalty, but did sentence him to life in prison. So, I guess I can see why the jury found the way they did. They're probably all heartsick about it, but it is THE most tremendous pressure to serve as a juror in a murder trial. Nothing you can do will be the right thing, so you must go with what the law instructs. My family and I suspect that she'll go into porn of some kind...what else can she do? Seems to go along with her party girl/sociopathic personality.

It is amazing to me that such a huge majority of people who has been following this case, and who saw the evidence presented, thinks Casey is guilty. And yet, out of 12 randomly chosen people, not one of them found reasonable doubt. Is it possible that juries are too 'protected' from pertinent information and thereby getting too narrow a view???? Also, about that unfortunate woman during jury selection who blurted out that she thought Casey killed "someone". That caused a potential juror on the stand to be dismissed, and the judge said that if the whole panel had been there they would have had to start all over again. Didn't the (potential) jurors already know that she was accused of killing "someone"? Of course it is totally wrong for a spectator to speak up like that,and the judge handled that firmly,as he should, but would it really taint the jury? Are their minds that fragile? Elisabeth

I agree with azzalea ....you must tell the truth on the stand..or be punished. I agree with lynn_d...with all your comments about George and the family. He was the only one in the family with feelings....Cindy seems like a controlling person...but, did not control her daughter at all...I think she spoiled her and let her get away with so much even murder. This is a family that will definitely have a melt down. How could Casey accuse her father of so many evil things and keep a straight face...I think she should be put to death or life without parole. Remember Susan Smith...she killed her children by driving the car into the water and drowning them because she wanted to be single and have fun and no responsibility...These girls are losers..... I do not like that Halloway woman...she wants a reality show.....media seeker. I think he only talked to her ..nothing else... She sure doesn't look like "the other woman" in my opinion. LOL If I was on the jury I would say guilty in the First Degree!

"the mother wanted to give the baby up for adoption, but the parents wouldn't let her" Does anyone remember the "baby in the closet" in Lancaster Texas a few years back? The mother wanted to give the baby up, *her* mother "wouldn't let her", & the little girl eventually was found, naked, filthy, sexually abused -by the mother's boyfriend- in a closet where she had been kept. She didn't know what the world, or even the rest of the house, was like: they threw food into the closet, & she had no container for bathroom needs, so she "went" on the floor. She was the size of a 3-year-old (seems like she was 7), she didn't know what the sun was, & she said the grass was biting her bare feet. The mother had moved from their old neighborhood, & no one in the new neighborhood knew that there was another child. The mother had been snooping around a relative's acreage; law enforcement suspected she was looking for a place to bury her daughter's body. (The boyfriend, afraid that the little girl would die & he'd be held responsible, tipped off a neighbor. Had he not done so, it's likely no one would ever have known.) When it all came to light, the mother's mother sailed in & grandly said *she* would raise this child & the other children. The court said no. The girl's mother said in an interview that she was relieved, that she felt freer in prison than she ever had felt in her life. Tragic all round. Mother & boyfriend in jail, abused little girl adopted by the family that wanted her when she was a baby, but she's had developmental delays, physical problems, surgery to correct what the sexual abuse did to her... other children in therapy. & as far as I know, the control-freak mother/grandmother is still free as a bird, still completely satisfied with herself.

Casey's been locked up for almost what? 3 years now?

One of the defense's own witnesses debunked that meter reader theory--so they didn't even go there today. The funny thing was, the defense had the guy on the stand for about 2-3 hours, the prosecutor spent 10 minutes on him and totally and completely negated his testimony for the defense--it was just beautiful to watch, really!

I don't know how you're all getting your trial coverage, but I'd highly recommend watching on one of the Florida TV stations on the computer--I've been watching every minute on www.wftv.com They're doing a great job of covering it, and very few commercials.

I should add that I appreciate the heads up for the www.wftv.com link. I just started watching it today online (am also watching it on HLN, but they don't have all the coverage). I was surprised I could watch the trial online in Canada since most of time tv shows from US websites aren't available to view here. So, thanks.

What a day in the court room!! First, conflicting testimony between mother and son. Also, dad had an alleged affair with a volunteer, and dad allegedly molested Casey. What topped off the day was to find out that Casey has been a happy and pleasant girl while jail. What a mess!

But non of that should be on so what if dad had an affair...Yes he was sayingwhat a rotten woman she is,maybe its her 3 mins of fame but forget all this get back to the little girl like how if she drowned did she end up in the woods dumped like garbage.If that were my little girl they would have to drug me,restrain me etc Id be beside myself not happy polite,getting tattoos.Today someone must have said hello how are you..What a smile .What a mess...

Be sure to follow the online blog at wftv too. They will tell you lots of things going on in the courtroom, who is in the waiting area that day waiting to be called, etc. 90,000 were on the website today-wow!

The corrections officers were called to point out that she acts as if nothing is happening to her by being in jail. The Defenses opening statement blamed her lack of concern over her missing child and all the lying and abuse was because she was raised to hide her feelings.

I've been on several juries, it doesn't matter a bit how a defendant acts or dresses, whatever. All that counts is the TESTIMONY the jury hears. We have to trust in the judicial system, and "innocent until proven guilty." Tho my personal opinion is that Casey should get life in prison. Nothing will ever bring that dear child back.

No the attorney tells them how to dress,everytime my husband was to be in court they told him what to wear.

A good friend of mine is a defense attorney and she tells her clients how to dress for the jury. She says clothing and demeanor rarely go unnoticed by the jury and Yes, testimony should be the only factor, but sadly it isn't.
